Mario, who wasn’t able to reach Marcello, had to seek out the butler to report the situation to. Viktor, however, was aware of what was happening. He knew Lucia was going to take Eduardo out of the house, and it would probably be the last day he’d ever be in Italy, but he chose to ignore it.

Well, that was what he wanted. He was relieved to see Eduardo leave the house while he watched from the window. He silently prayed that he would never return and by the ti Marcello returned, it would be too late to get him back.

But one thing Viktor was overlooking was the fact that Mario was at ho when everything happened.

"Are you listening to ? Eduardo was taken out of the manor!" Mario yelled at Viktor, who was uninterested in speaking.

"We need to get him back at all costs. Are you even listening to , you old fart!" Mario cursed in Italian. Viktor stopped what he was doing and shot a hard glare at Mario.

"What’s wrong with leaving the house with lady Lucia? They’ll be back before you know it". Viktor attempted to convince him, but Mario wasn’t buying it. No one was listening to him around the manor, so he left out of frustration. He still tried calling Marcello and, at the sa ti, looking for Eduardo. He drove around and even headed to the mall district but, there was no sign of Eduardo anywhere.

After an hour, his phone rang while he was in the car. His face brightened up when he saw Marcello’s na on the phone screen.

"Sir..."

"Twenty-five missed calls? Did sothing happen, Mario?"

"Boss, Eduardo left the house, and he hasn’t returned yet" Mario explained the situation, but Marcello seed a bit unconcerned.

"Eddy? Did he say where he was headed?" Marcello asked, calmly. He still had no idea what was going on.

"He left with lady Lucia for the mall..."

"He’ll return. There’s no way Eduardo will leave. Also, he’s strong enough to protect himself. I missed the morning flight, but I’ll catch the afternoon flight and return in no ti". He reassured Mario.

"Yes, boss", Mario responded, and the call was disconnected. Even Marcello was convinced that there was nothing to concern himself with, but Mario couldn’t shake off the feeling that sothing was definitely wrong. He drove ho and decided to wait for Eduardo’s return.

Instead, he saw that lady Lucia and her guard had returned ho.

Alone.

He watched how they entered the manor without any shopping bag or anything to show that they had been to the mall. Mario, with a concerned expression, tried to approach them. But he didn’t make any mistake in touching them so he wouldn’t get punched like earlier.

"Where is Eduardo?"

They stopped walking and furrowed their eyebrows. They both exchanged glances with each other and looked back at Mario.

"He isn’t back yet?" Lady Lucia questioned with her eyes widened. She was pretending to be surprised and Mario could see through her act.

"What bullshit are you spilling? Where is Eduardo? You clearly left with him."

"Don’t you dare speak to lady Lucia that way, or I’ll slice your neck", her guard tried to protect her from Mario who was already getting annoyed.

Mario smirked and suddenly burst into laughter. He stopped laughing and nodded his head slowly.

"I don’t have to say anything. The boss will be back soon, then you’ll explain to him yourself". He stepped back and walked out of the living room. Lady Lucia stood there, with a simple look on her face, but deep down, she had almost forgotten about Marcello.

’That devil isn’t going to do anything to , right? Of course, there’s no way he’ll try to hurt because of a re slave. Even if he tries to do sothing, I’ll tell my father’

She thought to herself. She was really convinced that nothing would happen to her.

...

That was until three hours later, Marcello got back to Italy. He arrived at the manor and the butlers were outside, welcoming him.

There was a happy expression on his face as he alighted from the car.

"Welco ho, young master" Viktor greeted, with a slight bow.

Marcello replied with a short hmm and looked upstairs to where Eduardo’s room was located. There was no sign of Eduardo standing by the window. He was expecting to be welcod coldly by him, but there was no sign of him.

As he entered the house, he took off the jacket and threw it at one of the other butlers.

Instead of Eduardo, Mario was the one waiting for him. Viktor hid the frown on his face. If Mario hadn’t been around, he was going to make up a lie claiming that Eduardo had run away. But Mario had witnessed everything. It would be difficult to make up such a lie.

Also, it was already late for Marcello to make a move even if he finds out what happened.

"Welco back, boss", Mario greeted him.

"Enough with the greetings, is he back yet?" Marcello questioned. Mario was silent. His eyes t with Viktor’s uninterested gaze. He then lowered his gaze and shook his head.

"I’m afraid he’s not."

The happy expression on Marcello’s face suddenly vanished as he creased his eyebrows.

"He’s not? Does that an she’s also not back?" He asked, not rembering his fiancée’s na.

Mario parted his lips and was about to answer when he was interrupted by soone behind him.

"It’s good to see you return ho safely", Lucia appeared. Marcello saw her and was wondering why she was there and Eduardo wasn’t there.

"You sound like you wanted dead" He raised an eyebrow and Lucia gave out a dry laughter.

"What kind of lady would want her fiancé dead?" She asked. Marcello started laughing as he got closer to her. It was obvious the laughter was fake. He finally reached where she was and bent his back to look at her face. His face suddenly turned cold and the death glare sent shivers down her spine. Her heart started beating so rapidly that she almost forgot how to breathe.

"Where is he?" He demanded, his voice low and nacing.

"I...I don’t know. He left us alone while we were at the mall and never ca back", Lucia stuttered. Marcello nodded his head and looked around. His butlers were silent, so was Viktor. As if they knew what was going to happen next, they didn’t even bother to look in his direction.

Marcello imdiately slamd his hand around her neck, grabbing her tight. His fingernails sank into her skin, causing her to bleed. Her face got redder as she struggled to breathe, but none of those concerned him.

"I’ll ask for the last ti. Where. Is. Eduardo?" He growled angrily as his expression darkened.
