After leaving the Prison Tower, Adal made his way back to the library with Penelope and Olympia.

The entire ti, he could feel the snow elf’s nerves. The thought of what she would inevitably have to do lood over her head, but Adal did not care.

They arrived at the library to find Juliette sitting, reading a book. They had only a handful of visitors yet, and imagined things would stay that way until the chaos of the city cald down.

One of those visitors was Colette Banker. It seed that she truly felt safer in the library, and had no intentions of returning ho soon.

Adal was fine with this. It worked better for him to keep his won close, especially since they had awakened.

And besides, he actually had use for the woman.

After Penelope joined Juliette to discuss her awakening, Adal took Olympia to speak to Colette. The blonde-haired woman looked at the snow elf strangely, wondering what they needed from her.

"Colette, have you had a chance to test your skill yet?" Adal asked.

Colette shook her head.

"Good afternoon, Adal. No... I wouldn’t want to use the skill without you being there. I wouldn’t feel safe enough." She replied, which made Adal smile.

"Would you be happy to test them out now?"

anwhile, Olympia was looking between the two, wondering what skill was about to be tested on her.

Her heart beat rapidly.

"Of course!"

~~~
Adal directed Olympia to sit down opposite Colette across the table. The two won stared into each other’s eyes, both filled with nerves for different reasons.
There was silence in the room. Penelope and Juliette watched from the sidelines curiously.
"Whenever you’re ready," Adal said to Colette.
The Black Widow nodded her head. Then, she closed her eyes.
She stayed like that for a few seconds. When she opened her eyes again, they were no longer bright blue, but rather, a swirl of purple and black. Adal felt as though he could feel so sort of energy emitting from her body. It felt like this energy was trying to force its presence onto him, but it was not strong enough. Not even close.
However, for an unawakened woman such as Olympia Hightower, the strange ability would pierce right through her, detecting the truth behind words that she said.
"The truth-seeking eye," Adal said proudly, as Colette stared coldly into Olympia’s soul. "I am going to ask you a series of questions, and you will tell the truth behind them all. This is only being done so that I can make sure you don’t run away from the mission I have set you, and can create counterasures if you do, or try to betray us."
Olympia gulped.
"W-what will happen if I do not tell you the truth?" She stuttered. "Will you kill ?"
Adal’s won all looked at him, wondering what he would answer. They wondered, was the man that they loved capable of such a thing?
Adal smirked.
"Then I will give the information that you are about to tell to the sun elf assassins. You will be left in their hands. Compliance is your best chance at survival."
Olympia didn’t respond, but from the look on her face, it was clear that the threat had scared her enough.
So, Adal began questioning the woman.
He asked her a series of questions. Where she lived. Who were the family mbers here, and where did they live? Who ant the most to her? How she had arrived at Fairwhite City, and how she planned to return.
In total, he asked her twenty questions, and she answered truthfully to all of them, except for one. It was a question regarding the Prince’s secrets that only she would know.
Of course, after a threat, she quickly gave a truthful answer.
After this, Adal told Colette to drop her skill. The woman collapsed in her chair and fell unconscious, clearly drained from her overuse of mana.
I pushed her too hard...
"Penelope, Juliette, bring her up to my bed and place a wet towel over her head. I will be up there soon."
The two won nodded their heads and quickly helped Colette Banker upstairs.
Adal would make sure that he thanked the woman properly later on. But for now, he turned his attention back to Olympia.
After exposing so many secrets, the woman seed incredibly stressed. Her face was in her palms, and her eyes welled up with tears. She knew that in many ways, her life was ruined.
Adal stepped closer to her and eventually placed a hand on her shoulder. The woman was taken by surprise and looked up at him.
"W-why are you comforting ? Aren’t I your enemy? You have certainly treated like one."
Adal remained calm and smiled.
"You are, but things do not have to stay that way."
The snow elf raised her brow. "What do you an?"
"I an, that once this mission is done, you can return to . I will give you a life far greater than the one that you will live the Prince who doesn’t even love you—"
"He does love !" She retorted aggressively."
Adal could only look at her and sigh.
"If that is what you believe, then so be it. Let us see if you feel the sa way once he is king of the Icefall Kingdom."
Olympia looked at the librarian strangely. She did not understand the implication of his words, but Adal knew that soon, she would understand better than anyone else.
He reached into his trench coat pocket and handed her the explosive. If he had not previously questioned her, he would have felt sceptical about handing her such a dangerous weapon.
However, he had planned things in a way that would ensure that Olympia would not be a danger to him. She would lose so much, if she dared to oppose him.
"Run along now, and fulfil your duty. I hope to hear from you again at the end of the week."
With that, Olympia left the Library and returned ho.
