"You would be wise to let go of , boy." Richard threatened with animosity in his voice.

And yet, Adal didn’t loosen his grip.

"What will happen if I don’t?"

A laugh left the large man’s mouth.

"Your arm will break, and I will stomp your head into the cobblestone."

"..."

A few monts of silence passed before the man suddenly spun and swung a fist at Adal’s head.

Being the lighter man, Adal managed to step out of the way of the strike, using the stored-up lust mana he held in his body, converting it to use Mana Empowernt.

His body felt light as he danced backwards, and then stepped back in. At the sa ti, he drew his dagger and plunged it into the man’s neck.

Or at least, he thought.

The weapon bounced off Richard’s neck, as the man’s skin suddenly turned a shade of grey.

Adal felt his arm vibrating and almost dropped the dagger. He dashed away once again and stared down the man who had a smile on his face.

That must be his skill...

"No normal dagger is going to do any harm, kid. This is your last chance to surrender. If you do, I won’t kill you. I’ll just leave you paralysed, and have you answer to the royal family why you’re attacking one of their allies."

More confirmation that the royal family is friends with the Bankers, and knows about their wrongdoings.

"Steel Body IV, correct?" Adal asked his opponent.

Richard looked at him with a look of surprise. Colette has long since stepped out of range, so that she did not get involved in the combat, but she too seed surprised that her husband’s skill had been read.

"A neat party trick," Richard shrugged. "But knowing the na and level of my skill doesn’t do anything if you don’t have a way to combat it."

Adal nodded his head. "That is true. Luckily, I think I do have a way."

Suddenly, he tossed his dagger to the ground beside him and reached into the back of his pants to withdraw a new weapon.

This one was curved like those of the southern lands, and had a blade that glowed with natural blue mana, which made it feel lighter than it once was. However, once in his grasp, the mana turned red, as Adal coated the blade with fire mana instead, making it hot enough to burn through steel.

Luckily, Mana Coating was a skill that would not affect the steel of the blade, but could most certainly affect the steel body of his opponent. This was Adal’s only way to get through him.

Adal twirled the blade in his hand and almost dropped it. He still wasn’t proficient with weapons, despite practising every now and then in his free ti.

"I got this from Musa Desertsword. Do you know him?"

Richard raised a brow, confused. "Never heard of him."

"He was a criminal in the southern lands. A Sun Elf of the Glassborn Kingdom. I stole this sabre from him as I plunged my dagger into his neck."

Richard let out a bellowing laugh that might have woken up the street, if it wasn’t already half abandoned, except for Lady Cho’s store.

"Congratulations, you defeated a scrawny little elf. Let’s see you do the sa against a man like ."

"Yes, let’s see."

Adal and Richard both dashed towards each other. Richard swung a blow with his fists, and Adal blocked it with the sabre. The man’s steel fist sizzled, but only for a second. If he didn’t remain in contact with the fire blade long enough, he wouldn’t be able to burn through the steel.

Adal knew this, so he fought intending to pin the man down and push the sword against his weak point for a long enough ti to burn through.

Now and then, Richard threw heavy, fast blows amplified by his skills: Fists of Fury, and Crushing Blow. Adal used Mana Blast to thrust these strikes away.

The man was also proficient when it ca to defense as his skill Force Manipulation allowed him to redirect blows without having to do anything. This seed to have limits, as sotis Adal’s strikes went through. His sword slashed against steel skin, causing a tallic clang to sound through the streets, but it still wasn’t enough.

Both being level 12, they were almost equally matched. They both managed to avoid severe damage, yet put their opponents on the back foot enough to keep them pressured.

The tides only changed when Adal suddenly did sothing strange.

For the whole fight, he had only used Fire Mana around his blade. This made Richard believe that he was so sort of fire mage.

So when he eventually used Earth Mana to manipulate the stone beneath Richard, creating a crater that was just enough for the man to stick his foot into, and trip, he was not expecting it at all.

Richard fell face-first into Adal’s knee, which he drove into the man’s chin with force. The steel sent pain twinging through his leg, but at the sa ti, dazed his opponent and made him fall face-first on the pavent.

Wasting no ti, Adal flipped his blade and pressed it point down into Richard’s back, and pumped it with all the mana in his body. Fires burned the man’s clothes off, before eventually lting through the steel.

Once past the layer of tal, it found no problem sizzling through his flesh and eventually crunching bone.

Richard’s spine snapped beneath the weight and heat of the blade, and imdiately, the life left his body.

Adal was left standing over him, drained of his energy and mana more than he had ever been drained before.

He heaved in and out, trying to take in air, but it was not air that he needed at that mont. It was mana.

He felt his smartphone buzz in his pocket, notifying him that he had completed his quest, but that wouldn’t help him either.

If he did not inhale mana soon, he truly believed that he might die.

He looked around and spotted Colette. The blonde woman was standing a few ters away, staring at her husband’s corpse with a look of surprise and disbelief on her face.

Adal’s eyes drank in the curves of her body. Suddenly he knew where he could get so mana from.

"Co here," he said, dropping the bloody sabre. "I need you to let ravage you."
