"How long will it take, Alcinder?" Elliana asked, and Alcinder turned to her briefly.

"7-8 more minutes," Alcinder said and accelerated his car even more, trying his best to drive between the market as fast as he could without hurting anyone.

"Do you have a clean handkerchief?" She asked, and he scrunched his brows before taking his handkerchief out from his pocket.

She folded the handkerchief and pulled out a glass bottle smaller than her little finger from the small pocket in her dress before she opened the cap and emptied the liquid on the handkerchief.

She rubbed the handkerchief on her skin and under her dress as appropriately as she could before taking a deep breath.

Next, she pulled her scarf around her neck and tied it on her face to hide it completely.

Even her eyes were barely visible. She only left enough space for her to be able to see properly.

"Do I look okay?" Elliana asked Alcinder.

"You look like a thief," Alcinder said, and Elliana nodded satisfactorily.

It was clear she was trying to hide her face from everyone because maybe she didn’t want anyone to see her face and expose her, but what was that liquid that she -

Alcinder sniffed the air in the car with scrunched brows.

She used a de-scenting liquid that leaves an aftersll like that of lavender. This kind of drug...

"Where did you get that stuff from?" Alcinder asked, but Elliana didn’t answer his question. Rather than that, she asked him to stop the car.

"But we are still far from the location," Alcinder said.

"I know. Do you really think I am there to show myself? I will have to sneak inside and free my lady," Elliana clenched her fists.

Though she was putting up a strong facade, Alcinder could see she was nervous and probably scared.

He sighed.

She was just a human and had average fighting skills, like that she used on those human boys who were there to harass her. What if the n who captured that so-called girl or lady were vampires? How will she fight them? They’ll overpower her easily and probably hurt her more than she would be able to take.

No. He can’t let Elliana go just like that. Rather than letting her go there, he should go inside and save whoever the girl was.

He was also the council’s head’s son. So it would be an added benefit to the situation if sothing happened. Alcinder nodded to himself.

"You stay here. I’ll be out in so ti," Elliana was about to open the door when Alcinder placed his hand on hers.

"Are you out of your mind? You want to let you go there alone when I clearly heard what those n said? You have to be kidding . What if those n are trained vampires? Will you be able to fight them?" Alcinder asked, and Elliana nodded.

"I will. Even if it’s the royal vampires, to save my people, the only ones who really trust and call their family, I will do anything. I will fight anyone, regardless of their powers," Elliana said, and Alcinder looked at the determination in her eyes before sighing.

"I am not stopping you from fighting them. I am just saying that I am coming with you, and I won’t hear a no," Alcinder said before he snatched the handkerchief from her hand and tied it around his face.

He will only reveal his face when things go extre. As atrocious as Elliana looked right now, he knew she was right about hiding her identity.

There is no guarantee that scums like these won’t co back for them and create a scene in the future.

He sighed and was about to get out of the car when Elliana’s words stopped him.

"Do you keep any weapons in your car?" She asked.

"Yes, a missile. Will that be good enough?" Alcinder asked, rolling his eyes sarcastically, but to his horror, Elliana nodded.

"Take it out. We might as well blow this entire place for kidnapping a helpless girl and threatening to force themselves on her. Pathetic scums," Elliana’s eyes shone darkly.

To say Alcinder was shocked with her choice of words would be an understatent. He looked at the girl and gulped hard.

Yes, he has pretty dark thoughts, and sotis he also thinks of murdering a few people or shredding them to pieces, but to blow a place full of people just because they kidnapped a girl? Wasn’t this human girl being too much? Aren’t humans supposed to be empathetic? How can she think so cruelly?

It was as if a translucent sheet of the ’good girl’ facade around her shattered, and Alcinder was finally seeing the real her, the real her, which is not as lovely and innocent as she pretends to be all the ti.

"Are you for real? I was just joking," Alcinder looked at her with dark eyes, and she nodded.

"I was joking, too. Do you think I would risk the lives of innocent people just to save another innocent one? I am not a monster," Elliana said.

Alcinder looked at her observantly before he fished a dagger from his pocket.

"I don’t know why I bought this, but use this to protect yourself from those vampires. If they try to attack you, plunge this dagger in their chests and kill them. Don’t act sympathetic and think about what would happen to their families. You won’t be able to survive like that," Alcinder gave her the instructions, and she nodded like an obedient girl before taking the dagger from his hand.

She cracked the bones in her neck before she rushed and snuck towards the location.

As she neared the building, she completely turned from the Elliana everyone knew to Glory. She walked behind the small building-like thing.

According to the location, this should be the place where Natasha was captured, Elliana nodded at herself.

She walked towards the pipelines of the building, ready to climb, when soone placed their hand on her back, and her body froze.

No, How could it be? She can’t get caught already.

Elliana went into alert mode and raised her hand to attack the person when the person held her hand and put her in a lock from behind.

"It’s , Elliana. I will distract those people. I am sure they wouldn’t want to let go of the opportunity to catch the person the royals are looking for. That’s the least I can do for you," The man whispered in her ears, and Elliana turned to him, her eyes quivering.

"You don’t have to. I’ll handle it. Don’t sacrifice your safety for anything. I need you," Elliana said to him, but he only smiled.

"If you trust enough, keep in your circle," he held her hand and kissed the back of her palm before running away.

Alcinder, who was standing at so distance, looked at the man, who was also covering his face and noticed how Elliana’s eyes imdiately turned so emotional before she looked up with new fire in her eyes.

"You handle things here. Call if you see sothing suspicious. I am going up," Elliana said, her cold voice a clear indication that she didn’t need any kind of interruption while working.
