Chapter 105: Smoky Sheets

"Answer it." She whispered, attempting to stand up despite their joined bodies.

He pushed her back down to the bed.

"I can not."

"Why not?"

He resisted the urge to roll his eyes.

"It’s quite bad." He gestured at his rod.

She glanced down at it, colouring sheepishly.

"How bad is it?"

He held her hand and laid it on his arousal. She gripped it briefly before pulling her hand away as if she’d been burned.

"Oh dear." She muttered.

The knock ca again.

"Ignore it." He muttered into her ear as he began to move again.

She reached out and clutched the sheets, her hips tightening around him.

She was so tight - Gods, the way she clenched around him...

It was either she said his na or she’d lose her ability to walk properly altogether.

Gentleness no longer applied in their new contract. He thrust in and out of her heedlessly, deriving fuel from the silly sounds she was making.

She was his, even if it was just for the night.

He felt the pleasure rack through her, but he didn’t stop. He continued, watching it build inside her all over again.

Her eyes widened as his thrusts increased its pace.

His own release was building.

"Holy mother of... Yeren!" She said aloud as the pleasure spasd through her.

Hearing his na made his own release co faster. He exploded inside her once more before rolling off her.

He turned to look at her. His stubborn and audacious Claire Stenly.

Yeren laid a hand on her abdon. It rippled at his touch. The way she reacted to him made him smile.

"Cover yourself. Just in case it’s Andon."

She didn’t move. He didn’t want to move as well.

"I’m serious."

"At this point. I don’t care. You’ve paralyzed , Your Grace." She flashed him a daring grin.

"Well, I do care, Miss Stenly." He stressed out her na. "Cover yourself - or I’ll have to gouge out the eyes of any man who sees your nakedness."

She laughed. She actually laughed. It was the second ti he was hearing her laugh that night.

"Unless you’d help ." She held out a hand, but it collapsed back on the bed beside her.

The initial shyness seed to have left her. She hadn’t even bothered to cover herself like most won would in a futile attempt to reinstate their dignity.

He picked up one of his robes he’d slung across the chair and wore her, ensuring that it was fastened properly.

"I believe I should hide." She whispered, her gaze darting around the room for a suitable spot.

He watched her. She looked wild with her tousled hair and swollen lips.

He probably did too. Yeren ran a hand through his ssed up hair.

"There’s no need to hide. My servants don’t gossip. They’re loyal to only ." He slid another robe over himself and walked towards the door.

He opened it.

The serving maids stood there, holding different assortnts of food.

They were right on cue, he thought with a smirk.

"Co in." He stood aside for them to go in.

He waited for the gasp that usually followed such scenes.

Nothing.

Just the sound of scurrying feet and clanging silverware.

Yeren spun around.

Claire was nowhere to be seen.

Where had she gone?

The maids nodded at him and filed out of the room.

He locked the door behind them and went in search of her.

"I told you not to hide." He said, his voice low.

He treaded around the room quietly, like a predator stalking its prey.

The room was very large, but it didn’t stop him from hearing her coarse breathing.

He glanced at the bed as he moved. It was stained bright red at the center. The maids would imdiately know what happened when they’d co to clean the next morning.

And he’d just taken her virginity. What had he just done? It was selfish of him to keep her when he wasn’t going to marry her.

He peeled the bed linens off the bed and threw them into the burning hearth.

The flas licked up the fabric greedily, erasing the evidence of a selfishly-taken, passionate night.

He found her on the balcony, staring at the ground below her.

Yeren stopped a good distance away and watched her.

"Could you give

a few minutes? I have to... take care of sothing."

"Take care of what?" His voice ca out harsher than he intended.

She spun around, searching his face.

"I’m a ss." She looked down at her feet.

He followed her gaze.

White liquid laced with blood puddled around her feet.

His seed. It was perfectly normal, wasn’t it?

"Should I have a bath brought up for you?"

Claire shook her head before she spoke. "It’s very late and the maids deserve to rest. I would rather not bother them."

He nodded.

"I can help you clean yourself."

What in the world made him make such a suggestion?

She blinked, her eyes holding his.

"I don’t want to bother you either."

He closed the distance between them and picked her up in his arms. The knowledge that she was naked beneath the robe was...

Yeren set her down at the foot of the bed and went to the wash basin.

He picked up the wash cloth, dipped it into the cool water and squeezed it.

She just sat there, watching him with unreadable eyes. He desperately wanted to know what she was thinking.

The bright smile she had been wearing had vanished.

He wanted to kick himself in the shins at that mont. The whole atmosphere had been ruined.

"Why did you burn the sheets?" Her voice was cold.

The faint sll of smoke saturated the air.

"I didn’t want the maids to know. I was trying to protect your-"

"You were trying to erase the evidence. You couldn’t even wait until I was gone."

He parted his lips but no words ca out.

Thinning his lips, he knelt down in front of her.

He waited for her to send him away, or snatch the cloth away from him.

Instead, she unfastened the robe and spread her legs.

It felt like a chore no matter how aroused it made him. Sothing he’d intended to be intimate beca a cold affair.
