Chapter 136: Chapter 53: The Shadow Blood Race Attacks

Even the simplest Forbidden Blood of an Upper Ranker concealed nurous powerful Forbidden Curses and Secret Skills.

It was easy to imagine just how terrifying the power of the Upper Rankers was.

Back then, all sorts of disasters had erupted one after another!

Only those who had experienced that cruel era of Upper Ranker turmoil and survived could barely be considered "veteran players."

’But that’s a long way off!’

At this stage, Zorn’s main focus was to develop and grow stronger.

If he could easily resolve those terrifying disasters, Zorn would naturally contribute so of his power. A longer period of peace ant a longer period of stable developnt for him.

An intact Ogrande City would make it easier to forge an even more powerful Calamity Sacred Mark.

But if they couldn’t be resolved, and the catastrophe and corruption expanded to form a permanent Catastrophe Zone...

He...

...would only be one of its beneficiaries.

He could use rituals to leverage the catastrophe, establish an anchor point, and turn the disaster into capital for his own growth.

...

The steam car traversed the entirety of Ogrande City, entering the Mist Suburbs to the north.

They drove to a Stone Castle at the foot of a mountain, as far as the car could go.

The group then passed through a Far Traveler’s Gate constructed by the Blood Shadow Rose, arriving in a hidden underground space.

As soon as he entered the silent, brightly-lit underground space,

Zorn slled the familiar scent of ancient Ti Stone ore.

He even saw so Ti Stone ore powder in a corner.

Ancient Ti Stone Mines are a key resource that must be acquired when pioneering a Divine Kingdom Passage.

It is an extrely rare and precious type of ancient ore.

The only issue was that the quantity in any one place was never large. However, as a Divine Kingdom Passage was excavated, more Ancient Ti Stone Mines would continuously appear.

This is what incentivized Pioneers to continuously invest resources in excavating the Divine Kingdom Passage.

Looking around, he saw a vast underground space with arched corridors stretching out in the four cardinal directions.

They disappeared into the darkness far in the distance.

Steam-powered wall lamps on either side cast a bright glow.

This place... was already the entrance to the Underground Divine Kingdom.

Back when he was a Player, Zorn had participated in quite a few raids to besiege the Evil Spirit Wizard, Zorn Corick.

He had even fard many quests and harvested a lot of resources inside.

For Players to participate in the war to besiege the Evil Spirit Wizard in the first Chapter, they needed to be at least Level 4 or Level 5.

To beco part of the main force, one needed to be at least Level Six.

At this mont, Zorn had already used the Witch’s Mask to change his appearance.

His Fighting Master Sequence was also hidden, replaced by a Sequence that exuded a strange, evil aura.

Besides Zorn and his group, there were also over twenty mbers of the Blood Shadow Rose organization.

Zorn even faintly sensed the aura of a Middle Rank Level powerhouse.

Originally, Ogrande City wasn’t a primary area of operations for the Blood Shadow Rose.

But the discovery here had made the Blood Shadow Rose adjust its strategy.

Now, the Blood Shadow Rose’s main focus was this ancient, hidden Divine Kingdom.

It was precisely because they held such an important resource that the Blood Shadow Rose was qualified to cooperate with the Sun Church.

His gaze swept over the many mbers of the Blood Shadow Rose.

Zorn didn’t see Joliya.

But that was to be expected.

Now that Joliya was the Saintess of the Blood Shadow Rose, she naturally wouldn’t show herself so easily in front of others.

As the Blood Shadow Rose’s ritualists worked, a Far Traveler Passage appeared before everyone. It was one ter wide and two ters tall, and inside the gate swirled a vortex of black and gray mist.

"Everyone, this Far Traveler Passage leads directly to the Border Region of the Shadow Castle."

Just then, a cold voice rang out.

"We’ve spoken of the dangers within before. Please be careful."

As the female voice faded,

the leader of the group—a tall and burly Knight, fully ard in Bronze Armor—stepped into the passage and vanished.

Seeing this, the others followed one after another.

Once almost everyone else was inside, Zorn also stepped into the vortex and disappeared.

...

In the depths of the extre dark.

Dim, sparse patches of light and shadow were scattered throughout the ancient jungle.

The Shadowlands were not complete darkness.

It was an interplay of light and dark, and a powerful Shadow Creature could be lurking in the depths of any shadow.

Those powerful creatures that moved freely through the shadows could also easily sneak up from behind to launch a Surprise Attack.

Especially in an ancient jungle like this, with its dappled light and shadow.

It was simply too perfect for those Shadow Creatures to operate in.

Zorn gazed up at the sky.

He could faintly see a bit of hazy light filtering through the thick, dense canopy of leaves, falling upon the ground covered in dead branches and fallen leaves.

The air was filled with the damp, oppressive feeling of a prival jungle.

He didn’t see any of the others who had entered in the surrounding shadow jungle.

Zorn used Thousand Streams·Gale Step, taking a small step.

RUSTLE...

The sound of dead branches and fallen leaves being crushed underfoot wasn’t loud, but in this silent, dark place, it was exceptionally clear.

’It’s a sha this Thousand Streams·Gale Step is only Level 1. If it were Level 3, I could walk on dead branches and leaves without a sound or trace, just like an Assassin.’

But Zorn wasn’t too worried.

After all, his main purpose for coming here was to kill those Shadow Creatures.

Making a sound to lure out the Shadow Blood Race and then killing them was the primary objective.

Zorn had an agreent with Lady Sun.

Zorn needed to kill ten Level 4 mbers of the Shadow Blood Race to obtain the Sun King’s Golden Skeleton.

If he killed a great many, there would be an additional reward.

After all, this ti it was the Blood Shadow Rose who had invited people to deal with their trouble.

They would definitely have to offer up so resources.

As he moved forward, Zorn tried to get his bearings.

The Shadow Castle, located in the deepest part of the prival jungle, was Zorn’s target.

However, this prival shadow jungle was quite disorienting.

If one couldn’t effectively determine their direction, they would likely get lost.

They might not even be able to find the way back.

For Zorn, however, this wasn’t a problem.

He silently cast his exclusive Forbidden Curse: Upper Rank: Ringed Snake’s Eye.

A flash of silver flickered in the depths of Zorn’s eyes.

The already clear, dark jungle now beca even more distinct in Zorn’s vision.

Even the corners of shadow that were previously difficult to see were now perfectly revealed.

After getting his bearings, Zorn moved swiftly through the forest.

As he was moving forward, Zorn’s gaze suddenly shot toward the depths of the jungle.

He saw two strange, small shadows, clearly imbued with the power of a Sequence, shuttling silently and rapidly through the jungle’s depths.

With normal vision, in this shadowy land, it would be almost impossible to spot the Shadow Bats as they flitted through the dense woods.

But Zorn’s exclusive Forbidden Curse, Upper Rank: Ringed Snake’s Eye, had an extrely strong Insight into Sequences.

Naturally, he could easily pick up on those hidden traces.

Silently activating the Invisibility Cloak he wore, Zorn’s figure vanished on the spot.

The two Shadow Bats quickly landed on a nearby tree trunk, then transford from their bat forms into the human-like forms of the Blood Race.

A man and a woman.

The male of the Blood Race was Sequence Level 4.

The female was Level 3.

"Huh? That person was just here. How did he disappear?"

The Blood Race mber was speaking the language of the Blood Race.

At this stage, very few Transcendents could understand the Blood Race’s language, but Zorn was one of them.

Suddenly,

a figure leaped out from behind a large tree and fled rapidly into the distance.

"There he is! After him!"

The mont the figure appeared, the male of the Blood Race locked onto him, a bloodthirsty sneer appearing on his pale face.

The two of them imdiately transford into Shadow Bats and chased after the fleeing figure.

Just as the two were giving chase,

WHOOOOSH...

a howling gale, like a wail from the depths of Purgatory, suddenly surged forth.

In that instant, both mbers of the Blood Race whipped their heads around.

"Not good!"

In a flash, a look of horror filled their wide eyes.
