Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Great Wilderness

[Sacrificial Spirit]

[Wish Power: 78 points]

On the panel, New Life’s profession, like the other two items, is quite simple.

As Qin Jin’s gaze focused on the words Sacrificial Spirit, light haloed around, and information lingered in his heart.

Qin Jin closed his eyes, carefully comprehending, and after about a dozen breaths, he opened his eyes.

He looked at the golden thread in his palm and murmured to himself, "This power, acquired through sacrificial rites from living beings, is called Wish Power."

"This is solid extraordinary power, no wonder it can affect Life Energy."

"Consuming this power can accomplish quite a few things."

"The non-human appearance of Deep Drillers prevented them from seeing

as kin, choosing instead to worship."

"So, am I now... a cha-type Sacrificial Spirit?"

Through the profession panel, he had already understood the relevant information about the Sacrificial Spirit profession.

Sacrificial Spirit is a peculiar connection between the Human Race of this world and extraordinary creatures. The Human Race worships and offers sacrifices to the Sacrificial Spirit.

The Sacrificial Spirit provides protection to the Human Race, during which the Sacrificial Spirit holds the dominant position and takes the opportunity to grow.

The Deep Driller underwent slight changes under the influence of Wish Power, but everything centered around himself. This Wish Power was at his command, and if he changed cha, he could retrieve the Wish Power and bestow it upon the new cha.

Qin Jin’s gaze was directed at the crowd prostrate before him.

The golden thread in his palm flickered slightly, and voices seed to erge from the void, reaching his ears.

"Ancestors bless us, we’ve found a new Lord Sacrificial Spirit."

"The new Lord Sacrificial Spirit is so tall."

"This Lord Sacrificial Spirit seems not easy to communicate with."

"So hungry, so hungry, I’m really starving..."

"I really want to drink beast milk."

"Father, isn’t Father really coming back?"

Those voices were so complete, so fragnted.

Those were their inner voices.

The souls of the Human Race offer their devout faith in sacrifice to the Sacrificial Spirit, thus forming a mystical connection with the Sacrificial Spirit.

Under the blessing of Wish Power, Qin Jin could hear their hearts and engage in ntal communication.

"Originally I planned to record their language and script, bring it back for decryption before communicating with them, but that’s unnecessary now."

A thought turned in his mind, and Qin Jin tentatively manipulated the Wish Power.

A golden pattern at Deep Driller’s chest shimred, dimming slightly while a faint radiance erged around the crowd.

Before Qin Jin arrived here, they had already clashed with the Fire Python, resulting in considerable casualties.

Now, the injuries on those elders began to recover under the shroud of mist.

For Qin Jin, this new Sacrificial Spirit, although unable to perform miraculous feats, healing so injuries was no longer a problem.

Glows circled, and Wish Power was consud, leaving 55 points.

Those elders who received healing appeared increasingly devout, bowing repeatedly.

Qin Jin’s expression was calm as Deep Driller’s right arm rose with his movent, pointing to one side at the Fire Python.

His voice, under the blessing of Wish Power, carried authority and erged through his heart’s voice.

"Clean it up."

This was Qin Jin’s first sentence.

Upon his words, the leading elder, who was the first to worship, was montarily startled but then showed joy, quickly turning around to choose a few people to work.

Those selected didn’t dare delay, imdiately starting to clean up, collecting the blood, skin, at, and bones of the Fire Snake separately.

Qin Jin first cast his gaze over everyone, finally resting on the leading elder, and the voice of his heart resounded again.

"Others go rest."

"I have so questions to ask you."

Hearing this, the elder’s deanor beca solemn.

Others obeyed, as a big battle had left them with corpses of their kin to handle, leaving only the elder in place.

The elder stood straight, seriously saluting Deep Driller, reverently addressing in his heart, "Lord Sacrificial Spirit."

Deep Driller lowered its head to look at him.

The massive chanical entity brought a great sense of oppression.

"Na, and your origins."

"The old

is nad Qi Chuan."

"We co from the Sacrificial Fire Tribe."

His voice carried a hint of sadness: "The tribe was broken, and our tribe’s forr Lord Sacrificial Spirit fell. We fled for several tens of days before reaching here..."

Facing the "Lord Sacrificial Spirit" who established a connection, Qi Chuan’s attitude was sincere, earnestly telling all he knew.

Qin Jin occasionally spoke, inquiring further, quickly understanding everything.

According to Qi Chuan, this region was called the Great Wilderness.

His Sacrificial Fire Tribe, originally a large tribe with tens of thousands of people.

Their Sacrificial Spirit was called Stone Saint, a steep, curious stone that gained sentience and ford a bond with the ancestors of the Sacrificial Fire Tribe, being worshipped and offered for years, growing ever stronger, guarding the tribe.

However, the Sacrificial Fire Tribe faced an assault from an Ancient Relic Species deep within the Great Wilderness, extrely fierce. The Sacrificial Spirit Stone Saint was dismbered and thus fell, leading to nurous tribe mbers’ deaths, with the surviving tribesn fleeing in all directions.

This group originally also had over a hundred people, but the journey fleeing encountered dangers many tis. The young and strong were the main combat force, wearing down along the way, leaving only the current elders, won, and children.

In the cockpit, Qin Jin pondered for a mont and posed a question.

"How do you improve yourselves?"

"Herbal baths for tempering, forging Treasure Blood."

Qi Chuan answered honestly, "The tribe has specialized Hunting Teams that venture into the Great Wilderness to gather Treasure dicine, hunt Fierce Beasts, and tribespeople use them for cultivation."

"Tribespeople with extrely outstanding talents may even condense Treasure Skills using Fierce Beast Treasure Blood."

"Is that all?"

Qin Jin’s eyes narrowed slightly, "Don’t the people of the Sacrificial Fire Tribe have a Cultivation Technique?"

"Cultivation Technique?"

Qi Chuan’s old face took on a confused look. After thinking for a mont, he hesitantly asked, "Do you an the True Scripture?"

"In the ancient remnants of legend, deep within the Great Wilderness, there’s a Divine Country established by human ancestors. If one finds it, they would receive the True Scripture, embarking on an extraordinary Cultivation Path."

"But as far as I’ve heard and seen, it’s just a legend, no one has ever truly found the Divine Country."

In the cockpit, Qin Jin’s eyes shone with contemplation.

"The worldview of this land is sowhat similar to the Lower Realm depicted in mory, in past life’s novels where the Desolate Celestial Emperor originated, but slightly different."

"Deep within the Great Wilderness, there are possibly extraordinary existences, but as seen from tribes like the Sacrificial Fire Tribe, humanity’s combat strength is limited, necessitating Sacrificial Spirit protection."

"This does explain one issue."

"No wonder they chose to worship

after seeing

deal with the Fire Snake."

"This group, on their journey, has been weakened to the extre. In their eyes, I am an extraordinary creature with comndable combat prowess, becoming their only choice, their last lifeline."

"However, Sacrificial Spirits are often non-human beings. Can they not cultivate human Sacrificial Spirits through worshiping tribespeople?"

"I am also a human, yet beca a Sacrificial Spirit, is it due to my uniqueness?"

"The profession panel? Or because I’m an Otherworldly visitor?"

While Qin Jin was contemplating.

Seeing the Sacrificial Spirit Lord, with whom they were communicating, suddenly fall silent, Qi Chuan’s face showed turbulence, with a hint of nervousness, quickly addressing in his heart, "Lord Sacrificial Spirit."

"Please do not abandon us!"

"Though our group is small, most of us were once part of the tribe’s Hunting Teams in our youth. Even as old bones, we can hunt Fierce Beasts and offer them to you."

"Among the children traveling with us, several have good potential, who can grow to be helpful aids to you, providing more Wish Power."

"Many in the tribe escaped, and we left plenty of marks along the way to regroup with them and gradually strengthen, providing more assistance to you."

"You are quite earnest."

Qin Jin’s thoughts voiced.

Upon hearing the voices in his heart reappear, Qi Chuan actually breathed a sigh of relief, bitterly smiling and sighing deeply, "In the Great Wilderness, Sacrificial Spirit Lords like you, who communicate, are not many."

"Lord Stone Saint was a stone that evolved, inherently stable and calm. It was because of it that the Sacrificial Fire Tribe could grow steadily."

"But from when I was young till now, having visited many tribes and remote villages, Sacrificial Spirits are varied, with many not fond of communication, inherently violent, including so that feed on the Human Race, needing offerings of flesh and blood."

"Yet the Great Wilderness is fraught with peril, only with Sacrificial Spirits’ protection do pockets of haven exist."

"Not to hide from you."

His voice was sincere: "Seeing you appear on your own, I rely wanted to take a chance, for our tribespeople no longer possess the strength to confront formidable foes."

"But as of now, this might be our best choice."
