Jason stepped into Emily's apartnt, her arms wrapping tightly around him. She clung to him as if she feared he might vanish. Her trembling body and rapid breathing told him more than her words ever could. It had been a few hours since her rescue, yet the trauma still hung over her like a dark cloud. He gently closed the door behind them, setting her on the couch.
"Emily, you're safe now," Jason said, his voice low and soothing. His hands cupped her cheeks, forcing her teary eyes to et his. "Take a deep breath for . Co on, in through your nose, out through your mouth. That's it."
Emily followed his instructions, her breaths gradually slowing. Jason's tone was deliberate, calm yet commanding… a technique he used to diffuse tense situations. By mirroring her emotions and then gently guiding her out of them, he established a rhythm that made her feel understood and secure.
After a mont, Emily exhaled deeply and leaned her head against his chest. Jason stroked her hair, his fingers threading through the soft strands as he planted a gentle kiss on her crown. She slled like vanilla and lavender, comforting and alluring all at once.
She must have taken a shower, or two… or three after that ordeal. Jason would have loved to land his hands on those bastards. But unfortunately for him, they were all dead. Well, there was still Jack, who was in Jason's back pocket. He would tornt Jack so more and use him to make him take everything from the Cross Family. That would be his punishnt.
"I… I can't stop thinking about it," she whispered into his chest. "About how close I ca to…"
"Hey," Jason interrupted, his tone firm yet tender. "Stop. You're here with now. You're safe. And I'll make damn sure no one ever touches you again. Do you trust ?"
Emily nodded, her grip on him tightening. "I do."
Jason smirked faintly, though his mind was far from at ease. Troy's words from their last eting echoed in his thoughts: They wanted to et you… as soon as possible. These people are powerful. They're watching.
For the first ti, Jason felt the weight of his success. The Neural Flux Pills had propelled him to new heights, but they had also drawn the attention of figures far more dangerous than Jack or any of the petty rivals he had faced before. The capital, the very heart of power, had turned its gaze on him.
In a way, he was trying to calm himself down as he cald her down. And it was working funnily enough.
As Emily snuggled closer, Jason pressed another kiss to her hair. "You're stronger than you think," he murmured. "And together, we'll face whatever cos next."
Jason saw Emily's state and then he frowned. She needed so serious reprogramming. She could not go on like this. And that was why he began speaking. "I want you to calm yourself down and close your eyes for , Emily."
"Huh?" Emily said, looking up. Jason smirked.
"Just do it. Trust . It's going to be important that you experience sothing like this," Jason said, nuzzling his nose over hers in a way that brought a smile to her face. "Fine," she said, closing her eyes but keeping her head up. Jason chuckled. Did she think they were going to kiss? She was so adorable sotis.
"From now on, when I tell you to do sothing, you do it, okay?"
"Okay!" Emily said with a smirk. Jason wanted to laugh. What was she thinking? Whatever.
"Okay. So with your eyes closed, I want you to imagine sothing. Imagine yourself in a serene and secure environnt, free from any stress or chaos. The room is filled with a warm, comforting light that gently embraces you. The air is fresh and fragrant with the scent of blooming flowers and a faint whisper of the ocean breeze. You're seated comfortably, feeling utterly relaxed as you begin this transformative journey. Do you understand?"
"Mhm…" Emily said, unsure what was about to happen. Jason did not care about all that though. He was more concerned with whether or not she was in a situation he wanted her to be in or not. He did not care whether she understood, he just cared about whether she did whatever he told her to.
"Welco to a place where healing whispers are louder than the shouts of your past. Now, Emily, I want you to take a deep breath. Inhale the peace and tranquillity of this sanctuary, exhale any lingering tension. Let your shoulders drop, your chest expand, and feel the weight of the world lifting from your shoulders. You are safe here."
Jason watched as Emily leaned on his chest, breathing in his scent and then letting out a "Mhh" because of his cologne. He smirked. She was way too playful. But maybe that was just her way of dealing with trauma. It was just to forget it, or maybe to see if she could forget everything about it. Well, that was fine. Jason would speed up the process. He would go ahead and help her out with that.
"Now, I want you to visualise a beautiful, calm sea. The waves are gentle, the water a soothing shade of blue. As you gaze upon this tranquil horizon, allow any mories of what happened this morning to form as a distant storm cloud on the edge of your awareness, do you see it?"
"Mh… I see it." Emily said, her expression growing more sombre. Jason nodded. He was getting her to visualise her problem as sothing far from her sothing that could not affect her. And this would register in her mind as sothing that did not require attention. Now he would make the image and the idea smaller than ever.
"Good girl, Emily. I want you to notice the cloud but don't engage with it. Simply observe it as it floats away, getting smaller and smaller until it's just a speck in the vast sky of your mind. It's no longer a part of your present, just a mory fading into the distance. Do you see that? Do you see how every ti you breathe out the cloud gets blown away?"
"I see it…" Emily said absentmindedly bringing a smile to her face. Now that the dissociation was done. Jason could move on to the part he wanted to do. That was to anchor in a positive state of forgetting the mory.
Jason kissed her on the top of her head and when he did that he smirked. "Now Emily, I want you to place your hand on your heart, and feel the gentle, rhythmic beating. This is your anchor to the peace that lives within you. Every ti you touch this spot, you'll rember the serenity you're about to experience. When you feel the rising and falling of your breath, you will know that there is a serenity that exists inside you and it will lead you to peace and calm."
Jason watched as she did just that, breathing in and out, and he watched intently. Hopefully, she would use that anchor when he wasn't around. Otherwise, there was no point. But even when he was around he could reactivate it by telling her to feel her heartbeat, and then telling her she was still alive and that was all that mattered.
Well, it was ti to put so more states on top just to drive that image out of her head. "Is that cloud still around?"
"Yeah, but it's small. It's far away. I can barely see it." Emily said this with a curiosity and innocence that made Jason think he was taking advantage of her. Well, this was good for her too.
"I want you to take a picture of that cloud. Do it now."
"Okay done!"
"Perfect, Emily," Jason said kissing the top of her head again and making her giggle. "Now, imagine taking that photograph and placing it into a fra. Notice the edges, the colours, and the emotions it brings. Now, take that fra and hold it in your hand." He was about to do the swish pattern. This had to be done delicately as it is sothing that could ss soone up if used for the wrong reasons.
"Okay, Now with your other hand, conjure an image of a calm, peaceful mont from your past. A ti when you felt utterly content and at ease. Begin to shrink the fra with the cloud until it's no larger than a postage stamp. At the sa ti, enlarge the fra with a peaceful mory until it fills your entire ntal canvas. Can you see how big the peaceful image is getting compared to that dark cloud that is so small and little and insignificant?"
"Yeah. It's so small now it's in the palm of my hand. But the other one is so huge now. It's so heavy too!"
"Emily you're really strong, so you can carry it. I want you to do sothing for . I want you to swap the pictures in between your hands. I want you to put the one picture in the other hand, and do the sa with the other one. Can you do it?"
"Wait… Give a mont… I just… Okay done!" Emily said, eliciting a chuckle from Jason. She was taking this so seriously. Well, that was good. It was a good thing she had such a strong imagination.
"Oh my god, the peaceful image is getting bigger and bigger, what about the other one? Can you still see it?"
"N,o I can't see it. It's gone now. But I swore it was in my hand… So crazy…" Emily said in genuine curiosity. Jason laughed. SO crazy…
"Welit'sts fine, at least you still have this one image right?" He said. "As it grows bigger, filling up your mind, I want you to repeat so words to yourself. "I am calm and relaxed. I am safe and sound. I am healing. Can you feel those words resonating through your being as the image becos bigger and bigger taking up everything in your world?"
"Yes. I think I can…" Emily said and then Jason smirked.
"Good. You can feel that calm relaxation spreading all over your body, can't you? Starting from the number 10, count down slowly. With every number, feel yourself relaxing deeper and deeper. 10, 9, 8... let your body go limp, 7, 6... feel the tension lting away, 5, 4... your mind clearing, 3, 2... and 1."
As Emily continued breathing deeply, Jason smiled equally as gently gazing at her as she lay there.
"You are now in a state of profound calm and relaxation." After saying this, Jason kissed the top of her head, and then he smirked. She was going to be fine. She was like a lump of putty in his hands now. He might be able to implant any idea in her head and she would soak it up like a sponge. But this was exactly the thing. There was only one idea he wanted to implant in her mind.
"Whenever you feel the ripples of the past trying to disrupt your peace, rember this place, this mont, and let that strength bloom. It's your shield, keeping you grounded in the present. It is your everything. Do you understand?"
Hearing her groan sothing out, Jason laughed. She was so adorable. Was she falling asleep?
