Watching Lin Sanshui’s departing figure, Gu Nian finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Instinctively touching her elbow, she couldn’t help but feel fortunate in her heart that it wasn’t discovered.

Gu Nian didn’t fall asleep but instead let her consciousness delve into the secret space.

Inside the space, on the grassland, a large group of chicks were searching for food under the guidance of several hens, mixed with two young wild chickens, creating a peaceful scene.

Gu Nian’s consciousness continued exploring, and a little distance away, several small rabbits had grown into adult rabbits, and so had even given birth.

Gu Nian: "!!"

All these rabbits ca from the sa litter, so she wondered whether this would count as inbreeding.

Fortunately, she hadn’t noticed any deford or sick rabbits.

The gray rabbits still produced gray offspring, completely unlike the white rabbits she rembered.

Gu Nian didn’t know that while she was checking the space, Sanhu, sleeping next door, suddenly slapped his thigh, "Oh no!"

"What’s wrong?" Erhu, lying beside him, was startled.

"I picked up a few just-furred rabbit kits today and seed to have forgotten to bring them back from that stone!" Sanhu said regretfully.

He initially intended to bring them back for his little sister to play with, but after seeing a wild boar, he absentmindedly placed the rabbits on a rock and forgot them upon returning.

Erhu breathed a sigh of relief, covering his chest, "I thought sothing serious happened, just a few rabbits, let them go, they might not survive if brought back anyway."

They’re just recently furred, probably not even a month old yet.

Inside the space, everything thrived, and Gu Nian contentedly drifted into sleep.

Half-asleep, Gu Nian felt soone touch her arm, and she was startled awake.

Gu Nian opened her eyes, dazedly looking at Lin Sanshui like he was a thief, "Dad, what are you doing?"

Lin Sanshui didn’t expect his sneaky move to be caught, montarily stunned, a hint of embarrassnt flashed across his face, "Nothing... nothing, I just wanted to check if your injury has healed a bit, did I disturb you? Still sleepy?"

"Not sleepy anymore." Gu Nian shook her head, hiding her true feelings and said, "Dad, my injury is really almost healed, it doesn’t hurt at all. If it did, I’d definitely tell you."

Seeing Gu Nian was determined not to let him see, Lin Sanshui tugged at the corner of his mouth, "Alright then, it’s getting late, hurry and sleep, I won’t check."

Gu Nian also breathed a sigh of relief.

She really didn’t expect Lin Sanshui would sneak in at night to secretly check her injury.

Fortunately, she woke up in ti, or else she would have been exposed!

Lin Sanshui also couldn’t understand.

He just wanted to see how Gu Nian’s injury was, why did it feel like the child was especially afraid of being seen?

Thus, a night passed quietly.

As dawn broke, Gu Nian got up, walked out of the room, and imdiately saw rows of sausages hanging under the eaves.

Coincidentally, Mrs. Jiang also ca out, asking her, "Niannian, are these sausages just hung here like this? For how long? With this hot weather, they shouldn’t catch worms, right?"

Gu Nian shook her head and said, "They won’t catch worms. Later, we’ll smoke them, then hang inside to dry, it should take about half a month."

They’re indeed prone to worms if made carelessly in the sumr, but the living room is designed to be warm in winter and cool in sumr, with large trees planted inside and outside the courtyard, making it breezy and not too hot.

As they were talking, there was a sudden knock on the door.
