Chapter 211
The day after the al at the restaurant.
As the martial arts tournant in the royal capital officially began, the academy entered a long holiday.
The reason being... so students were participating in the martial arts tournant, and many others were rushing to support them, making regular classes impossible.
Fifty-one students from the academy entered the main tournant. Of those, thirty-two were recomnded, and the remaining nineteen won their spots through the general preliminaries.
Since there were sixty-four participants in total for the Under-18 division, the majority of the competitors were students from the Royal Academy.
"Wow, it's great that nineteen students made it through the general preliminaries this year. I'm sure they'll all beco splendid knights in the future."
Royal Academy. Staff room.
The one who spoke in a gentle tone was Yurii Kanesta, the history teacher.
The male teacher, who looked unmistakably like a woman, glanced back at the large male teacher standing a bit farther away.
"Mr. Rock, you must be proud. Your students are so talented."
"Hahaha, it's not my doing. It's all thanks to the students' hard work."
Though modest, Big Rock smiled with a hint of pride.
In the martial arts tournant, half of the slots in the Under-18 division were given to students from the Royal Academy.
Students who didn't receive a recomndation had to compete in the general preliminaries against participants from other countries... yet nineteen of them still made it through.
In other words, the majority of the Under-18 participants were students from the Royal Academy.
(It seems more students made it through the preliminaries than usual this year... Is that thanks to Mr. Rock's efforts, or maybe Vincent Fla's influence?)
As Clael listened to Yurii and Big Rock's conversation, he tidied up the docunts on his desk.
Although the Royal Academy had entered a holiday period... that didn't an the faculty had no work.
Even during the break, there was still plenty to do, like preparing for future classes.
He also wanted to clean the sanctuary while the students were away.
"Mr. Clael, aren't you going to cheer at the martial arts tournant?"
While Clael was briskly sorting docunts, Yurii turned the conversation toward him.
"Well, maybe after I finish my work? What about you, Mr. Rock? Aren't you going?"
"There was sothing I absolutely had to take care of. I should be done by noon, so I plan to go cheer in the afternoon."
Big Rock answered with a calm expression.
For Big Rock, the physical education teacher, the tournant participants were like apprentices he had trained and guided.
He must be quite eager to see the outco of their battles.
"Oh, right... Vincent has a match this afternoon, doesn't he? He's the top contender for the championship, so it'll be exciting."
Yurii said warmly.
Of the sixty-four participants in the Under-18 division, the one considered most likely to win was, of course, Vincent Fla.
Vincent was the strongest at the academy. After all, he had already defeated the equivalent of fifty student participants.
(If anyone can rival him, it's Guardly, who's ranked second among the students. And... that man, one of the sub-main characters.)
As Clael thought to himself, a certain individual ca to mind.
The wandering swordsman.
That man, who appeared only during the martial arts tournant event, was one of the strongest warriors in the ga, on par with Vincent.
Whether Vincent or that man would win the tournant depended on the actions of Reina, the heroine.
(It depends on whether Reina progresses Vincent's route or 'his'... but it doesn't seem like she's following Vincent's route so far.)
"Excuse . Is Mr. Byrne here?"
The staff room door was knocked on, and a female student entered.
Even though no one had spoken her na aloud... the one who appeared was Reina Laurel.
She was the very person Clael had just been thinking about.
"Ah, Mr. Clael is here."
"Yes, I'll be right there. Please wait a mont."
Called by Reina, Clael quickly stacked the docunts at the edge of his desk.
It was good timing, just as he'd reached a stopping point. Clael stood up from his chair and walked over to Reina.
"Sorry to keep you waiting."
"Yes, shall we go?"
Nodding to Reina, who smiled brightly, Clael left the staff room.
