A collective murmur rippled through the audience as the pills were revealed. They glead like precious jewels in a glass box under the spotlight. Jason smiled when he heard the collective hush spread through the room as the pills ca out. If things went well, he was about to make a lot of banks.
"These pills," the presenter continued, "are a revolutionary cognitive enhancer. They promise unmatched focus, mory retention, and intellectual clarity. Imagine a world where every thought is under your control, every skill mastered easily. New mories stay with you forever. Old mories can be recalled like nothing… Do you want to operate at the highest levels? Well with this in your arsenal you can."
Jason leaned forward, observing the crowd’s reaction. Their expressions were filled with excitent mixed with scepticism. He could almost taste their greed and curiosity. This was good.
Troy’s work had gone well, it seed. He had sprinkled just enough pills out there to drive this greed.
ANd now everyone had co looking for a taste.
The presenter announced, "The bidding starts at 3 million per pill. For those bold enough to claim all ten, the package begins at 30 million."
Before anyone could say anything, a man in the audience stood abruptly, his voice cutting through the murmurs. "How can we be certain these pills are legitimate?"
Jason narrowed his eyes… What was this?
The presenter’s confident smile faltered slightly. "Each product has been thoroughly tested and vetted. The supplier is trusted by—"
"We want to et the supplier," the man interjected. "If they’re as trustworthy as you claim, let them step forward."
The room fell silent, tension crackling in the air. Jason’s smirk returned. This wasn’t a coincidence. The man’s interruption was too precise, too calculated.
"What an interesting twist," Jason murmured, his voice low enough for only the won around him to hear. "This was planned. Soone’s trying to sabotage the auction. If Troy doesn’t bring out the supplier now…"
"Then everything is going to be under suspicion. People might not even buy at those high prices thinking that the pills might be fake," Samantha said, narrowing her eyes. Veronica nodded.
"Even if they give people a demonstration with one of the pills, things will never be the sa. After all, they might say that one of the pills was real but the others were still unknown. It would always be Troy against the masses," Veronica continued.
Jason looked at them and then nodded. They were quick on the uptake. There were a ton of ways to ruin this auction. And it seed whoever had planned this was doing this on purpose with the intent to ruin everything Jason had worked so hard for.
Isabella was a bit more understanding, but after hearing the words that woman said, she was still uncertain. After all, there was no way these pills were really that powerful. She turned to him, her eyes wide with concern. "Jason, are these pills really that powerful?"
Jason nodded, his voice steady and reassuring. "They boost your cognitive functions beyond anything you’ve ever experienced. And the best part? The knowledge and skills you gain during its effect stay with you forever." Jason turned to her with a smile. "You understand why such pills would be incredibly valuable, right?"
Isabella nodded, feeling her fears suddenly soothed by Jason’s calm tone and his focus on the benefits, redirecting her emotions from worry to curiosity.
Samantha’s sharp gaze lingered on Jason. "You seem to know a lot about these pills." Even she had heard about them from the grapevine and she was here to see if there was anything to the story. But it seed like she was thinking too much about it. She was looking forward to seeing a demonstration.
She said this just to see how far Jason’s reach went and she wasn’t expecting anything… But soon she would realise that she was on the winning team.
Jason reached into his pocket and pulled out three identical capsules, holding them up for the won to see. Their eyes widened in unison. What they didnt see was the blue panel that had shown up in front of Jason, asking him if he wanted to [Export] the pills. And he only reached into his pocket just to fake the whole scene, having figured out the thod to making things export at certain locations.
Samantha saw the white little things and her eyes went wide. Holy shit… there was no way.
"You… You have them?" Isabella stamred, her voice barely above a whisper.
Veronica’s breath hitched. "Jason, that’s nine million dollars worth of pills in your hand."
Jason’s smirk deepened as he leaned back, his fingers toying with the capsules. "Let’s just say I’m familiar with their potential. And I’m a bit of a power user myself, haha" After saying that he played with one of them, putting the two others on the table. And before he could say sothing else, sothing incredible happened.
Samantha stood abruptly, her heels clicking against the floor as she approached Jason. Without a word, she perched herself on his lap, her eyes locking onto his.
"Did I ever tell you," she purred, her voice dripping with seduction, "how incredible you are?"
Jason chuckled, his hand resting casually on her waist. "Not nearly enough tis." It would have been fine if this was the right ti, but it wasn’t.
"I’ll give you guys one each. Don’t take them now though. Otherwise, you would have wasted them. They are perfect for learning things at a quick pace and ensuring that you rember them forever. So rember that."
The won looked at him and nodded to themselves. But still, they couldn’t help but glance at Jason and each other, the sa thought going through their minds. What was Jason?
He seed to have everything they could ever want, money, power, good looks, masculinity... He was a different creature from any other man, having everything but lacking in nothing.
The room’s murmurs grew louder as the tension on stage reached its peak.
While the won were getting excited, Jason turned his eyes to the stage and saw that the situation was turning ever more ssed up. The presenter attempted to regain control, but the crowd’s focus was split between the pills and the brewing dissent. Jason’s sharp eyes darted across the room, assessing the players in this unfolding drama.
Suddenly, the man who had challenged the presenter stepped forward, his voice booming. "If the supplier won’t show themselves, this auction is a farce!"
The crowd erupted, voices overlapping as chaos threatened to consu the event. Jason’s smirk faded, replaced by a cold, calculating expression.
"Ladies," he said softly, his tone like a blade—sharp and cutting. "It seems the ga has just begun."
The woman turned to look at Jason. What did he an by that? But then in the next mont, they understood.
*Boom!*
Suddenly so n entered the room, wearing all black and carrying massive rifles that glead murderously in the light of the chandeliers up top. Jason smiled. Only fitting for so militant n to co in and try to ruin the auction of a gangster kingpin.
Jason realised sothing at that mont. Could it be that man who had stared up descent along with a few other people who were riling it up from everywhere around were all working towards this mont? If so, how well planned it all was. With chaos in their hearts, people would be more willing to incite and take part in the chaos around them.
As the room descended into pandemonium, Jason leaned forward, picking Samantha up as he stood up, his mind racing with possibilities. This wasn’t just about the pills anymore. Soone was trying to challenge the power dynamics of the entire evening. And they were trying to stir up chaos…
As Jason’s eyes scanned the room, they locked onto a figure lingering in the shadows near the exit coming towards the stage. There it was. It was all coming together now...
This was not so attack.
This was a heist.
