85 The Male Lead’s Role

He Miao made dinner in her new apartnt.

On this trip to the supermarket to buy ingredients, Jing Yan forced her to stuff kitchen utensils into her shopping cart.

He Miao could not refuse, so he just let him put it. She would have to buy these utensils sooner or later anyway, and this person in front of her was acting out of character today, actively working for her, so why not?

Jing Yan’s mood improved after he was done shopping. He stared unblinkingly at He Miao, who was cooking in the kitchen, and could not help but roll up his sleeves to help.

He felt like he was possessed. He used to hate seeing He Miao, but recently, for so reason, whenever He Miao’s figure appeared in his line of sight, his eyes would unconsciously follow her.

The closer he got to He Miao, the more he hated his carelessness in the past.

He did not even know one ten-thousandth of He Miao, but he subjectively hated her to the extre.

No matter how much he did not want to admit it, he could not lie to his heart. He had developed a strong curiosity about He Miao. He did not know that He Miao knew how to make perfus. She was shining brightly on stage, and just standing there was enough to beco the focus of everyone.

The food she made was also very fragrant, and the back view of her wearing an apron in the kitchen fascinated him.

He did not know what it was like to like soone. He only knew that when he heard with his own ears that she was going to leave, his heart only felt endless loneliness and panic.

Subconsciously, he had fallen so deep that even a few days of not seeing her would make his heart ache. That was why he went back on his words and chased her to the capital with Onion. From the mont she stepped on stage, he did not miss a second of her.

“Hiss! Hiss!” Jing Yan sucked in a cold breath. He was too engrossed in his thoughts and did not pay attention that he cut himself.

He Miao turned around when she heard the sound. She saw blood coming out of his fingertips and ran to the living room to find the first aid kit.

Jing Yan stared at her back in a daze. He rembered that when she had a fever last ti, he had accidentally touched her most secret place with his paw when he was asuring her temperature.

His Adam’s apple moved up and down, and his face was a little hot.

He Miao turned around and saw that even the tips of his ears were red. He smiled and handed him the band-aid. “You’re not embarrassed because you cut your hand while cutting the vegetables, are you?”

“No.” Jing Yan could hear his own voice turning a little hoarse. His eyes were burning as he stared at He Miao’s back as he started to cook again. He opened his mouth, wanting to say sothing, but was interrupted by soone.

“Young Master Jing has never been to the kitchen, has he? Why don’t I do it?” Li Ming put one hand on the kitchen door fra and looked at them lazily.

The heat on Jing Yan’s face quickly receded, and his burning eyes turned into ice.

Before he could open his mouth to curse, He Miao turned around and looked at Xu ng, who was sitting alone on the sofa. She smiled and said, “You can just sit with ngng, the food will be ready soon.”

Jing Yan glared at Li Ming provocatively, and his gloomy heart suddenly cleared up.

Unfortunately, he was in a bad mood for a mont. Xu ng, who had been staying out of it all this ti, suddenly spoke up to add to his troubles. “Goddess, the male actor who will be acting with you in the short series has been confird. It’s the troupe leader, Wang Ke.”

She raised her phone and showed it to He Miao with a regretful expression. “I wanted to check for you personally, but when our troupe leader heard that you were going to be the female lead, he imdiately decided on his own and promised that he would pay for all the expenses of this short series. Does this count as bringing funds into the production?”

He Miao glanced at the average-looking man on the screen and shook her head. “I’m just doing you a favor. I’m not going to be an actress. As long as you think it’s good.”

“Let see.” Jing Yan took the phone with a frown. He looked at the man in the photo, who was not very good-looking but quite eye-catching. He sneered and asked, “When are you guys planning to start filming this drama?”

“Are you coming next week?” Xu ng asked with anticipation.

Jing Yan neither denied nor admitted it. He returned the phone to Xu ng expressionlessly. “Send a copy of the script later.”

Sensing xu ng’s surprised gaze, Jing Yan added, “Don’t misunderstand. I just want to see if your script is so bad that it’ll embarrass the school. After all, I heard that the short series this ti is about representing the school in the league tournant.”
