They all turned to sit on the sofa, still amused, watching their big boss happily guiding his shy but calm wife into his office.

"Should I remind him about the pending eting?" Dylan asked, breaking the silence. "Those executives from Singapore, Hong Kong, New York, Tokyo, and Paris are still waiting for him in the conference room."

Collins didn’t even look up from his tablet. "Give him ti. Let them have their lovey-dovey mont. After years of work, work, work, he deserves it."

Martin laughed. "Lovey-dovey? I’ve never seen him like this. Look at him... he’s smiling like an innocent teenager. I think he has forgotten he’s the devil himself."

"He’s been like that ever since Evelyn ca into his life," Dylan chuckled. "Well, you should’ve seen how furious he was when he found out she was in danger earlier. I swear, the man is nearly set to wreck the entire building, bring it to the ground if necessary."

Collins nodded in agreent. "And yet, here he is, showing himself as a calm and loving husband. Love really works miracles."

"I’ll admit it. I never thought I’d see the day Axel Knight... Mr. Ruthless, Mr. ’I-don’t-do-feelings’, would look this... soft." Martin said, amused.

"Careful. If he hears you say that, you’ll be running your next World Major Marathon on a crutch." Dylan said.

All three of them burst into laughter.

...

While in Axel’s office.

Evelyn sank onto the soft leather sofa, sighing in relief as her tired legs finally rested.

Her heels had been punishing her since morning, and she silently vowed never to wear high heels when fighting.

Without a word, Axel knelt in front of her.

Evelyn blinked in surprise. "Axel... what are you—"

"Hold still," he said quietly. He carefully slipped off her heels one by one.

When he saw the red marks on her feet, his expression darkened. His jaw tightened as if the sight alone was an offense to him personally.

"Wait here," he said shortly, rising to his feet before she could protest.

Evelyn watched him stride across the spacious office toward a door in the corner. His tall figure disappeared for a mont. She heard a cabinet open, then the soft footsteps of soone returning.

He ca back holding a pair of soft white slippers, the kind usually found in luxury hotels.

"You can wear these for now until soone brings your comfortable sneakers," he said, kneeling again to slip them onto her feet.

Evelyn’s chest ward at the sight. This was the sa man the business world called ruthless, the one who could make board mbers wait for hours. Yet here he was, on one knee, tenderly putting slippers on her sore feet.

"Thank you, Axel. You spoil , did you know that?" she said softly, smiling at him.

When he looked up, their eyes t. His gaze was calm, yet filled with sothing that made her heart flutter every ti she looked at him.

"Do you want to eat sothing or drink?" he asked.

Evelyn followed his eyes toward the sleek coffee maker on the counter, beside a tray of pastries.

"No," she said, shaking her head. "I can make it myself. You should go to your eting. Don’t make them wait."

Axel smiled faintly and reached for her hand, giving it a firm squeeze. "No rush. They can wait."

She blinked, speechless. ’Was he serious?’

"Axel..." She exhaled and tugged his arm lightly until he sat beside her. "If you finish your eting faster, we can have lunch together. So, you’d better go now..."

A playful grin appeared on his lips as he rubbed his brow.

"My wife is too clever. Why didn’t I think of that?"

"Because you were too busy playing the role of a romantic husband," she teased.

He chuckled, leaning closer. "You call it playing the role of a husband. I call it showing the deep love inside ."

Evelyn was trying not to smile and tease him further.

"Alright, go," she said firmly.

"Hmmm. Alright," he replied with a reluctant sigh. But before leaving, he added, "Dylan will bring you an iPad. You can shop online while waiting. Buy anything you like."

"Anything?"

"Anything," he confird with a smirk. "Don’t worry about the price."

"Don’t tempt , Mr. Knight, you might be sorry," she said, crossing her arms with a playful grin.

He laughed softly. "Too late. Not gonna."

When Axel finally turned toward the door, Evelyn waved him off dramatically.

"Go make more money, Mr. Knight. I need to buy a lot of things," she said teasingly.

He shot her a look over his shoulder. "I will. My wife is about to empty my wallet."

Evelyn can’t help but laugh as he sees Axel close the door behind him.

For a mont, the office was silent.

Evelyn leaned back on the sofa, her smile lingering. Axel always had that effect on her; he could drive her insane and lt her heart in the sa minute.

...

After a while, curiosity pulled her up. She wandered toward the massive glass wall that overlooked the city.

The view took her breath away.

From the seventieth floor, the world below looked miniature.

Roads twisted like ribbons, cars glittered under the afternoon sun, and people looked no bigger than dots.

The sky stretched endlessly above, painted a clear blue, and she imagined how stunning the view must be at night, with the city lights twinkling like diamonds.

She pressed her hand lightly against the cool glass.

"What a view..." she murmured.

Just then, a light knock ca from the door.

Evelyn turned. "Co in!"

The door opened, and Dylan stepped in, smiling politely.

"Good afternoon, Mrs. Knight."

"Good afternoon, Dylan."

He walked over, holding a sleek black iPad in one hand.

"The boss told to give you this. It’s logged into the company’s shopping catalogue. You can browse freely... everything listed there is owned by Apex Holdings."

"Owned? You an, all those stores?"

"Every single one," Dylan said proudly. "You don’t have to worry about the price, Ma’am. It’s all part of the Knight privilege."

She couldn’t help but laugh.

"That sounds dangerous. You’re giving too much power."

Dylan grinned. "Just rember, whatever you buy will be delivered directly to your ho. So no need to carry anything yourself."

"That’s... actually impressive," she admitted.

"Oh, and Mrs. Knight," he added, checking his watch, "your shoes will arrive in a few minutes."

Evelyn smiled warmly.

"Thank you, Dylan. You’re always reliable."

"Soone has to keep the boss from losing his mind every ti you’re around."

"What’s that supposed to an?" Evelyn asked, a little confused.
