Elliana took a deep breath before thinking of opening her eyes to see if she landed in the right place or not.

She had been trying the teleportation spell for the past 5 minutes, and she didn’t know how many places she tried in those minutes.

Was it ten? Or twenty?

If she thought just thinking about the place was the only thing that needed to be done, and it was the easiest thing, she was so wrong.

At least this ti her feet firmly placed on the ground ensured that she was indeed standing on land and not in so water where she almost drowned earlier, or that’s what she felt until Nathaniel told her that so witch Jalizana had her control over her water shield, and she wouldn’t have let sothing happen to her.

"Elliana, what are you doing standing there with your eyes closed," She heard Dexter’s voice.

Elliana imdiately opened her eyes, her eyes gleaming with happiness since she had done it right this ti.

"I did it," Elliana smiled at Dexter happily, and the guy who didn’t have any idea about what she was saying, smiled back at her.

"I didn’t know sneaking out of your guardian’s place was a bucket list task for you," Dexter said, wincing in pain as his jaws throbbed with pain.

Elliana looked at the guy in front of her now that she was down from the height of her achievent, and pressed her lips into a thin line.

She knew sothing bad happened to him, but calling him out for it might actually hurt his ego, and she didn’t want that to happen.

From what she has judged him so far, he was a proud man who didn’t like to share his pain with others.

"Geez, who roughed you up this badly? Did you fall off this mountain or sothing?" Elliana asked, stepping closer to him and taking out her handkerchief that she used to wipe the blood from his face.

She looked around and walked to so distance, confusing Dexter who followed her silently, unsure of what she was doing.

Elliana scooted closer to the lake and wet the handkerchief before walking to Dexter and wiping the dried blood on his skin.

"Well, now I know why we clicked on our first eting and beca such good friends," Elliana comnted.

Dexter looked at the girl with a soft smile on his face.

She could’ve asked millions of questions about what happened, who did this to him, or if he was right, but she went ahead to change the topic, abiding by the silent agreent they had among them to share things only when they were comfortable with it.

"Why do we click?" Dexter asked, and Elliana smirked.

"Because birds of the sa feather flock together," Elliana winked at him, referring to how many tis she got roughed up in the past and showed up in front of him all bloodied and wrapped in bandages.

Dexter looked at the girl who was trying to make things funny just for his sake and smiled.

"Anyway, how did you make it till here? I an, my senses might be all over the place, but I could’ve heard so engine sound or sothing that would have brought you here," Dexter said, and Elliana smiled awkwardly.

She cleared her throat and looked at the water shining under the moonlight.

"Will you not believe if I tell you that I walked here?" Elliana asked with an uncomfortable smile.

"Do you want to believe it? That you traveled here in just thirty minutes just by walking when you were a human? Hmm?" Dexter asked, countering her sentence indirectly, and Elliana smiled.

"Let’s not talk about it. You tell , what exactly you wanted to see for. Don’t tell you just wanted to show your ugly face to ," Elliana asked, and Dexter rolled his eyes.

He could see she was hiding sothing from him again, and rembering her words about how she would tell him everything when the right ti would co, he let go of the matter, temporarily.

"Would you like to go to the hill with ? I an, not on the bike or any transport. Just by holding my hands -"

"And then you want to jump on the other side of the hill into the river that is on the other side at this ti of the night?" Elliana asked, and Dexter furrowed his brows.

"Well, that wasn’t exactly my plan. I was just suggesting to feel so cold air and relax our minds since you said you have sothing to take off your heart too, but wait -" Dexter looked into her eyes with his brown scrunched.

"Why do you look so excited at the thought of jumping into that cold chilling river? Were you planning to put those words in my mouth and later bla if sothing happened?" Dexter asked.

Elliana didn’t answer. She just turned around rembering the ti when she had ridden the horse with Mr. Marino for the first ti, and he had hugged her from behind so close to his heart, giving into his desires of going so fast that they had been thrown ahead when the horse stopped at the edge.

A smile spread across her lips when he picked her in his arms and asked if she trusted him when he was clearly about to jump down.

The way he looked into her eyes as if he would do anything for her at the mont and protect her from the world was so raw that she couldn’t help but say yes to him even when she was feeling scared for the initial second.

Rather than falling all the way down into the river, he had stopped in the middle of the cliff, but she wanted to go all the way down and that’s why, she had jumped from his arms, making him curse loudly and follow her which was followed by the other princes too.

They had gotten quite the scolding for the stunt because she had fallen sick at that ti.

"Of course not, I was just confirming because I rembered there was a river on the other side," Elliana said.

There was no way she wanted to beco sick by falling into the river at this ti of the night. She had so many things planned before she left for good, and none of them included getting sick and falling behind.

"Let’s go then," Dexter said.

He was about to bend and pick her when Elliana stepped away from him, making him furrow his brows.

"What’s wrong?" He asked.

Elliana shook her head.

"You are wounded. I can’t let you pick up," Elliana whispered before she gulped.

"Hold my hand and use your vampire speed like that," she suggested.

"Are you out of your mind? How will you be able to keep up? It will take a toll on your petite body," Dexter said.

"Just trust , Dexter. It will be fine," Elliana whispered, and Dexter gulped before humming.

He held her hand and used his vampire speed. He was thoughtful and used minimal speed, like that of a human running, but when he saw her keeping her pace just fine, to say he was amazed would be an understatent.

He saw her closing her eyes, obviously trusting him to lead her the right way.

Dexter sighed before looking ahead, enjoying the cold night air with the only person who understood him well in this world.
