The relay baton was held aloft like that. Li Xi glared fiercely at Zhang Fangxiao, a few strands of long hair still trapped between her fingers.

"The race isn’t over yet," the baton, still coated with sand and long hair, remained raised in the air.

"Yeah, don’t think about playing for sympathy just because you can’t win," Zhang Fangxiao blew on the hair on her hands, her face a picture of satisfaction.

Li Xi took the relay baton and turned to run.

"You’re too bullying," two female dorm mates watched as their grasp on victory slipped away. Just as Xia You was about to overtake Sun Fangxiao, because Xia You ran on the inner track and Zhang Fangxiao ran on the inside track as well. The mont Xia You fell to the ground, Zhang Fangxiao’s body just happened to block everyone’s view.

"Bullying? Which eyes of yours saw bullying anyone," the race was over, and the students had all gathered around.

"Xia You," Li Xi ran back full of regret. The accident had delayed them a great deal of ti, Xia You’s injury also directly affected Li Xi’s mood, in the end, they were left behind by a full fifty ters.

"How’s the injury?" Ren Minghang didn’t even care to hold the stopwatch anymore and hurried over. He was just about to squat down and pick Xia You up when he saw her stand up.

During the turn, Xia You only felt a sharp pain in her scalp, and by the ti she reacted, she only saw Zhang Fangxiao’s resentful eyes. The next mont, she felt a pain in her knee and fell to the ground.

Fortunately, when she landed, she instinctively blocked with her hands. Her knees were only slightly scraped, but when her hair was pulled, she also fell face-forward, and her chin was bruised.

"Can you walk? If you can, walk yourself to the infirmary. An athletic competition is just like a real battlefield. If you’re not alert, you’re just waiting to fail." Lu Xun’s words felt chilling to anyone who heard them.

Li Xi couldn’t help but give Lu Xun a reproachful look. Indeed, he was a hellish instructor. She regretted that before coming to Longzhi Academy, she had admired him so much. He was her career goal as a soldier.

"I’ll send... Mr. Li, you take Xia to the infirmary," Ren Minghang retracted his words after a warning glance from Lu Xun, watching regretfully as Li Xi helped Xia You on her way to the infirmary.

"Other than the injured, everyone else, especially the losing side, return to the team imdiately. After the race, run as punishnt imdiately. The injured, after bandaging and making sure there are no bone injuries, co back and complete the entire course. No exceptions." While Li Xi’s hand was still supporting Xia You, she heard this and couldn’t help turning her head, "Devil."

The curse was never spoken, but Li Xi’s mouth was covered by a hand sared in blood, a hand with rough calluses.

"I rember," Xia You’s voice was very light but articulately clear. Li Xi suspected that no matter where one stood on the field, everyone could clearly hear Xia You’s words.

After she spoke, she limped away. Li Xi stood aside, stunned for a long ti, before eventually rejoining the lineup under Lu Xun’s command.

Zhang Fangxiao, seeing that no one pursued her responsibility, grew even more proud.

It was not until evening that the students finished their military training. Xia You did not return to the field. Li Xi and two roommates went to the infirmary, where the school doctor was packing up, "The injured female student? She left after she was bandaged up."

"She left," Li Xi was puzzled, where could Xia You go with such injuries?

Li Xi had thought Xia You would go back to the dorm first, but when they returned, Xia You’s bed was neatly made, as if she had never been back—if not for the uniform, stained with dust and blood on the table.

"She ca back and left again?" Li Xi murmured, looking at the clothes.

At eleven o’clock at night, the dormitory door closed on ti. Late into the night, the dormitory matron heard a knocking at the door.

The knocking, clear and unhurried, sounded very abrupt in the silent night.

The dormitory matron, bleary-eyed and wrapped in a piece of clothing, cracked open the window and saw a "male student" standing at the dormitory entrance, "Boys are not allowed in the girls’ dormitory, especially this late."

"Auntie, I live on the third floor, sorry for coming back so late," the female student’s voice was cool and crisp, cutting through the sleepy haze.

The matron rubbed her eyes, finally recognizing the girl outside the door.

She had a bandage on her chin, clear features, wearing a simple sports outfit, with a few strands of broken hair on her shoulders.

(You guys say, how should we torture Evil Zhang?) (To be continued. If you like this work, welco to Qidian (qidian) to vote for recomndation tickets, monthly tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
