Interdiate rank could only level up the height to a certain degree. From 300, it may have transford into 400 cm(around 13 feet). But that is all!

The tree surrounding them was at least 20 feet high! How could Gu Jin’s vines be enough?

Gu Jin focused her energy on the vines.

Of course, normal plant elents could only rise to a certain distance but the advantage of mutated plant elents was... they could rise to double the height of a normal plant elent.

aning Gu Jin could easily raise her vines up to 800 cm(sowhere around 26 feet).

Hence Yi Ran who was slowly about to reach the branch of the tree was shocked.

"Have you reached?" Gu Jin shouted.

Yi Ran, still in disbelief, nodded slowly as she grasped the tree branch above her.

"Almost there!" she called back, her voice tinged with amazent.

Gu Jin continued to focus her energy, willing the vines to extend further and further, reaching toward the treetops.

Finally, Yi Ran reached the highest point of the vines, grabbing onto the thick branches of the tree with a sense of relief.

Gu Jin withdrew the vine from Yi Ran’s waist after Yi Ran properly stood up on the branch.

Just as she was focusing on withdrawing the vines, she sensed danger coming near her,

Gu Jin tried to dodge the attack but with her attention on withdrawing the vines, she wasn’t able to react quickly enough.

Suddenly, a mutated red-eyed deer leaped out from the bushes, its sharp antlers aid directly at Gu Jin.

In that split second, Zhang Wei sprang into action, casting a protective earth barrier around Gu Jin just in ti to deflect the deer’s attack.

The barrier shimred with magical energy as the deer’s antlers clashed against it, sending sparks flying in all directions.

Gu Jin stumbled backward, her heart racing with adrenaline as she realized just how close she had co to being impaled.

However, she didn’t let it show on her face and only nodded at Zhang Wei.

"Keep on going I will protect you." Zhang Wei said.

He was an advanced rank mage with many years of experience and his cultivation was much higher than others.

Gu Jin shifted her gaze to the other mbers and one by one she used her plant vines to lift them onto the branches of the nearest trees.

Finally, only Gu Jin and Zhang Wei remained.

Zhang Wei kept on fighting as he said,

"Jin, you go and then pull up otherwise there will be no one to protect you."

Gu Jin stared at Zhang Wei who was on the verge of collapsing.

She knew that the person who remained the last would most likely die.

Why?

The red color that was emitted from the ground had now turned into a blood-red color, aning the psychic array was about to be activated.

However...

"I can also use 2 vines at a ti."

Without giving Zhang Wei any ti, she wrapped the green vines around his and her waist and lifted them up.

The mutated red-eyed deer seeing their prey running beca agitated and started charging towards Gu Jin and Zhang Wei.

With a burst of strength fueled by adrenaline, Gu Jin pulled herself and Zhang Wei up onto the tree branch just as the mutated red-eyed deer reached them.

The creatures snarled and leaped, their sharp antlers glinting in the dim light, but Gu Jin and Zhang Wei were safe for the mont, high above the forest floor.

Gu Jin who was tired, finally sat down.

Zhang Wei on the other hand stared at Gu Jin for a minute or two, before moving away from his eyes.

He must say that this brother was truly very smart.

Zhang Wei and Gu Jin were sitting on a branch. Yi Ran and Tang Guan were on the other while Liu Sunhao and Xu Mingtao were sitting on the other.

Whoosh.

Whoosh.

As the psychic array activated with a nacing whoosh, a palpable tension filled the air.

Gu Jin’s heart raced as she felt the sinister energy emanating from the ground, enveloping the forest in its dark influence.

Zhang Wei’s expression hardened as he surveyed their surroundings, his mind racing with thoughts of how to overco this new threat.

The creatures below them seed to sense the array’s activation, their movents growing more frenzied and aggressive as they charged blindly toward the source of the energy.

"We can’t let them reach the center of the array," Yi Ran said, her voice tinged with concern.

Zhang Wei nodded, his eyes narrowing as he focused on the approaching horde of creatures.

"We’ll have to hold them off while we search for a way to deactivate the array," he said, his voice steady despite the danger that lood before them.

Gu Jin calmly said,

"It’s too late."

Zhang Wei turned to look at Gu Jin.

"We can’t stop them even if we used our entire force. We can only delay them from entering the array."

"How?" Zhang Wei asked.

Gu Jin shifted her gaze from the ground to Zhang Wei and looked at him in confusion.

Zhang Wei asked,

"How can we delay them."

"We will completely run out of energy." Gu Jin inford.

"It’s alright! Just tell ! Fast!" Zhang Wei said in a panicked tone.

Gu Jin told her plan,

"Yi Ran will calm down the mutated red-eyed deer. It would be best if you could stop them for 10 seconds."

Her second sentence was directed at Yi Ran.

Yi Ran nodded,

"Hm!"

She turned towards Zhang Wei and continued,

"Dig a circular shape hole around the array. Make it wide."

"But the area is too wide!" Xu Mingtao said worriedly.

"Like I told you earlier all the energy will be drained." Gu Jin said lazily.

Zhang Wei agreed,

"Alright!"

Gu Jin continued,

"Xu Mingtao you would fill the water in the circular hole dug around the array."

"Alright!" Xu Mingtao agreed.

"Liu Sunhao will channel the lighting elent in the water. I would create a plant-shaped barrier around the array and Tang Guan you are responsible for killing the mutated red-eyed deers who would escape all of these arrangents."

Zhang Wei was surprised by Gu Jin’s plan.

If executed properly, the array would be surrounded by 2 layers of defense making it difficult for the mutated red-eyed deer to enter.

At the sa ti, any slip-up could be covered by Tang Guan.

Even though it wasn’t a top-class plan, it was an excellent one at least!

"Alright, let’s do it," he said, his voice filled with determination.

With a sense of urgency, the group sprang into action, each mber carrying out their assigned tasks with precision and skill.

Yi Ran focused her psychic energy, calming the mutated red-eyed deer and preventing them from charging recklessly toward the array.

anwhile, Zhang Wei worked to dig a wide circular hole around the periter of the array, the earth trembling beneath their feet as they carved out the trench.

Once the hole was dug, Xu Mingtao filled it with water, creating a moat-like barrier that surrounded the array on all sides.

With the water in place, Liu Sunhao channeled his lightning elent, sending bolts of electricity crackling through the water and creating a powerful electrical barrier that pulsed with energy.

Gu Jin stood on the branch, her hands outstretched as she summoned her plant magic, weaving a dense barrier of vines and thorns around the periter, further reinforcing the defensive line.

"Are you done?" Yi Ran asked breathing heavily.

She was hardly able to hold on.

"Done!" Xu Mingtao and Liu Sunhao said.

Whoosh.

Those mutated deers who had hardly cald down, slowly returned to their frenzied state.

One by one they started running towards the psychic array.

Gu Jin didn’t relax at all. Every foolproof plan has an error.

Most of the mutated deer died or got injured when they tried to cross the small river made by Zhang Wei and Xu Mingtao.

So smart ones tried to leap and enter the circle, however the plant wall created by Gu Jin was so high, that they weren’t able to enter the circle at all.

Of course, so tried to climb through or threw each other in the hopes of crossing over the plant wall and so indeed succeeded.

However, Tang Guan dealt with those who entered the circle by throwing fireballs.

But despite his best efforts, the mutated red-eyed deer continued to press forward, their numbers seemingly endless as they surged toward the array with reckless abandon.

Zhang Wei gritted his teeth, his mind racing as he searched for a way to hold them off.

"We need to buy more ti," he said, his voice tense with urgency.

Gu Jin turned toward Zhang Wei and asked,

"Do you have a cell phone?"

Zhang Wei who was panting due to how much mana he used nodded.

"Call soone for help."

"No one will help." Zhang Wei gritted his teeth.

Gu Jin raised an eyebrow.
