Chapter 119: Chapter 43: The Reconstruction Faction’s Visit

SWIRL...

The gray mist flowed and converged before Zorn.

Deep within the hazy gray mist, a figure stood before a small Ritual Platform.

He whispered to the great Lord of Holy Witch.

Every word reached Zorn’s ears.

As the Calamity Black Mist grew ever stronger,

Zorn could communicate more clearly with his subordinates, and could pass on missions and information in a tily manner.

"Great Master!"

Alvin, the Shadow’s End Stab, whispered from his position before the Ritual Platform.

"The investigation you tasked

with in the western valley a few days ago has yielded results!"

"That place is called Bo’Er Town. It was abandoned long ago during an invasion of the Confused."

"A large number of the Confused are still trapped inside the houses."

"The sturdy doors and windows that once protected them from the Confused have now beco their prison!"

"Bo’Er Town is currently occupied by the Holy Fierce Sun Church. This territory should have originally belonged to the Sun Church."

"This ti, the Church dispatched mbers of its Knight Order to garrison the town. I’d estimate there are forty to fifty of them. Besides them, there are also a number of Priests, Assistant Priests, and other personnel, totaling around a hundred people."

"During my observation period, I’ve seen carriages coming and going from the valley town every day."

"They intend to be stationed there long-term. They’ve even... transported a lot of materials over."

"It seems... they’re preparing for so kind of ritual."

"..."

Before the Ritual Platform, Alvin laid out everything he had observed and summarized.

A long while later, Alvin finally concluded his ritual of prayer to Zorn.

Zorn waved his hand, and the Black Mist before him dissipated.

He rose and walked to the window. As he gazed out at Geluo Long Street, covered in the withered yellow leaves of early autumn, his thoughts began to race.

’Sending so many from the Knight Order, and Priests as well. Obviously, the Church has already discovered the treasure in that valley town.’

’Judging by the constant stream of supplies they’re bringing into town, they clearly intend to use a ritual to break open the Sealing Gate. But that’s a futile endeavor.’

’That thod might work on an ordinary Sealed Land, but it’s completely inadequate for the one sealed by the Sun King’s Golden Scepter.’

’Back in the ancient era, the Sun King was a being who dared to challenge Divine Spirits.’

’And another thing... that town is full of the Confused!’

Lost in thought, Zorn gently rubbed his palms together.

’Perhaps... this would be the perfect place to unleash an Evil Spirit Calamity ritual.’

’All those Confused, mired in death and corruption, would make for excellent offerings.’

Currently, Zorn was trying to achieve a breakthrough as a Fighting Master, and he had already begun to figure out the path.

With a bit more ti, he could achieve a breakthrough without the aid of the Evil Spirit Calamity.

However, using the Evil Spirit Calamity ritual to forge an immortal Calamity Sacred Mark was sothing he absolutely had to do.

Whether it was for the subsequent construction of his Spiritual Realm,

the breakthrough for powerful Forbidden Curses,

or the nurturing of his Ancient God Curse,

all of it was inseparable from the Sacred Marks he had carved.

Moreover, for an Evil Spirit Wizard, the prerequisite for advancing to the Middle Rank Level was to possess at least five powerful Immortal Calamity Sacred Marks.

Although using the Sun King’s Golden Skeleton could reduce his reliance on Immortal Calamity Sacred Marks, Zorn’s current number of Immortal Sacred Marks was still far from sufficient.

’I need to reach Level 4 first, and I need to do it as a Fighting Master.’

’That’s the only way to lessen that old fox Albert Wild’s suspicion of .’

’At the very least, that Middle Rank Evil Spirit he stations there won’t be sniffing at

so aggressively every ti I go over.’

Although Marquis Albert Wilde showed Zorn great favor, Zorn would be deluding himself if he truly believed the marquis considered him one of his own.

’One of his own?’

’Sotis, the ones who betray you are the very people closest to you!’

Just as he was about to close the window and head to Split Mist Town to continue his missions,

a noblewoman’s carriage, with purple curtains and a hanging lantern decorated with purple and gold flowers, pulled up outside the manor.

A lady in a pale purple court gown stepped out.

When he got a clear look at her, Zorn’s brow furrowed for an instant, then relaxed.

He slapped his forehead, smiling with a hint of chagrin.

"Damn it! I should have seen this coming."

...

The room was furnished with a spacious, brand-new, off-white sofa, recently brought in for autumn.

Vanessa brought over a tray of coffee and set it on the matte marble tabletop.

The rich aroma of the freshly brewed coffee filled the air. It had been roasted, ground, and stored just a few days ago.

"These are all raw materials procured from the plantations on Abner Island."

"I was originally planning to purchase an island myself, to start my own Ocean Plantation."

"But my old butler is always reminding

that the Coric Clan seems to have a curse related to the sea. So, while I’m full of longing for the ocean, I must remain wary of this potential curse."

At that mont, Lady Gaido Isaiah, the elegant and dignified Holy Poem Ranger, sat opposite Zorn. A faint smile lingered on her face, and she proved to be an excellent listener.

She was, after all, the day’s visitor.
