Chapter 21: Chapter 21 Saving People_1 Chapter 21: Chapter 21 Saving People_1 Shopkeeper Lin followed swiftly into the room, “That man’s brother and servant are adamant it was the Drunken Immortal Tavern that poisoned him. If we let them continue causing trouble, the tavern will suffer great losses, and its century-old reputation will be ruined overnight! Please, Doctor Luo, would you take a look?”

Doctor Luo remained unmoved.

Yang ngchen sat quietly beside with a placid expression.

She keenly sensed that Uncle Luo had a feud with that young master. To be exact, it should be that the young master had once hard Uncle Luo, which was why he refused to go, having initially been willing to treat the patient after hearing Shopkeeper Lin’s words.

“The man is on his last breath. Saving a life is more ritorious than building a seven-storied pagoda. I implore Doctor Luo to save the man!” Shopkeeper Lin persisted. “Doctor Luo and our master have been family friends for generations. If not for the monk, then for the Buddha, please go and treat the man, I’m begging you!”

Doctor Luo still sat firmly in place, unmoving.

Nobody except Yang ngchen noticed his brows furrowing ever so slightly, a sly smile crossing the depths of her eyes.

Hearing that the man’s life was in danger, the innately kind Yang Chengrong and his brothers imdiately turned their eyes towards Doctor Luo.

Seeing Doctor Luo still indifferent, Shopkeeper Lin beca so anxious that sweat beaded on his forehead. Suddenly rembering what the young master had said before coming, he deliberately spoke up, “Doctor Luo, the man has a purplish complexion, is struggling to breathe, and is vomiting sothing that looks like swill mixed with fresh blood. What poison do you think the man has ingested?”

Seeing a flicker of interest in Doctor Luo’s eyes, Yang ngchen could not help but smirk silently.

That young master was really clever, knowing that Uncle Luo was obsessed with dicine and particularly interested in challenging dical cases. She could also tell that Uncle Luo genuinely cared about that young master but was temporarily unable to let go of his grudges.

In her heart, she already had a preliminary diagnosis but still needed to verify it personally.

“Uncle Luo, I would like to see what poison the man has ingested. Can you take with you?”

Yang ngchen looked on with curiosity, yet Doctor Luo clearly caught the gleam in her eyes, understanding that the young girl was offering him a way to step down. Touched and grateful, he turned and glared at Shopkeeper Lin before gruffly saying, “For the little girl’s sake, I’ll go! Now hurry along!”

Shopkeeper Lin secretly breathed a sigh of relief, “Doctor Luo, miss, please!” He gave Yang ngchen a deep look.

With her crescent-shaped eyebrows and clear, bright eyes beneath, her petite face featured a sweet smile. Neat and refreshing in appearance, she was instantly likable, no wonder Doctor Luo was so fond of her.

Naturally, the Yang Chengrong brothers did not leave their sister’s side for a mont.

It took about a quarter of an hour to reach the Drunken Immortal Tavern from Apricot Forest Hall, the biggest tavern in town. From afar, they could see a crowd gathered outside, drawn by the commotion.

As they entered the tavern, Shopkeeper Lin quietly instructed a waiter to inform the young master.

It wasn’t alti yet, but the tavern was already filled with diners, and the staff were maintaining order thodically.

In the main hall.

A middle-aged man, accompanied by his servants, was causing a row, insisting that the Drunken Immortal Tavern had poisoned his elder brother and demanded to hold the tavern responsible.

By the side of the dining table laid the elder brother ntioned by the middle-aged man, his face and lips turning purplish, his nose slightly swollen and red, having difficulty breathing yet still retaining a sliver of consciousness. On the floor by his feet was a puddle of vomit mixed with a small amount of fresh blood, resembling swill.

On the table were several unfinished dishes, including one with eel, another with plum at, and a large plate of tangerines with only two left.

Yang ngchen had already confird the man’s condition but still followed Doctor Luo quietly to the man’s side.

“Ninth Sister?” A young attendant approached Yang ngchen with surprise and delight, “What brings you here?”

About eighteen or nineteen years old, with thick arched eyebrows and dark, bright eyes, he wore a warm, shallow smile on his lips. His light blue uniform made him look even more handso and amiable.

The face before her overlapped with the one in her mory, and Yang ngchen smiled and said, “Brother Siyuan, let’s talk later.”

Chen Siyuan nodded and then greeted Doctor Luo and the three Yang Chengrong brothers, but unfortunately, Doctor Luo only had eyes for the patient and did not hear Chen Siyuan’s greeting, while the Yang Chengrong brothers responded with smiles.

The middle-aged man said out loud in questioning, “Who are you people? What do you want to do to my elder brother?”

A few servants also gathered around, eyeing Doctor Luo and his companions with hostility.

Doctor Luo was focused on examining the man’s symptoms and taking his pulse, paying no attention to answering the middle-aged man.

Yang ngchen warned, “If you want to save your elder brother, stay put. If you continue to bother Uncle Luo, you’ll be the one to bear the consequences!”

“Can he really save my elder brother?” The middle-aged man looked full of hope but also skeptical, as the previous doctors had all said there was no hope.

“Of course,” Yang ngchen said proudly. “My Uncle is a doctor at the Apricot Forest Hall, with exceptional dical skills. He will surely cure your elder brother. If you don’t believe , you can ask anyone here.”

Everyone naturally echoed in agreent.

The other doctors had been full of indignation; they had confird there was no hope after diagnosing the pulse, yet the middle-aged man had forcefully stopped them, insisting they go to the County Office to bear witness. Now, however, they willingly stayed, eager to see how Doctor Luo would treat the man, as his dical skill was indeed superior to theirs.

Seeing everyone and the few doctors comnd Doctor Luo’s dical skill, the middle-aged man felt relieved.

After a while, Doctor Luo was about to shake his head after finishing the pulse diagnosis, when he suddenly felt a gentle tug on his sleeve. A small hand grabbed his, writing a few words in the palm of his hand. Seeing the smiling eyes of Yang ngchen by his side, although puzzled, he promptly had soone bring several large bowls of salt water.

Doctor Luo gestured for the man to drink the several large bowls of salt water. The man vomited a lot, continued to drink, continued to vomit, until he was only bringing up clear water. Only then did Doctor Luo tell him to stop and helped the man lean against the back of the chair. Taking out silver needles, he inserted them into several acupoints according to what Yang ngchen had whispered in his ear.

About half a cup of tea’s ti later, the man’s facial complexion and the cyanosis of his lips had disappeared, his breathing beca calm and steady, and his consciousness had fully returned.

“Thank you, Doctor Luo, for saving my life!” the man said to Doctor Luo with tears of gratitude.

Doctor Luo waved his hand; it wasn’t his doing, and he was also feeling incredibly shocked inside.

“Big Brother, you are all right now, this is so wonderful!” The middle-aged man looked at his elder brother and wept and laughed like a child.

A few servants wept with joy.

It had seed hopeless, but after Doctor Luo administered several large bowls of salt water and needled a few acupoints, the man’s poisoning was cured. How miraculous was that? The other doctors couldn’t help admiring Doctor Luo’s superior dical skill.

The onlookers discussed animatedly, praising Doctor Luo as a Divine Doctor.

Suddenly, the middle-aged man turned aggressively towards Shopkeeper Lin, “Shopkeeper Lin, although my elder brother’s poisoning has been resolved, he has suffered greatly. Drunken Immortal Tavern should give compensation!”

“It’s true that he was poisoned, but it has nothing to do with Drunken Immortal Tavern!”
