~~~Vincenzo’s thoughts continued ~~~~~
Vincenzo was a noble, but everyone knew he was far from being a gentleman, at least not to humans.
When he saw the girl picking up the goggles and placing them back, he gulped, shocked at his own behavior and desire to see her eyes again.
"What did you apply on my forehead? It’s healing already and without blood," Vincenzo was surprised when he saw his forehead in the lake water.
"The herbs that I am sure any vampire doctor would be well aware of," She said before she sat back down and pulled her legs to her chest.
"You reek of blood. Did soone attack you?" Vincenzo sat close to her, finding it strange that she was still not flinching away from him.
"When you live among wolves, you are bound to get wounded," she smiled.
"What is that -"
"Sir, the car is ready," Vincenzo heard his subordinate from so distance, and he nodded dejectedly before standing from his place.
"What’s your na, human? Just asking so that I won’t have to call you that rudely again," Vincenzo asked.
"Don’t worry. You probably won’t see again," she paused before sighing.
"It’s Glory," The girl said, without turning to him, and Vincenzo nodded at himself.
Oh, we surely will et again. I don’t let people, who pique my interest, go easily. promised to himself.
He left the forest that day, but soon it beca his habit to go to that forest. Deep inside, he knew he was looking for that particular girl only.
The girl with a beautiful personality and boundaries. The girl who was not scared of death, and had a heart made of gold.
He went there for 15 consecutive days and was about to give up on seeing her when he saw her again.
Sa area. Sa outfit. If he hadn’t known she was a human, he would’ve mistaken her for a witch because she looked exactly the sa from that day.
He walked to her and thanked her with a new pack of cookies that he carried with him daily.
She had asked him if he poisoned the snacks, and for the first ti in years Vincenzo laughed so loudly at her innocent question.
"Don’t you rember your words? If I want to kill you, I don’t need these toys and definitely not these snacks," He said, making her hum.
That’s how their friendship started. He never asked her to show her face, and strangely, she never asked him about his na or identity.
Vincenzo liked it that way. Most people co to him because of his royalty, so it was like a fresh breeze that there was soone who didn’t care about that.
Mr. Vampire. That’s what she used to call him. It wasn’t love, but he surely built sothing with her.
He started telling her when he would go to missions and when he would return, going to the extent of offering her a phone so they could be more updated with each other’s schedule, but she denied it.
The only ans to communicate with her was that lake and forest. Vincenzo knew sothing was wrong with this girl. He used to go there every day in hopes of eting her if he wasn’t on the mission, but she used to co occasionally.
And every ti he saw her there, she reeked of blood. No part of her skin was visible, but the scent of fresh blood always lingered in the air. Maybe that was the reason she covered herself because she didn’t want anyone to see her wounds.
It continued for almost a year. Their silent friendship with no personal information shared.
Vincenzo was planning to make a move and ask her what was wrong with her, but one year ago, she stopped coming to the forest. He went there for months in the hope that she would turn up there at least once, but she didn’t.
He wanted to look for her, but what description could he use? He asked his man to look for Glory in the human kingdom, but every girl with the na he t was different.
That’s how he ca to the conclusion that his friend was probably dead.
Vincenzo sighed and looked out the balcony at the fountain.
His hands trembled when he heard Sebastian’s wife today, and to say she was human too.
As selfish as he knew he was sounding, one part of him wanted it to be her because that way he would know that she is alive at least but the other part of him wanted her to be soone else.
Glory can’t be Sebastian’s wife. She shouldn’t be.
That girl probably suffered most of her life, he didn’t want her to get paired with a monster. But then again, Sebastian was married to a royal princess.
There was no way Glory was royal. She acted nothing like those people who were only greedy and thirsty for power, despite what they were doing to their people.
Vincenzo nodded at himself in relief before he walked to his desk.
He unlocked his drawer where he keeps the most important things and pulled out the letter. The letter he had written for Glory a year ago.
"Dear Glory,
I know this isn’t like to write a letter. It surprised too. Don’t laugh or smile. It will make it more embarrassing. I honestly don’t know how to do it.
Do we first write about our feelings and good things? Or do we get straight to the point? The only letters I have written are threatening, and I am sure that’s not how you write a letter to your friend.
Pardon my manners, but let get straight to the point.
This letter can turn our eting into the last eting too, but I needed to get this out of my chest. This is sothing I have been trying to say for a long ti.
Co with , Glory. Run away with or whatever you humans call it.
I an it from every cell in my body. I know you are bullied at ho or wherever you live, and it aches my heart to think that. Do you think just because you hide your body well, I don’t sll the blood on you? I do, and it shatters my heart. If you are worried about where you’ll live, don’t. You will live with . And if you don’t like it, I’ll give you a separate place too.
Don’t think I am pitying you. I am not. This is a selfish decision to keep you close to . This friendship has grown on , and I can’t get enough of our occasional etings. I need you with to keep sane.
I know what I am saying might sound strange to you. I am not in love with you if that’s what you are worried about. Your warning about not falling for you had been clear to from day one, but is love in friendship not allowed?
I... I like this friendship, Glory. And this ans the world to . You ca into my life like a hurricane, and now you are that calming sunlight in winter that I need to keep myself warm.
This might be a bit too rushed, but it’s not like we et every day that you have to reply to imdiately. Think about it, but just don’t take too much ti. I’ll be waiting for your answer in the sa spot every day.
Not yours lovely, but truly,
Mr. Vampire,"
This was what he had written for her.
But he never got the chance to give it to her, and probably the words he wrote turned true.
He never t her again.
