Chapter 607: Last Period
Just like that, I had sealed my own fate. Truly, it was a disaster. I now had to spend all of tonight with Sylvoir, and while the term ‘spending ti’ usually ant a good thing, especially when it was with an extrely beautiful goddess like Sylvoir, but in her specific case, it was anything but.
I had played right into her hands. From the very beginning, she had anticipated that I would use so sort of excuse like this to try and cover up my previous mistake, and had already prepared counterasures beforehand. She was a calculating fiend, even more so than I was, and she had completely outsmarted my outsmarting.
I sighed.
Just now, the hell known as her Physical Education class finally ca to an end, and we were now entering the 5 minute break between each each of the 4 periods of the day. We did absolutely nothing except train our muscles using basic but intense exercises, and boy did we burn a lot of calories. Thankfully, Sylvoir didn’t ask us to do any running, or else everyone would’ve gotten horrible cramps… really, what kind of shit luck did our class have to get Phys.Ed right after lunch?
On the way out of the classroom, Prince ca up beside and tapped on the shoulder.
“… Good luck tonight, comrade.”
That was all he said, with a solemn expression on his face, and a rigid thumbs-up. It took everything I had not to collapse on the spot in depression, since I knew what awaited was a whole 8 hours of torture that Sylvoir had no doubt already planned out completely to make sure I received max levels of agony and pain, both physically and emotionally. Even Prince was coming up to and wishing good luck… oh how far I’ve fallen.
“Big Brother Xuan Kai… do you want us to go with you for tonight?” Qing Yue asked in worry. “I’m not sure who she is, but you two seem to know each other previously. Is it a feud, and she’s picking on you on purpose? If that’s the case, we can go to the Administration Campus and repor-”
“No, no, it’s alright…” I said with a sad smile on my face, having already given up. “Reporting her won’t do anything, and it’ll only make her pick on more… but yes, she’s an acquaintance of mine I t a while back by chance. Due to certain reasons, our relationship is partly hate, partly care, but she really only cares about staying alive. Other than that, she wants to hurt herself as much as possible.”
“Wow… that’s one weird chemistry,” Feng Mian mused. “I’m curious, but… looking at the grief on your face, I’m going to do the good thing and not question.”
“Hmmm, but I want to know,” Amane butted in. “Is she a side lover, Xuan Kai? A vengeful ex-girlfriend? If need be, I can protect you tonight, when you go to see her…”
“No, no, you’ve got it all wrong,” I said, sighing. “She and I aren’t like that, and there’s no need for you to accompany . She’s loads stronger than both you and I combined. Even if you tried to ‘protect’ , you’d only end up increasing the punishnt for both yourself and I.”
“You two aren’t like that, huh…?” Eve laughed. “However, knowing you, I wonder how long that will remain true.”
I glared at her. “What’s that supposed to an?”
“Who knows?” Eve giggled, refusing to give a straight answer, so Lin Luo decided to step in, being the blunt person she was.
“She’s talking about how much of a playboy you are, Xuan Kai. Scum of the earth… look around you. You’ve made all these girls fall in love with you and follow you around to the edges of the planet. And that Sylvoir teacher…? She’s going to join the list soon, no doubt.”
“As are you,” Yu An Yan teased with a grin, to which Lin Luo froze up and blushed furiously.
“W-What are you talking about? I’m only here because I still have yet to get my full power back from this Casanova. Once he returns it to , I’ll be gone in an instant, believe ! I have my own troubles to worry about…”
“Analysis, complete,” Zhao Xiuying suddenly interrupted, looking directly at Lin Luo. “You, are lying.”
“Oh… did she use mind reading techniques?” Obsidia remarked, as if amused. “Elves… truly frightening creatures.”
“S-Shut up!” Lin Luo yelled, turning away and refusing to show anyone her face. She looked down at the ground as she walked, as if contemplating digging a hole on the spot and diving into it to hide.
“Fufu… such a lively bunch,” Xuan Yu said with a warm smile, like an older sister to her younger siblings. “Kai Kai, you should treat them well, you know? Or big sis will never forgive you.”
“Yeah, yeah, I know. Don’t need you tell ,” I muttered. As if I needed to be told that these girls are priceless, irreplaceable treasures in my eyes… though that way of putting it might be a bit materialistic.
“We’re getting off track,” Axilia interjected airily, staring up at the sky as loftily as ever. “Back to the original topic… darling, let kill that teacher for you, mkay~?”
“That was… not the original topic…” Yu An Xue murmured uncomfortably.
“Eh? It wasn’t? Oh…” Axilia’s eyes glazed over again, entering yet another airy trance.
Suddenly, out from my chest jumped out a beautiful white fox with a intricate mark on her forehead, and two large and beautiful differently-colored eyes.
“… Master, ti.”
“Huh?” I glanced down at my Navigator, and saw that there was only one minute before the next period started. We’d gotten off track talking, and were now at risk of being late. “Oh, shit! Thanks, Lorelei! Xiao Su, quick, what’s our next class?”
“Um…” Xiao Su asked her Navigator in her mind really quickly as she closed her eyes, and then opened her eyes again. “According to the Navigator… our last class for today is called Hex Knowledge. I think it’s just talking about currently known info about the Hex, and potential thods to counter them.”
