Chapter 102: 101. Diagnostic result Chapter 102: 101. Diagnostic result “Hello, student, are you here for an internship?”

“Yes.”

“Co this way.”

Tang Shu followed the nurse into the expert’s office and realized that there were already three people waiting.

Two male students and one female, all unfamiliar faces.

If her mory hadn’t failed her, she was certain that these three weren’t from her class.

However, even though Tang Shu didn’t know the other three, her renowned status at dical University had drawn their continuous scrutiny.

In their gazes, there was both examination and a sense of understanding.

After nodding and exchanging greetings with the three others, Tang Shu quietly stood to one side with her notebook, waiting.

Before long, the door to the expert’s office was pushed open, and a man of about fifty entered, his na displayed on the na tag of his white coat.

Zhang Qi.

After surveying each of the four, he took his seat.

“I assu you have already learned ‘The Four Diagnose Skills’ at school?”

“Yes, Teacher Zhang.”

“Good, this morning’s task is simple. Starting at 8 o’clock, patients will co in for consultation one after another. I will have you each take their pulse and you will have two minutes to hand the diagnosis. Any questions?”

“No, Teacher Zhang.”

Zhang Qi’s deanor was straightforward, and he spoke succinctly, without any nonsense, which put quite a bit of pressure on the three interns.

Tang Shu, along with the others, nodded in response. She couldn’t deny that this was the most efficient way to test their learning, and having Doctor Zhang ask for the diagnosis results to be handed directly to him also protected the privacy of the four quite well.

The nurse quickly ca in, handing out a dical record book to each of them in preparation.

With the start of the eight o’clock session, patients began coming in one after the other, signifying the beginning of the four students’ assessnts.

For Tang Shu, this was her first ti handling such a situation. She saw over thirty patients that morning, and as her dical record book was about to run out, her shift ended.

The lunch was a boxed al brought by the nurse, which, including Doctor Zhang, they finished in 20 minutes, and then the five of them began a discussion eting in the expert’s office.

“I have a general understanding of your abilities. Let’s discuss the two patients with the largest diagnostic discrepancies. The first is about Madam Li Xiaoyun’s diagnosis; Student Tang Shu, you diagnosed an abdominal tumor. What is your evidence?”

As Zhang Qi finished speaking, the other three students looked at her with surprised faces, their expressions filled with disbelief.

In Tang Shu’s mind, she recalled the patient for a mont, “Madam Li’s pulse was irregular, seemingly congested at the heart, but actually caused by poor lung respiration. Besides, she had a pale complexion, and there were black spots on her eyelids.”

Zhang Qi paused, then looked at the other students, “The three of you reached a consistent diagnosis, attributing Madam Li’s condition to work-related fatigue, correct?”

“…Yes.”

How could it be a tumor?!

The three looked shocked, their eyes filled with anticipation as they turned to Zhang Qi.

“Originally, my diagnosis matched yours, but after seeing Tang Shu’s result, I had Madam Li Xiaoyun undergo an additional examination, and now the result is out.”

As he spoke, he opened a file on the computer, which was an image.

When the computer screen faced the four individuals, they all looked imdiately at the lungs and indeed saw a barely visible tiny foreign object.

“There indeed is a tumor in her lung, but what I am curious about is, how did you determine this, Student Tang Shu, considering such a small foreign body is hard to detect even with an examination?”
