"Hahahaha! Did you all hear that? He says he’ll kill us all if you don’t pay." The leader of the group laughed out loud, supported by the others, all of them laughed, not taking As seriously at all.
"Oi wanna-be leader! Do you know who we are? We’re the bloodbands. We’re under lord tiger. He’s one of the bosses of the inner zone. You touch us, and the very next day you’ll all be wiped out." the leader said with an evil smirk on his face.
He was smirking thinking that As would back down now. He ca here knowing that the barbarics were wiped out by a new group. The barbarics were under the hound, so they couldn’t touch them. but this new group had no backing in the inner zone. This was perfect opportunity to annex this area and curry favor with the upper bosses.
"Haruto! Akari!" As called the two out.
"Yes leader." Haruto imdiately ca forward and bowed his head, waiting for orders.
"Y-Yes leader." Akari ca forward shyly.
"If you see a single one of them crossing the line without a bag of coins in their hands, kill him imdiately." As said nonchalantly.
The two of them nodded and turned towards the enemy group. Haruto pulled his katana out and took his stance. Yellow mana covering his body. A runic circle appeared in front of Akari, two water balls floated out and morphed into two sharp water arrows, ready to fly away with just a wave of Akari’s hand.
"Haha! I was treating you nicely. But it seems you’re one of those proud ones." The leader said in a cold tone. He nodded at two of his gang mbers at the side. They imdiately pulled out two swords and stepped forward.
"Hehehe! Let’s slash so soft at." One of them said, looking lecherously at Akari.
Just when their steps fell on the ground just outside the line. The two water arrows passed through their chest. taking the hearts out, stuck at the arrow tip. The shape of the arrow disintegrated as the water fell on the ground with the heart. The two of their bodies tilted back and fell hard on the floor.
"Y-You...how dare you!? Do you know the consequences of this?" the leader scread. He was shocked by the sudden attacks. He never imagined that As was this serious. even ntioning the tiger was not effective on him.
"W-What are you all looking at? They are just a few! Attack them together." He yelled at the remaining seven as they pulled their swords and spears out and rushed ahead. Screaming at the top of their lungs.
"Leave this to Akari." Haruto stopped her from forming more arrow. She nodded and moved her arms down.
Mana covered his whole body and small lightnings zapping around him could be seen.
"Flash swipe." Haruto vanished from his spot. A trail of lightning could be seen passing through the gang mbers rushing towards them. He appeared on the other side as the lightning trail died down. Slowly the ones running, stopped one by one. fountain of blood gushed out from the cut on their neck. Before they could say anything, their limp bodies fell on the ground. Not a single one alive.
The leader was shaking behind the line now. he finally realized, As was not joking, nor was he afraid a single bit of him. He regretted coming here. He quickly pulled a pouch full of coins out of his dinsional ring and ran towards As.
"P-Please spare ! I won’t co back here again. here’s the f-five thousand coins." He fell near As’s feet, kneeling and begging to save himself.
As took the pouch and opened it as he looked at the shining gold coins inside.
"Just you wait fucker. You’ll beg like this when our boss cos for your head." Seeing As take the coins, he smirked, hiding his face. He was planning to take revenge for this insult.
"Hmm. But there’s a coin less here though." As said.
"H-How can it be? I’ve counted it myself, there’s defi..." He was surprised as he had counted the coins himself after extorting it from an old shop owner. He lifted his head up and looked towards As when he saw him smiling at him. A gold coin in his hand that he tossed to Lamia at his side.
"You’re one coin short you see." As said with a wide smirk on his face.
"You bastar..." Before he could say more, his head separated from the body and rolled on the ground. A fountain of blood rushed out and his body fell sideways, never to move again.
"Don’t you dare insult leader in front of ." Zankoku sheathed his katana, wiping the blood off his sleeve.
"Check if they have any coins and other valuables. After it’s done bring the bodies to the training room." As said.
"As you wish leader." Zankoku bowed his head, accepting his command.
"Haruto and Akari!" With a wide smile on his face, As called the two of them as they hurriedly moved in front of him and bowed their heads.
"I must say. I’m impressed with you two. You have moved the prowess of Demons parade a notch higher. I’m appointing Haruto captain of squad 2 and Akira, captain of squad 3. Both of you will have four mbers under your teams. Train them and manage your team well. I have high expectations from both of you."
Haruto and Akira were surprised. they couldn’t believe the demon king was praising them.
"Thank you, leader!" the two of them bowed, bending their waists almost parallel to the ground.
"Take care of them." As said softly to Zankoku. He smiled and bowed his head.
"Where are Shatun and Carmilla? I haven’t seen them for days." As asked.
"They are in the desert. Both of them are hunting beasts and searching for fresh food as they say." Lamia said.
"I see. Call them back. We need to be prepared now. A response will definitely co soon for the ssage we sent today." As said, looking at the bodies lying in their pool of blood.
"I’ll call them back." Lamia nodded.
"What about the things I asked for you?" As asked Lamia.
"I’ve got them. I had to spend quite a lot in the black market. All my funds are gone. You need to pay extra for this." Lamia complained, teasing As.
"Alright. You can take these coins then." As passed the pouch of coins to her as he chuckled.
"Hehe! Nice." She took the pouch and pocketed it imdiately inside her ring. She then took out a dinsional ring from her robe pocket inside and passed it to As.
"You got everything?" As asked.
"Everything." She affird.
As nodded and started moving away, towards their base. After he left, Lamia gathered mana on her hands when a runic magic circle appeared over her palms. A small translucent raven ca out of the circle.
"Find Shatun and Carmilla and ask them to co back as soon as possible." Her eyes glowed after she gave the command. Similarly, the raven’s eyes glowed when he received Lamia’s words.
"Caw! Caw!" the raven then flew away. Moving out of the city towards the vast desert.

BOOM!
Shatun landed a punch on the hard exoskeleton of the scorpio, caving it inside the loose sand, breaking its tough outer shell, as web like cracks spread on it.
Carmilla was levitating in the air. A crimson runic circle appeared in front of her and two blood arrows ca out. she waved her hand forward as the arrows rushed towards the scorpio. Shatun jumped out of the way imdiately. The two arrows pierced through the broken exoskeleton and pierced in.
With a loud screech the scorpio went limp. She then slowly levitated down, moving towards the body of the beast. Shatun was chipping the hard outer shell away, so as to munch on the inner soft skin.
"Let take the blood first." Carmilla said.
"No! whenever you take the blood away. It doesn’t stay tasty at all. I want it tasty this ti. You took the blood of the last one too." Shatun looked at her coldly. Giving her a warning. Ready to jump at her if she refuses to listen.
"Who do you think you’re threatening, you bastard? You’re weaker than . Feel lucky that at least I’m letting you eat and only taking the blood for myself."
"I’ll stronger than earlier. I can take you now. No matter what, I want to eat tasty this ti." Shatun growled, not bending.
"Tch! Why do you co out always. I like your brother. Let him stay out more." Carmilla said, clicking her tongue in annoyance.
"Don’t talk about my brother. I’ll kill you if you try to do anything funny with him behind my back."
"Hahaha! Look at this fucker. I’ll just end you and pull you out of Kiba’s body." Mana started gathering on Carmilla’s palms as she was about to charge at Shatun when suddenly her eyes fell on a translucent bird flying towards them.
She stopped herself and retracted her mana. The raven ca to a stop in front of them and disintegrated into black smoke. The smoke then slowly took shape into words and arranged themselves into a sentence.
[Co back! it’s ergency]
"What is this?" Shatun asked curiously.
"Seems like there’s an ergency. As has called for us." Carmilla said. "Let’s go."
She started levitating and the flew away, not even waiting a second for him.
"I don’t know the way! Oi! Wait for ." Shatun scread but she didn’t listen and left already. He teared the body of the scorpio into two and biting the shorter part, while holding the other part in his hand, jumped up in the air, chasing Carmilla.
