The attackers pressed forward, their movents more erratic now as they attempted to find him, but he took the ti to get himself prepared, working to calm himself down. After all, an erratic heart rate could throw his aim off by a mile. He needed to ensure that he was completely on target.

*Bam!*

"Gah!~"

Another fell to Jason’s unerring aim, and the remaining two exchanged nervous glances. Jason could hear their breathing now, ragged and panicked. It was close now. He was glad he had taken Troy’s gun. He was also wondering what the man was doing at that mont.

"Fall back!" one of them shouted, but it was too late. Jason erged from the smoke like a spectre, his gun barking twice more.

*Bang! Bang!*

Silence fell.

Jason surveyed the room, his chest rising and falling with adrenaline-fueled breaths. He was so glad he was sowhat superhuman. He was also glad the Killer’s ntality had been put into him. Otherwise, he would have been heavily affected by this kind of bloody scene with eight dead bodies on the floor.

The place that must have been an incredible factory once, was now was a battlefield, littered with bodies and debris. He turned to Troy, who was sitting upright against a pillar, a smirk playing on his lips despite the blood staining his shirt.

Jason’s eyes narrowed. "You’re bleeding."

Troy’s smirk widened. "Am I?"

Jason crouched beside him, inspecting the wound. ANd then his eyes narrowed even more as he turned his head to the smirk. The blood wasn’t real. It was a staged injury, designed to distract.

This bastard… Jason had thought he was injured before and that was why he had dragged him away. But now it was obvious that this man was faking everything.

"You son of a—" Jason began, but Troy cut him off with a laugh.

"Relax, Jason. Just a little insurance to keep things interesting." Troy said, putting his hands up. He would be an idiot not to. Jason had over three bullets in that last gun he was carrying.

Jason’s jaw tightened. "You knew this was going to happen, didn’t you?"

Troy shrugged. "Let’s just say I had a hunch."

A hunch? This bastard...

Jason’s mind raced. The attackers had been rcenaries, highly trained and well-coordinated. Soone had orchestrated this, and it wasn’t Troy. At least that was what the man was telling him… But by now, if Jason trusted him, he would be an idiot.

Troy was intelligent. If he wanted to capture Jason he would do it in a way that would make it seem like they were captured together all so that he would build trust and maybe get to the people behind Jason. After all, a lot could happen in a place where there was nobody, and they could only trust each other.

Jason could already imagine it. Being locked up together, Jason might just reveal everything he knew to this man. However there was also another option, and that was the fact that Troy had orchestrated it all to just have a hit at Jason. At the last mont, Troy would take Jason down and then go ahead and have him tortured.

But if that was the case why not hold him at gunpoint from the mont he entered the place? There were just too many ideas... FOr now it might be better to follow along with Troy’s logic, just to see where it leads. Jason was not going to expose his suspicions. After all this was going to be his new friend and business partner.

"There’s a mole," Jason said aloud, acting as if the realisation hit him like a punch to the gut. "Soone on the inside. You have enemies on the inside."

Troy’s smirk faltered, just for a mont. "Seems that way." Jason nodded. Either that or this was an elaborate play. Whatever it was, you got the answer you wanted.

Before Jason could press him further, the sound of approaching sirens filled the air. He stood, his mind already calculating his next move. He needed to get the fuck away from here. And fast.

Troy’s voice stopped him. "You’re not going to leave here, are you?"

Jason looked down at him, his expression unreadable. "You’ll live. Don’t you have a connection to the police station? The Snake Gan is not the leader of the city by joke after all. I believe in your capacity to make it through."

As he turned and disappeared into the smoke-filled hall, Troy’s laughter followed him a haunting sound that clung to the air like a ghost.

"I guess we’ll continue our conversation another ti," Troy called out from inside the factory as Jason walked out. Jason didn’t reply.

What a waste of ti. All of that was a waste of ti. That was the one thing Jason was thinking as he stepped out of the factory, fixing his clothes on his body as he sighed. He had just killed people... Damn it... Well, they tried to kill him... so it must be fine, right?

Jason stepped into the night, the cold air biting against his skin. His mind churned with questions, but one thought stood out above the rest. What was Troy playing at?

And more importantly, Why did it feel like he was already one step behind?

Jason began walking off into the distance, looking like a normal man who was walking around in the night. Well, how normal could he look as soone dressed in a nice suit in such a place? As he walked along he saw a cop car coming and cald himself down using an anchor he had set on himself, putting his index on his thumb.

Okay, Jason, it’s showti.

Jason casually looked at the approaching cop car, walking by in silence, but then suddenly the car stopped, and a woman got out, looking at this man walking in a nice suit in this place that was dingy and dirty.

He looked out of place.

And to cops like them, out of place was cause for suspicion and concern. Jason looked at the police officer, smirking when he saw her approach. But inside he was cursing.

Damn it. He had gotten the attention of another woman because of his handso looks. How was he going to get out of trouble this ti?

She was a police officer with a mane rich with auburn hair, and it frad her gorgeous chiselled features, she looked like a fiery goddess even in her police uniform, which was tight on her body. Or maybe it was her body that was full of her uniform.

As she walked towards him, the fabric on her body clung to her body, revealing muscular curves and the flattering hourglass figure that demanded every bit of Jason’s attention. She had a piercing gaze that bore into Jason, and the light that ca from behind her was incredible, making it seem like she was descending from a holy place.

She confidently ca to a stop, looking Jason up and down for a mont, before asking him a question. "Are you okay? Is there sothing wrong?"

"Oh, I’m fine," Jason said with a smirk, as he ca to a stop. He made sure to keep his body language open, his chest out, his hands outside his pockets and showing his palms… This was a signal to her that he had nothing to hide.

But in actuality, he had just killed six people, and he had two guns in his blazer, hidden and out of view so that Troy didn’t use them to make his lie difficult. If Troy had those guns, he might use them to do so really interesting stuff and he did not need that kind of thing happening at all.

She looked at him with narrowed eyes and then nodded. "We received word of so shot being fired in the vicinity. This place is unsafe. I advise you to go ho. Do you need a lift? Or a taxi?"

"Yeah, I’ll grab a taxi later on. Thank you for offering." Jason said that and smiled courteously to her.

"Are you sure?" she asked again, her eyes going towards Jason’s knees and seeing the dirt on them. It seed he was kneeling, dirtying his suit. "What happened here?"

Jason heard those words and then he sighed. "I had a terrible night… You know one of those nights where nothing goes your way, where you just need to offload so ntal stress… That was just part of the reason why I was taking a walk. I fell at so point, and I ended up laughing at myself. I an think about it. How bad is my luck if everything I do keeps getting ssed up like that?"

She gazed at him and nodded. "I’m sorry to hear that. I hope you have a good night from now on"

"Oh, I know it will," Jason said with a smirk. "This too shall pass. That was sothing my father taught a long ti ago."

She smirked, and nodded again, turning to walk away. Jason watched her leave, glimpsing at the cop in the car who was looking at him as if he had just taken a bit of his food. Damn bro, I’m just admiring your coworker. Sorry. She’s really pretty bro. You’re lucky to be working with her.

After she entered her car, Jason walked away. He waved at her from outside her window while walking away and she looked at him with an odd smile.

As the cop watched him leave, her instincts scread to her... There was sothing suspicious about that man…. "Let’s go, Garcia."

"Yes, boss."

After the car started driving away, they soon arrived at the scene and seeing the six dead n, she frowned. This was pretty ssed up. It seed like gang violence, but these n were well-ard. rcenaries? Or maybe it was sothing else.

After analysing the scene she soon realised sothing… sothing that chilled her to quietness. There was a spot here where she had deducted the man who was getting attacked to have been kneeling… And when she saw it she couldn’t help but think about the man from before… He also had marks from kneeling on the floor…

But that man had told her he had fallen... Could it be he was lying... There was no way, was there? Was it possible that she had found the murderer only to let him go? The woman imdiately turned and left, and when she did, her partner turned to her.

"What’s going on?!"

"Garcia... sothings wrong... Rember that guy we t in the suit?"

"The one who was googling your ass in those tight black pants?" the man said with a faint sneer. The woman turned to him and rolled her eyes.

"Sure, sure… He might have been here. He might have been part of this,"

"What? We have to go back there and find him!"

"No, he’s long gone by now. At least he would be an idiot to still be around. and judging from his acting skills, there was no way he was an idiot," she said with a sigh. This type of violence was terrifying.

She hated criminals with a passion. If she ever saw the man ever again, she would destroy him. Little did she know she would see him, and very soon.
