"Granny Cho, what brings you here? I did not know you were a reader?"
The short wrinkled woman who looked to be in her nineties slowly shuffled her way over to Adal’s desk.
Before speaking, she looked around, making sure that she would not be heard.
"The sun elves are here boy. In my store, they’re waiting for you." Her voice stuttered.
Adal froze for a few monts, completely taken off guard.
The sun elves. That shouldn’t be possible.
"How is that so? That ans that they would have to travel through the Outer Realm Gate."
"And that’s exactly what they did, boy. I was ready to get rid of them, but they sohow managed to open my intricately locked door. Scary fucks, they are. They demanded that I co and fetch you imdiately."
Based on the granny’s words, Adal could tell that they were most likely powerful.
He weighed the risks in his head imdiately. It was unlikely that they wished to kill him, especially in his own city, as they would risk being attacked by the king’s guard.
"Boy, we haven’t got all day. They are waiting. Who knows what they will do if we make them wait too long?"
Adal let out a sigh, before heading over to Juliette and telling him that he needed to go sowhere, and that he would be back.
The woman looked at him, sensing the worry on his face, but she did not ask questions. She trusted that Adal would be okay.
With that, Adal headed outside with Granny and found a chariot waiting for them. It took them to the store, which felt even more ominous than usual.
Adal thumbed his weapons in his pockets and prepared himself to use any skill in his arsenal.
After sleeping with Princess Opal a few days ago, he had access to her family mbers’ skills through the Family Friend skill. So far, he had been holding off, and decided that he would only use it when necessary. Now was that ti.

[Virtue Overlove]

[Elios Overlove]
Opal’s brother, Virtue, was a warrior. Her sister, Iris, was a Specialist. Her father, Elios, a mage. Adal was able to gather this, as the list of their skills unfolded in front of him like a script.
There were tens of skills belonging to each of them, and before entering the store, he settled on a skill owned by Iris.
It was called Underestimation, which granted you an increase in all physical and magical aspects, the more underestimated you were.
This would be helpful, as he was certain that at least one of the Sun Elves waiting for him would underestimate him. He was a re Human Librarian after all.
~~~
Inside the store, Adal found them waiting for him.
There were three figures, lounging around the counter of the magical store.
Two n, and one woman, each wearing clothing unfit for the cold weather of the Torn Kingdom.
Their skins were bronze and their ears pointed. The two n looked nearly identical, dressed in white robes that reminded Adal of what would have been worn by Romans back on earth.
However, it was the woman who caught his attention. She was petite. Much more petite than any of the won he had been with so far. Her bronze skin was glistening with sweat, highlighting the faint curves of her hips and small breasts. Two nipples poked through the white garnts that she wore, and her cute face and sandals were both bedazzled in jewels.
From the way they were standing, Adal could imdiately tell that for so reason, this petite woman was in charge. She was level 27, whilst the n were only 15. She wore a look of confidence on her face that suggested that it was impossible for Adal to frighten her, despite how much he towered over her smaller body.
She rose to her feet and looked up at him with golden eyes. Adal could see two curved daggers on her hips.
"So, you are the one who killed Musa Desertsword and saved our queen. How is this so, when you do not look like a fighter?" She spoke with an accent.
The other two n grunted in approval.
Adal placed his hands in his pockets and flashed her that warm smile that he flashed every woman.
"I am not a fighter, ma’am, just a librarian. But yes, I did kill Musa. I trust that you are not here to kill , considering I did your kingdom a favour?"
The sun elves looked at each other for a few seconds, and then they laughed.
"Kill you?" The petite bronze woman said. "If we wanted you dead, you would not have even been able to speak. No, human, we co bringing word from our King. He wants confirmation that things are still going as planned."
Ah, I see. My worrying was unnecessary. Though it is better to be safe than sorry.
After being underestimated by the sun elves, Adal felt his body being invigorated with power that it had never had before. However, he did not have any reason to use it.
He let out a sigh of relief. It was an act, to make himself seem weak.
"Yes, everything is going as planned. I assu that you will be amongst the assassins, Nimrodel Nevernight?"
As he spoke, the two n suddenly drew their weapons, preparing for a fight. It was only when the petite woman held out a hand to stop them, that they sheathed their weapons hesitantly.
"Do not stress, n. It’s not unnatural for a librarian to be well researched. I assu you have read of my na sowhere?"
Adal smiled at his little trick. He rembered doing the sa thing to Brave; telling him information about himself that he should not have known.
No, but I have read your entire system, as well as your sexual partner history. I would not have expected a woman like you to be a virgin. Perhaps it is because you see all n as too weak for you.
"Yes." Adal lied. "Being well read is one of my only strengths."
"Right..." Nimrodel said. "Well, you’re correct. I will be the one to claim the throats of your rulers. Make sure that you are not there to stand in my way. Co on, n."
And with that, the Sun Elves made their way back towards the basent, where the Outer Realm Gate would take them back ho.
