Chapter 223: Graduation

The grand hall was filled with the sound of excited chatter as the graduating students gathered, dressed in their ceremonial robes.

The air buzzed with a mixture of pride, anticipation, and a touch of bittersweet nostalgia. Today was a monuntal day—the day they would finally leave the academy behind and step into the next Chapters of their lives.

Adeline sat among her friends, the soft fabric of her graduation attire feeling both strange and satisfying.

On her right, Maia was practically glowing, her excitent contagious as she whispered about her new job with the Imperial Council. Victoria and Layla sat on her left, both carrying an air of confidence knowing they were prepared to inherit the titles ant for them.

The four of them were a diverse group, but at this mont, they were united by the shared accomplishnt of reaching this milestone.

The Dean stepped up to the podium at the front of the hall, commanding silence with his presence alone. The crowd of students quieted, their attention shifting to the man who had overseen their education. He was an imposing figure, his dark robes flowing around him as he surveyed the room with a solemn expression.

"Congratulations, graduates," he began, his voice steady and clear. "Today, we celebrate not only your achievents but also the bonds you have forged and the challenges you have overco. Each of you has taken a unique path to get here, and each of you carries a story worth telling."

He paused, letting his words sink in.

"As I stand here, I see the future of our Empire before . So of you have powers that will shape the very fabric of our world. Others among you do not, but that does not diminish your value or your potential. Power cos in many forms, and it is not always the loudest or the most visible that makes the greatest impact."

Adeline exchanged a glance with Maia, who nodded slightly, her eyes shining with pride.

"To those of you with powers," the Dean continued, "you bear a responsibility. Your gifts are tools, and how you choose to wield them will define you. Use them wisely. Rember that power is not a license for cruelty or greed, but an opportunity to serve and protect."

Victoria and Layla sat a little straighter, their expressions unreadable but their attentiveness obvious. Both had powers that made them forces to be reckoned with, and the Dean’s words felt like they were ant for them.

Not only do they possess elental powers, but they also have titles to bear, people that they should look after, and serve the Empire ultimately.

"And to those of you without powers," he said, his gaze sweeping over the crowd. "Do not let the world define you by what you lack. Your strength lies in your ingenuity, your determination, and your unwavering spirit. The Empire needs leaders, thinkers, and innovators just as much as it needs warriors."

"You leave this academy as equals," the Dean said firmly. "Your paths may diverge, but you are all part of a greater whole. Whether you inherit titles, pursue careers, or carve out new destinies, rember the lessons you have learned here. Carry them with you, and never stop striving to be better."

The hall erupted into applause, and the Dean waited patiently for it to subside before continuing.

"I would like to take a mont to acknowledge a few individuals who have stood out during their ti here," he said. "Victoria and Layla, your dedication and leadership have set a standard for others to follow. I have no doubt that you will bring honour to your families and fulfil your roles with distinction."

While Layla seed like an airhead, clumsy and disoriented, she was a genius. She was nothing like people’s first impression of her. She and Victoria managed to achieve great things in the academy.

Maia went with a more subtle route and joined the student council which paved the way for her to join the actual council and work for the governnt.

She perford just as well, among all of them Adeline might have been the one with ’least’ achievents. Adeline was not interested in being the topper in her classes. She focussed more on understanding the encrypted scrolls she got from the restricted section of the library.

She did well enough in the theory classes but she shined the most in combat classes. No one could get a scratch on her. She was simply too strong. She truly earned her na as a Kendrick. She was simply a war machine!

The Dean stepped back from the podium, his final words ringing out. "Graduates, as you leave these halls, rember this: greatness is not given, it is earned. Go forth and make your mark on the world. Congratulations."

The applause was deafening this ti, the sound echoing off the walls as the students cheered and clapped. The atmosphere was electric, filled with hope and excitent for the future.

As the ceremony concluded, the graduates began to file out of the hall, their robes flowing behind them. Adeline and her friends lingered for a mont, taking in the sight of the grand hall one last ti.

Victoria and Layla were deep in conversation about their plans to take over their respective titles, their confidence as unshakable as ever. Maia was practically bouncing on her heels, her excitent bubbling over as she talked about the benefits her new job would bring her family.

And Adeline... Adeline couldn’t help but feel a mix of emotions. She was proud of her friends, excited for their futures, but uncertain about her own. She had no grand plans, no titles to inherit, no career waiting for her. For now, she was simply... Adeline.

But maybe that was okay. That was her plan to begin with.

As they walked out into the bright sunlight, Adeline glanced at her friends and smiled. Whatever the future held, they had made it this far together. And that, at least, was worth celebrating.
