Chapter 91: Chapter 26: Crying Blood Sun

After finding the Evil Spirit Divine Mage’s Respawn Point, Zorn didn’t stop there.

Ordinarily, the Evil Spirit Divine Mage should have only had one chance to resurrect.

But in so versions, the Evil Spirit Divine Mage could use the power of the Sun King’s Golden Skeleton within the Church to gain another, extrely weakened, chance at Resurrection.

Zorn, naturally, would not let this possibility slip by.

The Evil Spirit Divine Mage was a key figure in the upcoming "Evil Spirit Overture" of Ogrande City.

He absolutely could not allow it any chance to escape.

After a thorough investigation, Zorn found no clues or traces of the Evil Spirit Divine Mage’s second Resurrection.

’No second chance at Resurrection?’

Zorn mused.

’Hmm! To be safe, I should probably use so Calamity Black Mist to conduct a scan with it!’

As he thought, Zorn’s hidden will in the Calamity Origin Land silently mobilized the Calamity Black Mist.

A large amount of Calamity Black Mist surged into the Mirror Image Cabin.

Then, the Black Mist rapidly began to burn.

Everything around him grew increasingly clear.

The Calamity Black Mist was imnsely useful.

Take Resurrection, for example.

By consuming Calamity Black Mist, an Evil Spirit Boss could avoid the cost of Spiritual loss during Resurrection and remove its weakened state, thus achieving a perfect "full health and mana resurrection."

What’s that?

You haven’t managed to harness the Black Mist?

Then you can just wait for Death in your weakened state!

As a portion of the Black Mist finished burning away, the trail of the Resurrection vein Zorn had discovered beca as thick as a finger under the coalescing Black Mist.

And in a corner, another trail of coalescing Calamity Black Mist, as thin as a thread of wool, also appeared.

’That cunning Evil Spirit Divine Mage really did have a second Resurrection.’

’It’s a very weak one, but if I hadn’t found it, the Evil Spirit Divine Mage would have just slipped away. Catching it then would be extrely difficult.’

After using the Ringed Snake’s Eye again to locate this other hidden "Ritual Respawn Point," Zorn silently withdrew from the Mirror World.

CRACKLE...

As the mottled Mirror World flaked away around him, Zorn returned to the small private room in the Moonflow Sand Tavern.

Gently rubbing his palms together, Zorn ticulously went over his plan.

Since the Evil Spirit Divine Mage had two Resurrections and the two locations were far apart, his previous plan needed to be adjusted.

A mont later, Zorn looked at Alvin, the Doomsday Shadow Stab, and slowly asked, "Have the n you sent to tail those Sun Secret Cult mbers found any Transcendents?"

"Reporting to the ssenger, yes, we have. I also had my n quietly figure out the area the guy usually frequents."

"Every two or three nights, he goes to the Fire Lady Tavern at the docks to see those ocean girls from the Abner Islands!"

Hearing this, Zorn chuckled softly.

The Fire Lady Tavern was a very famous tavern in the Bay Area, known for its bar girls.

The girls from the sea were not only beautiful and passionate as fire, but also very open.

They were very popular with the n of Ogrande City.

...

When night fell, the taverns in the Bay Area ca alive.

After three intense rounds with a hot, short-haired ocean girl, Graham erged into the back alley of the Fire Lady Tavern, carrying a bottle of highland whiskey.

For Graham, a Barbarian Blood Warrior who had already reached Level 2, he possessed astonishing stamina and endurance.

There were few places in Ogrande City where he could vent his abundant energy and strength.

However, the tavern girls were one of the rare outlets that let him experience the feeling of a Warrior’s charge.

He had been reining himself in a bit recently.

A while ago, the Priest had inford them.

They had a plan in the works.

Although he didn’t know the details, once it was complete, they would be able to formally step onto the stage of Ogrande City.

He could don his Battle Armor and beco an open and proud mber of the Sun Church’s Knight Order.

He would bask in the adoring gazes of the masses and receive the worship of the Sun’s Believers.

Instead of having to act sneakily like he did now.

A few sparse figures moved through the dark little alley.

As he neared his own residence, Graham, taking another swig of highland whiskey, brushed past a short passerby.

’A little guy like that, I could take him out with one punch.’

As a Level 2 Barbarian Blood Warrior, Graham had that kind of confidence.

In the instant they passed each other...

SWISH!

...the sharp whistle of a blade suddenly rang out by his ear, impossibly fast.

For a mont, the Barbarian Blood Warrior felt as if he were back fighting on the highlands, in a scene where the terrifying Arrows of the Gray-eyed Elves rained down.

"ROAR!"

As his furious roar exploded, Barbaric Blood Boiling instantly engulfed his entire body in blood-flas.

’Next, I’m going to tear this bastard apart!’

Just as the battle-ready Graham, having crushed the whiskey bottle, raised his fist...

THUD!

The back of Alvin’s short blade struck the nape of his neck.

The Barbarian Blood Warrior staggered a few steps forward and then, as if drunk, crashed face-first onto the ground.

As a Boss Sequence, and a Level 3 one at that, it was a guaranteed victory for Alvin against this Level 2 Warrior, especially with a Surprise Attack from the start.

If the ssenger hadn’t forbidden him from harming the target, the Barbarian Blood Warrior’s head would have flown off in that first encounter.

Alvin dragged the unconscious Barbarian Blood Warrior into a hidden part of the alley.

Zorn was already waiting there.

’Having a Boss-level subordinate is so convenient.’

’And Alvin really lives up to his Boss Sequence status; he’s got the skills and the power. That Powerful Blade Battle technique was executed perfectly. Just the right amount of force to knock him out without causing brain damage!’

Facing the powerless Graham, Zorn imdiately began reshaping his Sequence Spirituality, perfectly enslaving him as a devout Believer of the Holy Witch Dominator.

Then, with a light touch, Zorn awoke the slumbering soul.

Zorn could even extract the Wandering Souls of the dead for interrogation.

Awakening a slumbering Sequence soul was laughably simple in comparison.

Understanding tacitly, Alvin moved to the alley entrance to stand guard and prevent any interruptions.

Gazing at the devout yet terrified soul that slowly drifted out, Zorn asked slowly, "What is your current position in the Sun Secret Cult, and what are your specific duties?"

"Reporting to the great ssenger, I serve as an Assistant Priest in the Sun Secret Cult. I am mainly responsible for preparing materials for rituals."

For a Level 2, he could only be an Assistant Priest.

Only a very talented Transcendent who had reached Level 3 could beco a Reserve Priest.

"Then do you know the specific locations of the Sun Secret Cult’s current strongholds in Ogrande City?"

"Reporting to the ssenger, I only know that the Level 4 Holy Light Priest, Father Barren, leads the dozen or so of us Assistant Priests in this area."

’A Level 4 Holy Light Priest, plus a dozen or so Assistant Priests. This is just a small gathering point.’

After learning the details of this stronghold, Zorn rubbed his temples slightly.

"Then..."

Zorn looked at the soul before him and spoke slowly.

"Do you know of any other Sun Secret Cult strongholds, or any similar clues?"

The drifting soul thought for a mont, then shook its head.

"I don’t know of any other Church strongholds."

"However, just a few days ago, the Holy Light Priest, Father Barren, gathered all the Assistant Priests and told us that the Church is about to launch a plan."

"Once this plan is complete... we’ll be able to formally step onto the stage of Ogrande City."

"We might even be able to drive the Sun Church out of Ogrande City, and even out of the Autanston Republic."

Hearing this, Zorn’s eyes lit up.

"Are you sure that the Holy Light Priest, Father Barren, said that?"

"Yes!"

The drifting soul nodded gravely.

"And at the ti, Father Barren’s expression was extrely excited and fanatical. Afterward, we all praised the great Sun until late into the night!"

"How does Father Barren travel?"

"By carriage!"

"Does his coachman live with him?"

"The coachman has his own place, not far from our stronghold. He’s not a Transcendent, but he is a true Believer in the great Sun!"

"Oh?"

Zorn raised an eyebrow and chuckled softly.

"I like true Believers!"

"So Father Barren trusts him completely."

"Yes!"

"Excellent!"

Zorn nodded slightly.

Through continuous questioning, Zorn pieced together the personnel and organizational structure of this hidden Sun Secret Cult cell.

It was still a standard "charisma"-based leadership model.

This ant that the Priest nad Balun would regularly et with other Priests in power.

If that was the case, the coachman was very important.

Zorn could absolutely use the coachman to find the eting places where Father Barren gathered with other Priests, Vice Bishops, and Bishops.

And this would be a crucial key for the upcoming joint strike against the Sun Secret Cult by Ogrande City and the Church’s forces.

If Zorn’s guess was correct, Father Barren’s coachman must have been ritually baptized by him for years.

That was how he was molded into such a devout Believer.

And that was precisely why Father Barren trusted the ordinary coachman so much.

He was his own puppet; how could he not trust him?

But too bad for him!

This ti, Zorn was going to let Father Barren experience sothing.

The feeling of being betrayed by his own puppet!

As for the grand plan described by the Barbarian Blood Warrior, Graham, Zorn was of course crystal clear on it, even intimately familiar with it.

In multiple versions, he had experienced that slowly rising, blood-colored sun.

He had even seen the sight of the Holy Fierce Sun’s Believers bathing in that bloody sunlight, only to burn to ashes.

And this was the ritual prelude that Zorn had to stifle, or at least weaken, as much as possible at this stage.

This was a unique ritual belonging to the Sun Church.

In the poetic stanzas of Ogrande City’s history, it would carve an eternal and indelible Sacred Mark.

It would also contribute the most shocking, most destructive, and most impactful famous scene of the entire Chapter.

Furthermore, this key Chapter would officially set in motion the vast tapestry of the war of Faith in Ogrande City, and even the Autanston Republic.

This Chapter was none other than the one personally ignited by the World-level great Boss, the Evil Spirit Wizard—the Crying Blood Sun!
