[Jevan current perspective]

When I turned around, there was a tall man standing there, half of his body almost chanical. His intact hand was surrounded by layers of interlocked tals made from different pieces until it turned into an enormous arm. That hand.. was now buried in my chest, technically, it had pierced straight through .

Anyway, is this what it feels like when a giant tal hand pierces your chest? Well, it’s not the best feeling one could have.

I quickly stepped back, it was the fastest way to pull that hand out of my chest. Luckily, it worked, with the least amount of pain possible.

The chanical man stopped where he stood, clear shock on his face.

He soon said in a rough voice,

"How are you still standing?"

I wiped the blood from my mouth with the back of my hand, then said in a deliberately dramatic tone,

"Oh, sorry, I don’t answer cowards who hide in the back and wait for the fight to end before they move."

He didn’t respond to my provocation, all he did was raise his massive tal arm again, trying to hit . But this ti, unlike the previous one, I was ready. I dodged his strike, which hit the ground with a loud crash that sent dust flying everywhere.

The only reason he hit the first ti was because he ambushed from behind. Now, that advantage was gone. He kept trying to attack , every strike was incredibly fast, yet I dodged them flexibly and with minimal effort.

I approached him, then pulled one of my playing cards from my pocket and got ready to throw it, but then a thick gray fog began to spread from his chanical arm, surrounding him. I quickly backed away while covering my mouth with my hand.

That fog was very familiar. I focused on his face, and then I realized, isn’t this... the man who kidnapped little Jevan and Marco? Who would’ve thought I’d et him here? But that’s not a big problem, I’ve got so unfinished business to settle with him.

I raised my hand to impose a new rule, but he didn’t give the ti to do it. He raised his arm, and then tal pieces began gathering around it from every direction. The guards’ swords, their shields, tal keys, even the doors were ripped from their places. The seats in the hall too, all were drawn to his grasp. He forged from all those pieces an enormous sword.

He tried to crush with his tal fist, I rolled on the ground at the last mont and avoided the attack, but he didn’t give ti to rest. He quickly lunged at with that giant sword.

I jumped and dodged the strike again, this ti with great difficulty. Yet he didn’t stop, he was firing many small tallic balls at which, unfortunately, weren’t just ordinary ones. As soon as they ca close to , they turned into extrely sharp blades. Each one of them aid to cut my skin from a different direction.

I jumped back avoiding an attack from his giant hand, and when one of the blades ca near , I kicked it with my foot. That was very painful (although I don’t feel pain), so I decided not to think about repeating that again.

I ran over the giant sword he made of tals until I got very close to him. Then I raised my hand and threw a group of playing cards toward him. Those cards flew fast and turned into a group of black crows that rushed at him.

But he didn’t seem scared of that, he raised his hand and a group of iron chairs shot from afar to collide with the crows, tearing them apart until they turned back into playing cards. The cards scattered around us, as I stood facing the man holding many cards in my hand that I had taken from my bag.

He tried to attack again with that giant hand, I dodged the strike at the last mont and started running through the destroyed hall while throwing playing cards on the ground in every direction.

But while I was dodging the next attack from his giant sword, his tal hand hit from the side. I was thrown backward by the force of the hit, almost crashing into the wall, but I quickly regained my balance.

I ran again while dodging a group of tal blades flying toward from every direction. I threw more cards on the ground while thinking,

"How the hell does he do this? Does he have telekinesis? No... doesn’t seem like it. He only moves tal. Could there be an Authority called the Authority of tal? Or the Authority of Magnetism? Do such Authorities even exist?"

While I was thinking about that, I noticed there were still tal shards embedded in my body from the first hit.

"Damn you..."

I muttered while pulling a dagger from my bag. I quickly started pulling the shards out of my flesh while still dodging his attacks.

When I pulled out the last piece from my shoulder, the tal balls that were chasing stopped and fell to the ground.

I looked at the chanical man, who raised his hand and tried to attack again, this ti with much greater ferocity.

I raised my hand and quickly muttered,

"First rule, the use of any kind of Authority power related to tals is forbidden."

As soon as I spoke the rule, the scattered cards around started glowing, and from my gloves ca red transparent chains that extended from my hands and the playing cards.

Those chains wrapped around the chanical man’s body, and then his giant hand fell to the ground along with his sword, both turning into piles of scrap tal scattered on the floor.

I approached him, and when he tried to release that thick smoke from his arm again, I quickly raised my hand, and as soon as I pointed toward him, a group of cards on the ground turned into flocks of black crows that flew at him at great speed.

He tried to repel them, but they turned back into sharp cards that stuck to his body from all directions, making him fall to the ground unable to move. I then approached and plunged the dagger into his chest, and his eyes finally closed.

I couldn’t even celebrate his death because soon his body began glowing red. Then the tals scattered everywhere started shaking, rising quickly into the air. The swords, the chains, and all the iron pieces were drawn toward his corpse. I tried to run, but it was useless the room turned into a vortex of iron, all of it being pulled toward the man’s body.
