"Are you Jason Cross?" said one of the females sitting there. She had been busy with her phone, but when she looked up to admire his face, she soon found herself being taken away by not the handsoness but the mories that ca to her at that mont.

Jason looked at her and then smiled. It was ti to make a move. Well, they were all going to find out in the future anyway. It was not about concealing his past but giving him a good foundation to reshape for his future.

"That’s right. I’m Jason Cross. Although nobody rembers since that is old news. And I am a new person. I will be a person that will change this place. I ant that."

"Jason Cross? Who’s Jason Cross?" said one of the others, who had been typing away.

"Oh, you know… The Cross family? Super rich, super wealthy! They are pretty famous too."

"Oh! So he’s a rich kid?"

"No, that’s the thing! He used to be rich. But he got kicked out!" the woman said, admiring Jason once more before sighing in regret. If he was so handso and so rich too, then that would have made him at least fuckable... But now... He was just a little bit look-able and nothing else.

Jason watched as everyone aired his dirty laundry. People normally did this often, even without knowing. They liked seeing others suffering because it made them feel better about their less-than-optimal situations. This was Schadenfreude.

"Will the Cross Family cause us trouble?" soone asked with a bit of interest.

"Well, it doesn’t matter. Ms Samantha’s family are pretty high up too. They won’t dare."

"Jason, will you ever be accepted back into your family? If so, I might consider dating you, especially since you have such a handso face and an ambitious personality," said soone half jokingly. Everyone stared at the woman, seeing the smile on her face as she tried to put on a good first impression.

Jason smirked. "Ambition is sothing I have cultivated in all this ti. And whether or not I will be going into my family is not important. What is important is the fact that I do not have to." After saying that, Jason said, "I will surpass them."

Surpass? Everyone looked at Jason and then they all looked at each other… Yeah, okay. This guy was delusional.

Everyone returned back to work, laughing among themselves as they all welcod Jason in a lacklustre fashion. Even the girl who was batting her eyes at him only a mont before was now glued to her screen.

Jason’s smirk never left his face in all this ti. Whatever. They did not understand. The harder he tried to make them understand, the less aningful his words would seem. He had to make it aningful by building a body of work for himself and for them to see. It would not even take a long ti.

After saying that, Jason then turned to the Team Leader, seeing the look of concern in his eyes, and understanding that this softish team leader might be the most decent person here.

"Anyway, Jason’s new. Again, Welco Jason. Feel free to take that place over there, and then we’ll get you set up. After that, I will assign soone to show you around the system, and also give you the docunts you need to get started."

Jason then turned to them and then looked at them saying nothing else and after a while he looked at everything, he was going to make it make sense.

Jason looked at the person who was chosen, the person who would sit behind him, a person nad Chow Lee, an interesting na for a man with such dark skin and curly black hair. He looked more like people from the North than the people from here.

"Hi, Jason Cross," Jason said holding his hand out, which Chow Lee shook in the next mont.

"Chow Lee. Mom was pretty impressive when it ca to the na. I was pretty impressed when it ca to owning it. It’s nice to et you, Jason. Everyone might look down on you for being arrogant, but I think it’s pretty cool that you want to try your best. Go for it!"

Jason chuckled. "Thanks, bro. Hearing that from a senior ans a lot to . I hope I can ask you for tips and tricks often from now on."

"Sure. Anyti." Chow Lee said this casually, but little did he know that Jason was serious. He was going to ask Chow Lee a ton of questions, and all of it was not to annoy him, but to put Chow Lee in the position of a ntor in his mind when he thought of Jason.

This was just a long-term Plan. Within a few weeks, Jason would turn things around. Everyone would know his na here.

Thereafter, CHow Lee took his ti, showing him around the system, and teaching him how to use the tools and other things. He then sent him so onboarding docunts and told Jason to read through them, with Jason thanking him for his patience.

Saying thank you for the efforts of others was such a simple thing. It would make them feel like Jason was a good guy. Not that he wasn’t. he was just trying to control the impression everyone had of him. After all, the first week was more about networking and getting to know people.

There was nothing else to be done. He was going to be doing nothing much, and that was the thing he managed to get done. He finally got it done.

After that, Jason and Chow Lee walked around and Chow showed him around the offices, departnts and teams, telling him what they did. Jason’s team was dealing with the Ads and Creatives. He was being sent there to get a good taste of everything that was happening in the company. It would be a good place for him to learn and to breed sothing really good for the company to grow.

Jason looked at him and then looked around, noticing the board room where Samantha was sitting there looking serious and he couldn’t help but admire her work ethic. There was sothing about won who were focused on their jobs that Jason found attractive.

Jason then walked around again, heading over to the other departnts where he saw them work. He even t Oliver again, and after waving at him, with Oliver waving back, as he walked away, Chow looked at him weirdly. "Do you know Oliver?"

"Yes, I do know him. He’s a nice guy."

After hearing this, Chow looked at Jason weirdly again, shaking his head, before saying that he was a moody guy who was so good at his job that even when he caused problems they didn’t care. So he was good at his job huh... That gave Jason even more intention to push through with his plans. He would take his ti getting that done.

Shifting soone’s ntality was all about slowly but surely implanting ideas, and letting them accumulate in their minds. It was such a simple thing, but it was also so complex. Jason had to take his ti.

After the tour of the building, Jason knew where everything was and what to do and Chow was finally able to return to his work. He then took the ti to finally start reading the docunts that would teach him two to take on the stuff he needed to take on.

The Tools were pretty good. It was all Client Relations Managent, Ad Analytics and Tracking Tools, Social dia Scraping Tools... and other things. His job was to set up the ads to get people to buy the products they were selling. So he was not actually going to be in the field. That was a job for another departnt.

Ti passed and after a while, it was finally ti for lunch. When Jason turned to them only to see them sitting at the places they were sitting, he couldn’t help but turn to Chow. "Should I get you anything?"

"Nah... You gotta understand, the cafeteria is packed at this ti. It’s better to go later. Even if you’re hungry. Just eat a quick snack and then take care of yourself for later."

Jason nodded. So it seed that this ti was pretty busy. Jason still left though, looking forward to eting more people and getting along with all of them. He went around greeting people and having conversations with them, and soon enough he managed to get soone to let him cut in line and get lunch.

It was pretty tasty. But Jason still felt like it might be better if he could get sothing else. Maybe a packed lunch. Anyway, as he walked around, Jason saw a face he had been looking forward to seeing. It was Oliver Porter and he was there, standing there with his back at his belly, and looking around as if he was a shy rabbit around a gang of people.

This guy... Was he really good enough to beco a subordinate?

Jason sighed, going over and having a casual conversation with the man. It was not about his personality. It was about his usefulness and position. Any behaviour can be learned or unlearned with ti. If Jason didn’t like how he was, he could just train him to be different, to be sothing else entirely. And in that way, Oliver would beco what Jason wanted him to be.

The day continued moving just like that, with Jason having so slightly difficult experiences, and at the end of the day he had completed his work. Sighing, Jason realised that it was ti to go back ho. But before that... He had to go to the mall to get a good set of clothes. Or at least sothing that would allow him to blend in with everyone else who looked clean and professional.

But Just as Jason entered the Mall, he looked around, sighing. What the hell was this? He was thoroughly confused now. After all, what were the odds of eting soone in such a big city like this?

Weren’t those the Goons he had seen before?

Sighing, Jason shook his head. Maybe this was just heaven telling him to deal with them right now. Looking at the mission again, Jason couldn’t help but sigh. It seed the Heavens were tired of these idiots.
