Gu Jin glanced at him, her expression unreadable.

"Luo ng, I already told you. You don’t have to go out of your way to prove yourself to . Just focus on your cultivation."

"I am!" Luo ng said quickly, his voice rising slightly. Then, realizing how loud he was, he lowered it.

Gu Jin’s expression softened and she advised, "Why don’t you rest for a while?"

Luo ng was silent before nodding. Since his head was lowered Gu Jin couldn’t see his expression at all.

There was a silence for a while before Gu Jin softly said,

"Goodbye."

"Goodbye, master." Luo ng replied. Once Gu Jin left, Luo ng lifted his face and said in a dark voice,

"Co out, senior Long!"

The last two words were said through gritted teeth.

Luo ng clenched his fists tightly, his nails digging into his palms as he scanned the shadows.

The air was tense, thick with unspoken anger.

Monts later, Long Yifan stepped out from behind a large tree, his arms crossed and a smug grin plastered across his face.

"Well, well, Junior Luo," Long Yifan began, his tone dripping with mockery.

"That was... pathetic. You had one chance to impress Gu Jin, and you managed to make her more distant than before. Bravo!"

Luo ng’s jaw tightened as he glared at Long Yifan.

"At least I got a chance," he retorted sarcastically.

"You’re always prancing around with your flashy bento boxes and la jokes. Have you ever even had a real conversation with her? Oh wait—you haven’t had the chance for a date at all."

Long Yifan’s smirk widened, his confidence unwavering.

"True," he said with a shrug, "but at least I haven’t made a complete fool of myself. You, on the other hand, are on thin ice. With the way things are going, I wouldn’t be surprised if Gu Jin tells you to stay far, far away from her."

Luo ng’s eyes narrowed into sharp slits.

His voice was low, dripping with venom.

"Or maybe," he said slowly, "you’re the reason she’s been acting distant. Ever thought about that, Senior Long?"

For the first ti, Long Yifan’s smirk faltered. His brow furrowed as he stared at Luo ng, clearly caught off guard.

"What are you talking about?" he asked coldly, his playful tone now replaced with irritation.

Luo ng stepped forward, his expression filled with defiance.

"Think about it," he said.

"You’re always hovering around her, giving her unnecessary gifts, drawing everyone’s attention. Maybe she’s just annoyed because of your constant pestering. Hence when I did the sa, she beca upset."

Long Yifan’s eyes flashed with anger, but he quickly composed himself. His voice turned icy as he pointed a finger at Luo ng.

"Don’t turn this around on ," he said. "If anyone’s to bla, it’s you. You acted too clingy, ignored her boundaries, and kept pushing when she clearly said no."

Luo ng opened his mouth to argue, but Long Yifan cut him off.

"You bought her a bunch of things she didn’t even want, followed her too closely, and tried to guilt her into accepting your so-called kindness. Do you think that’s her fault? Stop blaming others for your own mistakes, Luo ng."

The younger man’s fists clenched tighter, but he couldn’t deny the sting of Long Yifan’s words.

"Face it," Long Yifan continued, his tone sharp.

"You’re the one who’s making her uncomfortable. If you don’t fix your attitude, Gu Jin won’t just ask you to stay away—she’ll make sure you’re out of her life for good."

Luo ng’s face darkened, his lips curling into a bitter scowl.

"You’re so sure of yourself," he muttered. "But don’t think for a second that I’ll give up."

Long Yifan smirked again, his confidence returning. "We’ll see, Junior Luo. We’ll see."

With that, he turned and walked away, leaving Luo ng seething in the fading light.

Luo ng stord into his dorm room, his face a mask of fury.

Slamming the door behind him, he threw his bag onto the floor and flopped onto his bed.

"That Long Yifan!" he muttered through clenched teeth.

"Always acting like he’s better than ! What does he know? A total jinx, that’s what he is!"

He turned over, burying his face into the pillow, his thoughts racing with ways to get back at Long Yifan.

But before he could drown too much in his anger, he suddenly heard strange noises coming from the other side of the room.

Moaning sounds.

Luo ng froze, his eyebrows twitching as the sounds grew louder.

He clenched his fists and sat up, his face beet red—not out of embarrassnt but pure frustration.

He almost wanted to yell. "Are you kidding right now?!"

Unable to bear it anymore, Luo ng got up, grabbed his robe, and stord out of his room.

He marched to the neighboring door and knocked firmly.

A mont later, the door creaked open, and a half-naked man leaned against the fra.

His hair was ssy, and his expression was one of clear irritation.

"What do you want?" the man asked lazily, his tone making it obvious he didn’t appreciate the interruption.

Luo ng glared at him coldly. "Keep your voice down," he said, his tone sharp.

"If you keep this up, it won’t be good for you."

The man raised an eyebrow, crossing his arms over his bare chest.

"Oh? Are you trying to pick a fight with , Junior?" he said mockingly. "Every room in this dorm is soundproof. How could you even hear anything?"

Luo ng’s expression twisted, clearly annoyed.

"Because of my situation," he snapped.

"I was admitted under special circumstances, and they didn’t prepare a proper room for . They stuck in a makeshift one without soundproofing. That’s why your... noises... are traveling into my space."

The young man’s smirk faltered for a mont. "Makeshift room, huh?" he said, scratching his chin.

"Alright, fair enough."

"But why are the sounds from your room leaking in the first place? The soundproofing magic here should be flawless." Luo ng asked with a pointed expression.

The man shrugged nonchalantly.

"The soundproof magic in my room has weakened. I’ve been aning to report it, but I haven’t gotten around to it yet. Looks like it’s causing so trouble for you."

Just as he finished speaking, a soft female voice called out from behind him.

"Hey, are you coming back or not?"

The man glanced back over his shoulder and then turned to Luo ng, flashing an apologetic smile.

"Anyway, sorry about that, but I can’t exactly keep my voice down. You know how it is. How about I compensate you in so other way?"

Luo ng’s eyes narrowed, his anger bubbling under the surface. But just as he was about to argue, a sudden thought crossed his mind.

The man in front of him had a reputation.

He was known around campus for his many relationships and his ability to charm won effortlessly.

"Wait," Luo ng said, his tone shifting as an idea sparked in his mind.

"You’ve got a lot of experience with won, don’t you?"

The man blinked, caught off guard by the sudden question.

Then, a slow grin spread across his face.

"Well, I wouldn’t say a lot," he said with mock modesty, "but yeah, I know a thing or two. Why?"

Luo ng hesitated for a mont before straightening his back. "Teach ," he said firmly.

The man’s grin turned into a full-blown laugh. "Teach you? Teach you what?"

"To woo a woman," Luo ng said, his voice unwavering despite the flush creeping up his neck. "I need to know how to make her like ."

The man tilted his head, studying Luo ng for a mont. Then, with a chuckle, he said, "You’re serious, aren’t you?"

"Dead serious," Luo ng replied, his eyes determined.

The man shook his head, still laughing.

"Alright. I’ll teach you. But rember, my lessons don’t co cheap."

Luo ng’s face twisted slightly, but he nodded. "Fine. Whatever it takes."

"Good," the man said, clapping Luo ng on the shoulder.

"You’ll learn from the best. Co find tomorrow, and I’ll start with the basics."

Feeling a strange sense of satisfaction, Luo ng nodded and turned to leave.

As he walked back to his room, his anger had sowhat subsided, replaced by the anticipation of learning from soone who seed like an expert.

"This is it," he muttered to himself. "I’ll figure it out. I’ll make Gu Jin notice ."

Unbeknownst to him, the shadow calmly looked in his direction and waited for him to leave, before knocking on the door of that man.

The door opened the man’s impatient voice,

"What the f*ck do you need more..."

Long Yifan stood at the door, his arms crossed, and his expression stern. The young man inside, still half-dressed, froze when he saw him.

His impatient grin disappeared in an instant, replaced by sheer panic.

"Senior Long..." the man stamred, his face draining of color.
