[Morning, Jason]
[I hope you have a good, productive day today.]
[Peace, love and kindness]
Jason smirked when he read this. She did this almost every day. It was cute. Jason decided to send her a ssage.
[Emily, I feel like I never say this enough, but I genuinely appreciate you. From the things you say to the way you present. You have always been you. I love that about you.]
After sending that ssage and putting his phone away, Jason was surprised when suddenly a response ca.
[What are you saying~?! (keep saying it!)]
Yeah… fuck no.
After making an offer like that, complinting you, what I need to do next is to give you the option of getting more of it, but only if you do exactly what I want of you. Jason thought this far as he thought of a reply to give.
What that ant was that since Jason was already in a situation in which he was in there, he wanted to lead her into thinking that if she ever wanted to get more rewards from him, she had to get them only if she was with Jason, around Jason and in Jason’s vicinity.
And that would only happen if she ca out with him.
[Forget that. I have a selfish request. I want to see you tonight. Can you let ? I promise I will have you ho within 20 minutes.]
Within a few seconds again, there was a reply.
[I don’t know… My dad never lets leave after 8 pm. Can I see you tomorrow instead?]
Jason saw this and that was also the mont he realised another small little thing he could work at. As long as he broke this resistance, as long as he made her co out, would she not be going against her dad, and then be in his hands?
After all, she had toldhimi, in a not-so-forward way, that her dad was mostly overprotective. And it ant that she was looking at him and looking at everyone else in a way that was looking at the things he was looking at in a way that was going to make sothing happen.
Thinking this far, Jason waited 2 minutes, thinking about the words he was going to say, before finally nodding. He was not going to text her. He was going to call her. That way she would know he was serious.
Jason sighed... Shy girls were so annoying. And then, as he arrived at Veronica’s ho, he stepped out of the car, went inside, and greeted Veronica, telling her he would be down in a few, before heading over to his room and calling Emily.
"Jason?! You called …"
"That’s right, Emily. I wanted to hear you say those words to yourself. Tell how you don’t want to see ."
"NO! I… I do, it’s just that My dad is—"
"Your dad cares about you and he just wants you to be safe, am I right?" Jason said, rolling his eyes. Yeah right... it was more like he was soone who cherished his wife who passed away, and now his overprotectiveness and controlling behaviour have projected over to her daughter.
"That’s… right… That’s why I wanted to have the date tomorrow if possible."
"Date? I never said anything about a date." Jason said with a smirk, making her squirm on the other side of the line. Jason chuckled. "Don’t get wrong. I want to go on dates with you. It’s just that, I missed you and I wanted to see you. I was being selfish, you can forget about it..."
"No! Jason! I… I can go out. I’ll tell him I’m going to the convenience store. Will you be around?"
Jason smiled when he heard these words. "Really? Are you sure? I don’t want to get you in trouble."
"It’s okay, I won’t get in trouble as long I go back in a few minutes. And I… wanted to see you too, so you’re not being selfish," she said, the last part coming out like a whisper. Jason chuckled when he heard that.
"Okay. Why don’t we et outside the convenience store I used to work at? We’ll take a walk a bit, and I’ll take you ho. At least as close as I can get before your dad starts freaking out at ," Jason said with a smirk.
She giggled for a mont, laughing at Jason’s words."You’re so funny, Jason. I doubt he would do anything I like that. I already told him about what I and so of the other neighbours felt about how things worked out with you. It was ssed up, and if possible I would love to take it all back... But you seem to be doing so well now. I doubt you would live in a place like ours-"
"I’d live anywhere you are," Jason said before she could continue. She kept quiet for a long while, and Jason was sure that she might have been having heart palpitations on the other end of the line. "Anyway, I’ll see you there, okay?"
"S-Sure. S-See you later," she said with a voice that was as quiet as a mosquito.
Jason ended the call with a smirk. Finally, he was going to start working on that girl. This was a good thing for him. As long as he could make her need him often, he could finally get sothing out of it.
Jason looked in the mirror, noticing the lipstick still on his neck. Damn it. Had Veronica seen it?
He took a quick shower, then went downstairs in casual clothes. He paused, looking at Veronica on the sofa. Maybe he should say hi before he left.
Jason walked over, leaning over her shoulder. "Miss ?"
"You have no idea," she replied, turning to him. Her face changed instantly, eyes widening. Had she said that out loud?
Jason’s smile was amused. Seeing it, Veronica got a bit angry, leaning away. "I thought you were going to work on your automation. But when you walked in with that lipstick, I knew exactly what you were doing."
She looked at him inquisitively. Jason smirked. "Haha, it was just so strawberry juice that fell on my neck—"
"I never said it was on your neck~," Veronica said with a smirk that wasn’t a smirk. Before Jason could lie, she leaned close. "Hey, who is this woman? Can you tell about her? I worry sotis that your actions might jeopardize your standing in the company."
Jason stared at her in wonder. Damn. She genuinely cared about him. She wasn’t just saying things. She was worried.
Jason crouched down to her level, smiling. "Veronica… You have no idea how happy I am to hear that. When you tell you care, it makes so happy. I don’t even know how to express it."
Veronica blushed, backing off the couch. "What are you saying? I’m being serious!"
"I’m serious too. The fact that you care makes happy. And I want to make you happy too. So if there’s anything I can do, please let know. And I will do it."
Veronica found herself unable to speak as she looked into Jason’s eyes. In the next mont, she sighed.
"Just stay out of trouble! That’s all I’m saying. After all, your boss just invited out for dinner. Who knows what she wants to discuss with ." Veronica said with an exasperated sigh.
Jason smirked. Was Veronica trying to get information from his boss? Funnily enough Samantha, his boss, was trying to get information out of Veronica too. Veronica was also trying to get information from him. Damn, there was a big ga happening, and he was at the centre of it.
"Well, then she must be trying to connect with you. And it’s probably about ," Jason said, going around the sofa and grabbing her hands, making her sit down next to him.
"Look, Veronica, I… have a few secrets. I will tell you about them one day. I hope you can give ti to work out the words."
Veronica looked at him with a profound expression, hearing those words. She didn’t know what to say. But Jason didn’t need her to say anything. He just needed her to be in this mont, to look at him, and say nothing.
Jason and Veronica stayed like that before Veronica rembered the mark on Jason’s neck. "You thought I would forget about the lipstick?"
Jason let his tongue out of his mouth before getting up. "Well, what can I do? The woman I want doesn’t want anything to do with . I can only make do with other won."
Jason smirked as he got up quickly and walked backwards toward the door, not even letting her talk or say anything. "Enjoy your night, Veronica."
After Jason left, Veronica sat in silence, unsure what to say or do. She was not happy that Jason was seeing other won. But she didn’t know how to say this. Veronica was not an idiot; she understood her own feelings.
She might be acting like she was worried about his situation at work, but actually, it had more to do with the won he was seeing in his life.
Veronica had complicated feelings for this man. It was obvious to her now. She wanted to work on these feelings and see if she could resolve them. Until that mont, she would just have to keep them to herself.
