"ngng, did you already have the design concept figured out beforehand?" Xu Wanwan asked.
"No, I have so many things to think about every day, how could I spend ti pondering this?" Every day I have to think about where I'm going to play today, what I'll have for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, what my midnight snack will be...it really takes up too much brain power.
Everyone: ......
"So in just one hour you were able to co up with two design drafts while conceptualizing and drawing at the sa ti?" Shi Shuning said in astonishnt.
"Yup, I thought it up as I drew. Is that very difficult?" Ye Jinng tilted her head, puzzled.
Everyone: ......
He Junting said expressionlessly: "So what were you in such a panic over earlier?"
"It's the last day and I haven't done my howork yet. Shouldn't I be panicking?" Ye Jinng was confused. From elentary to high school she had always rushed to cram in her howork during the last day or two of vacation...
The crowd was speechless...
Shi Shuan: "Then why were you crying while drawing earlier???"
"Because big brother said he wouldn't give any food to eat. Every ti I think about not having anything to eat I start crying, and once I start crying I can't stop. Now that I've finished the drawings and there's food to eat, I've stopped crying."
Everyone: ......
Although Ye Jinchen was not a designer, he had seen his share of designers' drafts at the company. These two design drafts in front of him, although the details were not as exquisite as those by famous designers, were still quite eye-catching in both style and color sche, especially for a student. They were already very outstanding.
"Not bad. It seems you really do have talent in this area."
Shi Shuan also expressed astonishnt. "You really are quite amazing. With efficiency like this, ngng's procrastination tendencies wouldn't have any impact at all!"
"Hahaha, see, I told you my precious daughter wouldn't disappoint!" Ye Junli patted his little girl on the shoulder, face full of pride. Just look at my precious girl, so outstanding!
Ye Jinng was embarrassed by the complints. "Oh stop, you're making shy. So...what are we having for lunch? What ti will food be ready?"
"Haha, my precious girl, just wait. Mom will make you sothing delicious right away."
Seeing her little daughter's expectant look, Gu Qi's heart lted into mush.
"Love you, Mom!"
After the al, the rain still hadn't let up and everyone returned to their rooms to rest.
Lying on the bed looking up at the ceiling, Xu Wanwan reminisced about the blissful, happy tis over the past few days.
This was probably the happiest ti she had experienced over two lifetis.
Ye Jinchen, Shi Shuning and the others had let down their initial guard against her and truly accepted her as a friend.
Ye Dad and Ye Mom also treated her very well, allowing her to experience the warmth of family.
Perhaps this was heaven's way of giving her a second chance at life, bestowing upon her the best gift.
Xu Wanwan rolled over, resting her right hand under her head as she looked at the sleeping Ye Jinng beside her. The corners of her lips unconsciously curved up.
She carefully extended her left forefinger and lightly tapped Ye Jinng's little nose. Seeing her unconsciously wrinkle her nose, Xu Wanwan let out a quiet laugh and drew back her hand.
Just then Ye Jinng suddenly opened her eyes. Xu Wanwan got a fright, afraid her little gesture had woken Ye Jinng up. Just as she was about to apologize, she saw Ye Jinng imdiately flip out of bed, voice urgent.
"Ahhh, ate too much at lunch. Gotta go bad!"
Xu Wanwan couldn't help laughing. "So even little fairies need to poop, huh?"
Ye Jinng's voice floated out from the bathroom: "Whether it's little fairies, dark magicians, or Ultraman, everyone's gotta go!"
"Hahahaha......"
Well, Xu Wanwan had wanted to use the bathroom too, but with Ye Jinng occupying it, and no common bathroom upstairs, she'd have to go down to the first floor.
Just after coming out of the first floor bathroom, about to head upstairs, she heard a cold voice call out from behind.
"Miss Xu, got a minute to talk?"
Xu Wanwan gave a start and looked back to see Ye Junwen.
"Uncle Ye? What's the matter?"
Xu Wanwan was a bit nervous, wondering what ngng's weird little uncle wanted with her.
Ye Junwen gave a faint smile. "Oh nothing much, just wanted to chat with you. Let's go sit over there for a bit."
He pointed to the sofa by the floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room.
"Okay..."
The two sat down on the sofa in front of the windows. Ye Junwen handed Xu Wanwan a glass of water. Xu Wanwan anxiously offered her thanks.
"Don't be nervous, Miss Xu." Ye Junwen's expression was gentle.
"Which part of the country are you from, Miss Xu?"
From the start Xu Wanwan had bad feelings about Ye Junwen's designs on ngng, and now he was actually asking about her hotown. Just what was this Uncle Ye up to?
But politeness dictated a tepid response: "Er...I'm from a little mountain village near Linyun City..."
"Linyun City..." Ye Junwen lightly tapped the tabletop, seemingly lost in thought about sothing.
"Is sothing the matter?" Xu Wanwan didn't understand what Ye Junwen was getting at.
"Oh, nothing. You just resemble soone I know. I thought you might be her relative. But her relatives don't seem to be from Linyun City. Probably just my imagination running wild. Haha."
"I see..." Xu Wanwan smiled awkwardly.
From the first mont Ye Junwen saw Xu Wanwan at the Ye family villa, she had looked vaguely familiar, but he couldn't rember who she resembled. So at the ti he had stared fixedly at Xu Wanwan for quite a while.
After interacting these past few days, the sense of familiarity had grown stronger.
Especially when Xu Wanwan was chatting with Ye Junli and Gu Qi, Ye Junwen felt Xu Wanwan actually resembled the Ye family more than Ye Jinng did.
Xu Wanwan's eyes were very similar to Gu Qi's, while her nose and mouth bore a 90% similarity to Ye Junli's!
This discovery both alard and delighted Ye Junwen.
Ever since realizing he had fallen for his little niece Ye Jinng, Ye Junwen had often fantasized: if only Ye Jinng wasn't of the Ye family. If that were so, could they openly and fair be together?
Sotis he had even doubted that he wasn't the son of Grandma and Grandpa Ye. But Ye Junwen's looks in his youth were the spitting image of his father, so that was clearly impossible.
And now, if his suspicions were correct and Xu Wanwan really was Ye Junli and Gu Qi's daughter, didn't that an Ye Jinng wasn't? Then he would be on equal footing with Shi Shuning in vying for her affections!
However, if Xu Wanwan truly was of the Ye family, how did she end up in Linyun City? He would have to thoroughly investigate Xu Wanwan's background. It could just turn out to be false hope on his part.
Seeing Ye Junwen lowered in head in thought, Xu Wanwan grew sowhat impatient.
