After Gu Jin left completely, Long Yifan entered the room. With a glare, he closed the room and said,
"I must say, you are adjusting to your role quite well."
"My intelligence is my only redeeming quality." Luo ng rolled his eyes.
Long Yifan smirked,
" Yeah? But your performance is telling otherwise. When are you going to tell her the truth?"
"Truth? What truth?" Luo ng showed a puzzled expression.
Long Yifan stared at him for a while before smiling,
"You are truly smart."
Luo ng didn’t reply. After all, Long Yifan was the one who had forced everyone to forget about his sacrifice.
Now even if Long Yifan claid that he was the one who had saved Gu Jin earlier, he doesn’t have any proof to back his words.
Staring at the empty plates on the table, Luo ng felt satisfied in his heart.
Even though he stole the credits, Long Yifan couldn’t do anything to him, and Gu Jin would eventually start to date him(Luo ng).
As for Long Yifan? He can continue to sacrifice for Gu Jin like he used to do.
Long Yifan’s amused voice broke Luo ng’s trains of thought,
"However, I may have to disappoint you. You see every plan I executed always has a backup. Even though everyone has forgotten about my sacrifice for now, as long as I reverse the process, everyone will rember the truth."
The weight of his words, caused the atmosphere to tense up and Luo ng showed a panicked expression on his face.
"Really? Oh no! I am scared."
Even if Long Yifan was an idiot, he would have seen the mocking hidden underneath Luo ng’s fake panicked expression.
Without a word, he turned to leave.
"Hey, Yifan, I would say one thing straight to your face. Sothing if late, doesn’t hold much value. She might have been touched if she knew the truth before, but now, even if you die for her, she won’t spare you a single glance."
Long Yifan’s clenched his fist. His retreating back looked that of a dog forced to withdraw from a fight.
Luo ng’s mocking voice sounded in Long Yifan’s ear.
Once back in his room, he started to pace around.
Luo ng was dangerous.
Long Yifan’s instincts scread that Luo ng was too smart.
Even his elder step-brother could never avoid the trap set by him, so how can Luo ng easily see through his every move?
It was only possible if Luo ng like him, spent his life in a complex environnt.
However, according to the investigation he had conducted on Luo ng, he was the heir of the Luo Family where there was no other heir than him.
Was Luo ng always that smart?
After thinking for a while Long Yifan asked his subordinate to conduct deep research on Luo ng and lay on his bed.
Thinking how Luo ng used him as a stepping stone, Long Yifan was furious.
If that green tea b*tch could use him, why not he(Long Yofan), can do the sa.
After all, when it cos to scheming, there was hardly anyone who could outdo him.
.....
The next day.
Gu Jin took a day off and went to the awakening center.
She needed to awaken three elents and she already knew what those elents were going to be.
Awakening Center, was a place where mages first chose the elental stone to absorb and then awaken the elents.
Gu Jin chose space, chaos, and shadow elents.
Space elent was one of the most powerful elents after thunder and fire.
In fact, if mastered properly, it can surpass all the elents.
Then there was the chaos elent. Even though she had defeated Yan i easily, Yan i was able to surpass others because of the Chaos Elent.
As for the shadow elent, its ability to blend into the darkness, create illusions, and manipulate shadows made it an ideal choice for both offense and defense.
As Gu Jin was sitting in the waiting area, a sudden commotion erupted near the entrance of the Awakening Center.
She turned her head slightly but chose to ignore it, focusing instead on stabilizing the chaotic energy still lingering in her core.
Yet, the voices only grew louder.
"I demand an explanation! I ca here for the shadow elent stone, and you’re telling it’s unavailable for the next two weeks?" a shrill voice echoed through the chamber.
The receptionist’s calm yet firm response followed.
"Apologies, Young Master Wei, but the shadow elental stones are in too much demand. And you didn’t make any reservation so no shadow elental stones were kept reserved for you. If you like, you can make the reservation for shadow elental stone, the next week."
Young Master Wei, clearly a figure used to having his way, scowled in frustration. Gu Jin exhaled slowly, determined not to get involved.
However, her focus was soon interrupted when a young man, clad in luxurious, embroidered robes that failed to mask his otherwise plain features, approached her directly.
His eyes held the calculating gleam of entitlent, his posture exuding wealth and arrogance despite his lackluster appearance.
"You. Are you Gu Jin?" he asked, his gaze sweeping over her with invasive boldness.
Gu Jin narrowed her eyes but gave no response, turning away as if he were invisible.
Unfazed, he continued,
" I heard you have a shadow elental stone. See, in reality, that shadow elental stone should have been mine, but due to a mistake caused by the front desk, it ended up in your hand. So be a good girl and hand it over to ."
Silence.
"I don’t have ti for this. I’ll make it simple for you." His lips curled into a smug smile. "Give the shadow elental stone. In return, I will be generous and spare your life."
Gu Jin blinked, barely suppressing a scoff. Spare my life? Who does this clown think he is?
Seeing her continued indifference, Wei Changsheng’s gaze darkened, yet a lecherous smirk stretched across his face as his eyes scanned her figure more thoroughly.
"You’re quite the beauty. I suppose I can forgive your rudeness since you’ve caught my attention. Here’s my offer—give the stone, and I’ll reluctantly agree to be your boyfriend. That should be enough compensation, right? After all, many girls would kill for the chance to stand beside ."
Gu Jin’s patience had limits, and this farce was beginning to test them.
She turned her back completely, making it clear she had no interest in humoring his delusions.
Wei Changsheng’s expression twisted with anger at her continued silence. He clenched his fists, his aura flaring with a surge of fiery energy. "You dare ignore ? I’ll teach you a lesson you won’t forget!"
Without warning, he summoned a blazing fireball in his palm and hurled it directly at her.
Gu Jin, unbothered, raised a single hand and flicked her wrist.
A thick wall of erald-green plants surged upward from the ground, their vibrant leaves shimring with a faint magical aura.
The flas collided against the wall but, instead of igniting, the fire rely sputtered out, consud by the moisture within the plants. Not even a scorch mark remained.
Wei Changsheng’s smug expression faltered.
"What? That’s impossible! Plants should burn! You—"
Before he could finish, the very sa wall twisted and shifted, tendrils of vines unfurling with unnatural speed.
A thick vine shot from the base, wrapping around his ankle with a snap.
"What the—? Let go of !" he yelped, struggling to break free.
The vine tightened. Then, with a sudden, violent yank, Wei Changsheng was hoisted into the air.
"Ack! Stop! Put —"
He didn’t get the chance to finish.
The vines began thrashing him back and forth, slamming him against the polished marble floor with bone-rattling force. Once. Twice. Thrice.
Wei Changsheng’s shrill screams echoed through the chamber as he flailed helplessly, his robes now stained with dirt and his dignity shattered.
Each impact left him more bruised and disheveled, his earlier arrogance vanishing beneath sheer panic.
"Stop! I—I’m sorry! rcy!" he cried, struggling to conjure another fla, but the vines wrapped around his wrists as well, binding him completely.
Gu Jin finally spoke, her voice as cold as ice. "You threatened . You insulted . And now you attack . Did you think power is asured by loud words and reckless violence?"
The vines paused but did not release him. Instead, they dangled him upside down, his face inches from the ground, his nose almost brushing the marble floor.
"Who...who do you think you are? My father will hear of this! I’m the young master of the Wei family! You’re dead, you hear ?! Dead!"
Gu Jin raised a brow, unbothered.
"Let him hear it then. But next ti you raise a hand against , I won’t be so rciful."
With a dismissive gesture, the vines flung him toward the far end of the chamber where he collapsed in a heap, coughing and groaning.
For a mont, silence reigned.
