When they set out, they only brought insulated mugs for carrying water that could be heated by solar-powered batteries, which could completely solve the water source issue, ensuring they wouldn’t have to resort to drinking raw water.
But wanting to enjoy soup here was another hurdle altogether, as it was extrely difficult to move through the rainforest, and nobody would think of carrying a pot with them.
Tang Shu had been observing the local soil along the way, which was entirely suitable for pottery, thus she conceived the idea. With the conditions at hand, she naturally did not want to give up the dream of having soup.
After fussing with the muddy hands for quite a while, she dug a pit beneath the fire and placed the makeshift pot inside, waiting quietly.
Geng Qiuqiu thought she was playing and didn’t take it seriously, “Here, have a fish to fill your stomach first.”
Having trekked through the rainforest the whole day, everyone felt boundless fatigue despite being fit from prior workouts. This program was truly not for the faint-hearted.

With food and water aplenty, everyone was in a much better mood than during the day. People across the fire seed to unlock their vault of words, chatting with the person next to them. Yin Dong also began consulting Andre on wilderness survival skills, their animated conversation breaking down the barrier of strangers.
After half an hour, Tang Shu had eaten more than a pound of fish and then casually started digging up the baked earth with a branch, soon retrieving the concave object she had buried earlier.
After blowing off the outer layer of ashes and dirt, Tang Shu got up, went to the seaside, washed the item, and brought it back.
“Sister Geng, do you still have the fresh water we collected?”

Tang Shu might not have been adept at cooking other dishes, but making a fish soup with so wild vegetables was well within her reach. She secured the newly-made small pot over the campfire, poured in around two liters of water, and added the cleaned fish into it.

“Yes, Ms. Owen.”
“Stop calling Owen. We’re acquaintances now, and I think you’re great, call Darcy, okay?”
