Gu Jin nodded with a gentle smile,

"Yes, really. But you need to trust and co with now. You look very weak and need proper food and rest."

The little girl hesitated for a mont but then nodded.

She tried to stand up but stumbled, her legs too weak to support her. Gu Jin quickly moved forward and caught her.

"Let help you," Gu Jin said softly, lifting the girl gently.

The girl felt surprisingly light, a stark reminder of how malnourished she was.

As they walked, Gu Jin kept talking to keep the girl distracted from her discomfort.

"Do you have a na?" she asked.

The girl nodded slowly, "Ying Yue. My na is Ying Yue."

"That’s a beautiful na," Gu Jin replied, "I’m Gu Jin. It’s nice to et you, Ying Yue."

Gu Jin wasn’t the type of person who was gentle. But for so reason, she couldn’t bear to be harsh on the little girl.

Ying Yue managed a small smile, feeling a flicker of hope for the first ti in days. She clung to Gu Jin.

Though she didn’t trust Gu Jin fully, she couldn’t help but hope for a miracle.

What to do? Now she doesn’t have anything to eat and no place to live.

The beautiful sister who was holding her had once helped her.

If she wanted to harm her, she would have hard her long ago!

When they first first t, she at least had weapons, which added so value to her.

But now...now she has nothing but the worst possible magic body.

The mont that thought appeared, Ying Yue hesitated.

Was that the reason why Gu Jin wanted to hire her?

Was she planning to groom her?

Well, it is understandable that Gu Jin might know her background and she expects her to be an excellent mage like her father.

But...

Should she...should she tell Gu Jin the truth?

After all, in this life, she could never beco a mage.

Gu Jin soon reached to the bustling streets and said,

"Why don’t we eat sothing first?"

Ying Yu hesitated before saying,

"I don’t have any money!"

Her ssage was clear, you will have to pay for if you want to feed .

Gu Jin chcukeld in her heart.

Ying Yue was too cute!

She suppressed the smile forming on her face and said,

"How about this I will deduct it from your salary later?"

"Salary?"

"Yes. Even though I don’t have much money, I can give you so money as the salary every month." Gu Jin said.

Ying Yue’s eyes brightened and she pointed at a small stall nearby,

"So what are we waiting for? Let’s go to that stall! The dumplings of that stall are amazing. Though they are a bit expensive, they are worth it!"

Gu Jin nodded, amused by Ying Yue’s sudden enthusiasm.

"Alright, let’s go to that stall."

As they approached the dumpling stall, the sll of freshly cooked food made Ying Yue’s stomach growl loudly again.

Gu Jin couldn’t help but chuckle softly.

"Two servings of your best dumplings, please," Gu Jin said to the vendor.

The vendor quickly prepared the order and handed over two steaming plates of dumplings.

Gu Jin paid for them, ignoring Ying Yue’s embarrassed look.

"Here you go," Gu Jin said, handing a plate to Ying Yue. "Enjoy."

Ying Yue took a small bite, savoring the taste.

She hadn’t had proper food in so long that it almost felt unreal. As she ate, she glanced at Gu Jin.

"Thank you," Ying Yue mumbled between bites, her voice barely audible.

"Take your ti and eat as much as you want." Gu Jin said with a small smile.

They sat down on a nearby bench, and Gu Jin watched as Ying Yue devoured the dumplings.

Despite her small fra, the girl had a hearty appetite, a testant to how hungry she had been.

As they ate, Gu Jin decided to address the elephant in the room.,

"Yue, where is your grandmother?"

She already knew the general situation but she still wanted to be confird.

She doesn’t want to be later arrested as a child trafficker.

Ying Yue paused and her eyes slowly turned red as tears welled up. She looked down at her plate, avoiding Gu Jin’s gaze.

"Grandma... Grandma passed away a few weeks ago," she said in a shaky voice.

"She was the only family I had left."

Gu Jin’s heart ached for the little girl. She reached out and gently placed a hand on Ying Yue’s shoulder.

Taking a deep breath, she asked,

"So if you stay with , there should be no problem, right?"

Ying Yue nodded.

Gu Jin nodded and asked her to eat.

After a few monts, Ying Yue took a deep breath and continued eating her dumplings.

Once Ying Yue finished eating, Gu Jin took her to Long Mansion.

Before entering Gu Jin had to register Ying Yue.

Ying Yue was very obedient during the entire process and cooperated with Gu Jin.

However, she couldn’t help but marvel at the grand mansion.

So beautiful!

She has never lived or seen such a grand mansion in her entire life!

Was she going to work as a maid here?

As if reading her thoughts Gu Jin chuckled and told her the truth,

"This mansion belongs to my savior. We won’t be staying here for long. However, I promise that soday we will have the sa type of mansion."

Ying Yue nodded.

In fact, she was already very satisfied if she could be given a small basent to live.

It was much better than living in a shelter made of scrap materials.

Not to ntion, in the past 3 days, she understood how bad a person’s life could be!

Gu Jin smiled at Ying Yue’s awe-struck expression as they walked through the grand halls of Long Mansion.

Ying Yue’s eyes widened at the lavish decorations and felt as if she had entered so kind of fairytale.

"Sister Gu, this place is amazing!" Ying Yue exclaid, her voice filled with wonder.

Gu Jin chuckled.

As they walked, Gu Jin led her to a cozy guest room, elegantly furnished but not overly extravagant.

"You can rest here for now," Gu Jin said, showing Ying Yue the room.

"It’s not as grand as the rest of the mansion, but it’s comfortable."

Just Gu Jin was about to leave, Ying Yue suddenly tugged on her skirt and stopped her.

"What happened?" Gu Jin was confused.

Along the way, she noticed that Ying Yue was the fearless type of girl.

Even though so many people stared at her, Ying Yu wasn’t scared.

Does Ying Yue is scared to live alone?

"Sister Jin, why are you...so good to ?" Ying Yue asked in a hesitant voice.

Even though Gu Jin said she wanted to hire her, Ying Yue knew that no one would hire a child until and unless they worked for so evil organization.

But from Gu Jin’s aura, it is clear that she doesn’t belong to such an organization.

Ying Yue guessed in her mind though.

If what she thinks is true and Gu Jin is indeed after her magic potential then she would be greatly disappointed once she knows the truth...

Ying Yue couldn’t imagine how much sad Gu Jin would be.

Gu Jin unaware of Ying Yue’s thoughts, made a random excuse,

"Your magic potential. I think you have good magic potential."

Ying Yue’s face turned pale.

She gritted her teeth secretly and decided to act as if she didn’t know about her body type.

Even though she knew that it was bad to deceive, she couldn’t support herself and could only rely on Gu Jin for the ti being.

Once she is healed, she will write a letter explaining the truth to Gu Jin and run away.

And one day if she becos a powerful person she will repay Gu Jin.

If Gu Jin knew that her random excuse had caused so much suffering for Ying Yue, she would curse herself!

Why was her luck so bad?

Gu Jin didn’t see Ying Yue gritting her teeth, instead, she heard Ying Yue’s soft voice,

"Okay. I am tired. I will sleep."

Gu Jin was stunned.

Just now Ying Yue’s tone was so energetic, why did it suddenly turn so gloomy?

Did she perhaps offend her?

Or maybe she is just exhausted...

Gu Jin decided to let Ying Yue rest for now.

It was not like she would run away.

Now she needs to think what she should do about Ying Yue.

At the sa ti, Gu Jin was thinking of leaving the Long Mansion.

Within a year Jasmine will be cured and then she will have to move out.

It is better to prepare in advance.

Thank god the head butler didn’t have any problem with Gu Jin bringing Ying Yue with her.

He even prepared a room for her.

He was truly a kindhearted person when he didn’t poke his nose in others’ business!
