Chapter 232

"Honestly... there are people in this world who just love to stir up trouble."

Inside the carriage running through the streets of the royal capital, Reina let out a quiet sigh.

Reina had t with Eric at the royal palace and explained the situation... but on the way back, she encountered a sudden traffic accident.

Fortunately, the girl who was the victim wasn't seriously injured. For Reina, it was sothing she could heal easily.

The treatnt went smoothly. However... sothing ntally exhausting happened unrelated to that.

"There was really no need to make such a big deal of it... Why can't people just resolve things peacefully?"

Reina was exasperated... but the contempt she felt wasn't only directed at the nobleman.

She was also exasperated by the foreigner who appeared later, dressed like a samurai.

The samurai, who had likely appeared driven by righteous indignation, was nothing but a nuisance.

To begin with... that samurai didn't need to show up at all.

The nobleman did run over the child with his carriage, but it wasn't entirely clear he was one hundred percent at fault.

Listening in on the bystanders' conversations, it seed the child had suddenly darted out in front of the carriage.

Of course, Reina despised the arrogant nobleman. She believed he could have handled it more sincerely.

That's why... Reina had planned to issue a stern warning to the nobleman through the Grand Shrine afterward.

She intended to have him pay compensation and dical expenses, and if he showed no remorse, to impose an appropriate penalty.

But... then a man had to say sothing unnecessary.

To put it bluntly, he butted in where he wasn't needed.

(What was that man even trying to do? Did he want to beat down that nobleman in front of the public?)

Even if the nobleman was at fault... that samurai was neither military police nor a knight.

He had no authority to punish anyone, and since it was an accident, shouldn't there have been a more thorough investigation into who was at fault?

If he decided the nobleman was evil based solely on impression and tried to condemn him unilaterally... that was an incredibly selfish and self-righteous act.

(It just so happened that the nobleman ordered his guards to attack first, so it was considered self-defense... but if the foreigner had struck first, it would've been plain assault. Really, what was he trying to do...)

"Honestly... between Prince Eric and that foreigner... there really are so few decent n around ."

Reina muttered softly so no one outside the carriage could hear.

Eric, whom she t at the castle, had his own issues too.

He was said to be well-liked and capable... but his relationships with won were concerning.

Despite being engaged to Carrot Laurel, he tried to approach Reina every ti they t.

Carrot was Reina's legal older sister.

Though they had only t a handful of tis, Reina had found her beautiful, polite, and left with no bad impression.

(To think he has such a wonderful fiancée... I really do despise him...)

In the end, it seed Clael was the only decent man.

Reina once again reaffird Clael's virtues.

(Now that I've realized how wonderful Lord Clael is, maybe in that sense, those people were at least sowhat useful.)

"Saint, we've arrived at the Grand Shrine."

"Thank you."

The carriage ca to a stop.

Reina stepped out of the carriage, escorted by the Temple Knights waiting outside.

She had returned to the Grand Shrine and, though slightly delayed, began her duties as a Saint... but the face and voice of the foreign man she had just t were already gone from her mind.

The samurai, who was technically one of the main characters, didn't even remain in Reina's mory, and his flag was cleanly broken as he vanished from the stage.
