"What is that supposed to an, Ambrose?" Sebastian asked, looking at Elliana, who was equally surprised as him.

She sat in her bed, looking at Ambrose with quirked brows. She wanted to hear what he had to say to her.

"I saw you crying in pain when he broke your heart. How can you forget about that pain so soon? Did he threaten you with it? Did he force the kiss on you? You were clearly angry in the morning and afternoon, even before the fight, and -" Ambrose glared at his king to Elliana’s surprise.

"Mr. Ambrose, I don’t -" Elliana started, but Ambrose sighed.

"I am sure he manipulated you. That was why Lucas was so confident that our king would be able to persuade you quickly. I can’t believe you, sir. You used your vampire manipulation on your ex-wife?" Ambrose asked, and Elliana raised her brows at him.

"Wait, vampire manipulation?" Elliana asked.

"Yes. Was he gazing into your eyes intensely before the kiss?" Ambrose asked, and Elliana thought about his intense gaze of pure love when his eyes suddenly turned red.

She widened her eyes slightly and bobbed her head up and down like a little girl.

"Mr. Marino? Did you manipulate my emotions to get a kiss? Is that what you did?" Elliana asked in fake anger, and Sebastian shook his head, panicking slightly.

"No, princess. I would never do that to you, my Cara. Hear out. It’s true I wanted you to see what I felt for you and -

Why are you doing this Ambrose?" Sebastian glared at his subordinate, who was standing at the gate with a disappointed look on his face.

"I didn’t know you would stoop this low, sir. How can you do this to your own wife?" He shook his head.

Sebastian looked at his wife and shook his head again.

"Princess, I can explain. I don’t know what’s going on. I am sure this is -" Sebastian stopped, his beast taking over when he saw the disappointed look on his wife’s face.

Was his own subordinate making his wife hate him?

"Ambrose, do you have a death wish?" Sebastian’s voice turned deep, and Elliana quickly held his hand to stop him from stepping forward.

Sebastian looked down at her.

Elliana smiled at him and shook her head before pulling him back, placing her head on his abdon.

"Mr. Ambrose, what is this about?" Elliana asked with amusent dancing in her eyes, knowing all too well his subordinate would never want anything wrong with their king or try to sow discord between them. If anything, they would be happy that they were back together even if not officially. She was confident sothing else was going on here.

"It’s just we bet on how long it would take you to forgive him. You could’ve waited for 3.5 more hours. I lost $1000 along with Harry and Garry. That’s why Lucas is dancing outside. Uhhh... I am sure sir manipulated you. Or was it because of this fight... Uhhh," Ambrose said, and Elliana chuckled before she looked at the ring she was wearing.

She stood from her place and placed the ring in Ambrose’s hand.

"Princess, what are you -" Ambrose’s eyes widened.

"Thank you for always being on my side. You guys are just like my second family," Elliana placed her hands on his back before hugging him.

Ambrose, who was about to assure the Princess that she would always have their back, was about to place his hand on her shoulders when his gaze landed on a seething husband behind the princess and he cleared his throat.

"I... I have to leave," Ambrose whispered before leaving.

Elliana didn’t need to be told that Sebastian was the reason behind his departure, and she chuckled.

"Don’t worry. I believe you. And even if you manipulated , it’s a manipulation I will happily let you do it over and over again. Don’t you have to leave to handle so stuff? What are you waiting for? Leave. I have to rest," Elliana said before she walked to him and placed her hand on his chest.

"Co soon. Even I can’t sleep without you," Elliana smiled before rising on her tiptoes and kissing his cheeks.

"You are so handso. It’s a pity I couldn’t recognize you earlier," She sighed and Sebastian pecked her lips before putting her on the bed and covering her.

Once he ensured her security was alright, he left the hospital, walking to his car.

As soon as he reached his car, his gaze landed on Ambrose, and his pupils imdiately contracted in annoyance.

"Give ," Sebastian extended his hand, and Ambrose looked at his King.

"Give you what, sir?" He asked, feigning innocence.

"Don’t make say it again. Give it to . My wife’s ring. Only I deserve her presents. I will transfer the money into your account for the ring. Give the ring to ," Sebastian cleared his throat, not at all hiding he was jealous that his subordinate got a gift from her even though it was nothing special.

"It’s a gift from our princess. Why would I give it to you? If you want a gift, go ask yourself," Ambrose said confidently, and Sebastian gritted his teeth.

"Ambrose, I swear you are walking on eggshells around because I-"

"Is that Princess’s ring? How did you get it?" Lucas walked to them.

"She gifted it to him for so unknown reason," Sebastian clenched his teeth.

"What did you even do to deserve this? I was the one who always defended her and was with her. Give it to ," Lucas extended his hand shalessly, and Sebastian looked at his subordinates in disbelief.

"I am standing right here. How can you guys fight over my wife’s ring?" Sebastian asked, perplexed.

"Please, sir. You are rich. You can buy a thousand rings like this. Buy a ring, make her wear it, and then take it. Consider it a gift for yourself. We subordinates don’t get appreciated like this all the ti. And I don’t even know what he did," Lucas rolled his eyes, glaring at Ambrose, and Sebastian sighed.

Why does he feel like that this ti when the princess returns to the kingdom, his subordinates will be her pawns and not his secretaries and workers anymore?
