Chapter 1058: Countdown
Although no scandals surrounded Deputy Director Yao, he was still more or less affected. He was transferred from a provincial departnt to a district departnt, he no longer wielded authority he had in the past, and it will be very hard for him to return to the peak of his career.

When sumr break arrived, she traveled all over the world. Xia Jinyuan2, who went to look for her twice, missed her both tis. He didn’t even know where exactly she was training and hadn’t heard any news from or about her.
This outco didn’t co as a surprise to him. Since he was similarly a special forces soldier, the ti they had to spend together was short from the start. If they wanted to cling onto each other while in a relationship… that’s basically impossible.
With similar pursuits, similar ideals, and similar goals, separation of one wouldn’t make the other feel tired because they both knew their other half was putting in the endless effort!
Entering the winter season of ‘98, Ye Jian, who was now a Grade 12 student, was sitting inside the classroom along with An Jiaxin, Lee Qian, Yang Yi, and her five girl-friends while discussing a difficult math question. She was improving, An Jiaxin with the four other girls was also improving!
Furthermore, these five roommates of the past had beco the top students of their grade, no matter exams or tests; their individual results were always in the top 15!
There were a total of six people in their dorm, one of them claid her throne at the top, while the other five claid five spots in the top 15 for themselves, and they had beco a legend in the school!
At this ti, Teacher Tong was currently smiling helplessly at Principal Cao: “Ye Jian is making it hard for even a teacher like myself to et her eyes. The look in her eyes is as sharp as a sword; she’s so intimidating that I dared not say anything harsh.”
“It’s best for our school not to pay too much attention to her. As long as her results still maintain the sa, then anything can be discussed.” Although Principal Cao did not know what Ye Jian was doing in private, there was one thing he was certain; Old Chen had told him her goal was to get into Military School!
Besides that, she did not have any other considerations.
“Guangxi University called again the other day, saying they wanted to leave their last direct admission slot to Ye Jian. Sir, they’re going to take Gaokao in the first half of next year, shouldn’t we at least have a conversation with Ye Jian? And let her accept that direct admission?”
Since last year’s midterm exams, Huaqiao University and Guangxi university had never stopped contacting First Provincial High. All they wanted to do was ‘snatch’ Ye Jian into their own campuses.
Fluffy snow descended from the skies outside, and winter seed to have arrived in ‘98 much earlier than ‘97. The first snowfall seed to be much heavier than last year.
Principal Cao held a porcelain cup filled with hot water, he spoke after humming for a mont: “We can’t drag this out any longer, we need Ye Jian to give us a clear and definite reply. Let’s do it at noon today, ask her to co to my office for a chat.”
It was nearing the last exams of the Grade 12 students in school; it was also ti for Ye Jian to give her answer to the school.
Leaving aside that Teacher Tong didn’t dare et Ye Jian’s gaze, even Principal Cao was the sa, there were a couple of tis where he bumped into her, but he was always startled by the fierceness occasionally flashing through her eyes.
With Principal Cao stepping in, Teacher Tong left the Principal’s office with a slightly eased mind. All she needed to do was to wait for noon to co.
“My Gaokao aspirations?” Seated inside the Principal’s office, Ye Jian spoke with a surprised tone, “Isn’t that done next year? Why are we doing it now?”
She still didn’t understand why the school wanted to know her Gaokao aspirations, nor did she know about Huaqiao University and Guangxi University’s competition for her.
Principal Cao chuckled: “Both Huaqiao University and Guangxi University intend on giving you one of their direct admission slots. Today, on behalf of both Principals, I want to ask you, what are your thoughts?”
