Chapter 102: Chapter 34: Enslaving the Evil Spirit Divine Mage

When Zorn arrived at North Ring Street in the Fog Zone, the clouds in the sky seed to have been set ablaze.

The entirety of Ogrande City was bathed in blood-red, fiery clouds.

The setting Sun itself resembled a blazing star engulfed in flas of blood.

In the crimson light, the city’s shadows stretched long and somber.

In a daze, Zorn vaguely saw a hint of the Crying Blood Sun’s silhouette.

But it wasn’t rising; it was setting.

At least for today, this ti, the Crying Blood Sun had no part to play in Ogrande City’s saga.

The Demon Apostle, Mr. Borne, and Lady Gaido were at the entrance to the police station, laughing and chatting while watching the blood-red Sun.

Zorn faintly overheard what sounded like a bawdy tavern joke, one that sent Lady Gaido into fits of laughter.

"Good afternoon, Mr. Zorn!"

Seeing Zorn arrive, Mr. Borne and Lady Gaido composed themselves, offering him a slight bow in greeting.

The relationships between Transcendents are complex.

But at other tis, they are quite simple.

Whoever is the strongest earns the most respect.

Today, Zorn Corick, the Level Three Fighting Master, had displayed a strength that earned their admiration.

Back in the carriage, they hadn’t quite believed Director Caroline when she’d told Zorn she hoped he would use his full power.

But now, it was clear that Director Caroline had been remarkably prescient.

"Good afternoon,"

Zorn replied, tipping his hat slightly.

Zorn watched the officers bustling in and out of the station, hesitating on whether to go inside.

Just then, the Demon Apostle, Mr. Borne, spoke up.

"Director Caroline is extrely busy at the mont. I doubt we’ll be seeing much of her for a while."

"I went in earlier, and Director Caroline told

to let you both know that she will invite us again to express her gratitude when she has the ti."

"Thank you."

Zorn nodded.

He then looked out at the hazy, fog-shrouded street, his brow furrowing slightly.

Hailing a carriage in the Fog Zone at dusk was notoriously difficult.

Usually, a carriage from the station would take him ho.

But today, everyone at the station was too busy to spare anyone.

"Need a ride?"

Mr. Borne asked with a smile just as Zorn was wondering how to get ho.

"Right, let

reintroduce myself."

"I work part-ti as a cabby in Ogrande City. My carriage is parked just across the street."

Zorn was slightly taken aback by this.

"I didn’t realize you had such a lucrative side hustle, Mr. Borne!"

"Heh heh... A man’s got to make a living!"

"Oh, and I occasionally moonlight as a private investigator. My specialty is gathering evidence on cheating noblen and their unfaithful wives."

"Fair prices, honest work."

’The Demon Apostle, Mr. Borne, certainly has a colorful resu,’ Zorn mused.

He and Lady Gaido got into Mr. Borne’s carriage. They dropped Lady Gaido Isaiah off first.

By the ti Zorn reached Geluo Long Street, the sky had completely darkened.

In the distance, Zorn saw Doomsday Shadow Stab Alvin and the young Rat Catcher, Isaac, laughing and talking beside a lamppost.

Zorn could tell the outco just from their relaxed expressions.

After bidding farewell to Mr. Borne, Zorn invited Alvin and Isaac into the manor.

Dinner was already prepared.

As they ate, the two recounted the arduous and dangerous battle from that afternoon.

"When that guy appeared, his body was as gaunt as an Undead Skeleton."

"I honestly thought he couldn’t even stand properly."

"At first, he was completely stunned to see us there."

"But that quickly turned to fury. He wanted to berate us, but his withered, feeble state wouldn’t let him."

"Isaac drew his attention from the front, while I launched a fierce surprise attack from behind."

"My blade pierced his heart—if he even had one left."

"I didn’t pull my dagger out. It’s a greedy Blood Blade that constantly drains an enemy’s Life Force, so leaving it in him was the best choice."

"Isaac also hit the terrifying bastard with his strongest move."

"Forgive my crude language in describing him."

"But that’s just how it was."

Isaac, who was beside him, nodded repeatedly and added his part.

"The guy who looked like a skeleton was terrifying, for sure."

"The two of us had to team up and give it our all. We fought for over ten minutes before we finally took him down."

"Luckily, Mr. Zorn, you set up that Ritual Curtain in advance. It kept him from escaping the area. Otherwise... I don’t think we could have finished him."

"Of course, the potion you gave each of us, the one that filled us with power, played a huge part too."

"That incredible power... it felt like a Giant Dragon was pounding away inside my chest, and my whole body was overflowing with strength."

"Even with all that... we both ended up getting pretty badly injured."

At this, Isaac ferociously devoured a large chunk of beef before continuing.

"Thankfully, the Holy Healing - Micro-Light Fluorescent Agents you gave us let us recover from our injuries."

"Otherwise, I doubt we could have managed the climb out of that deep, hidden room."

"Mr. Zorn, I have to say, the effect of that Holy Healing - Micro-Light Fluorescent Agent was amazing. It seed way better than anything I’ve bought on the market."
