Eleanor Hollis found it amusing, but seeing that the two had finished eating, she got up to wash the dishes.
"Let do it."
Hugo Quinn stood up and took the bowl from her hand.
He was staying here, so he couldn’t just do nothing.
Eleanor raised an eyebrow while looking at him, feeling that this man was quite different from when they first t.
But since he was so proactive, she was happy to take it easy. After handing him the bowl, she sat on the sofa with Marcus to watch TV.
Hugo washed the dishes with elegance, as if he were polishing a fine piece of art.
Eleanor clicked her tongue a few tis, thinking so people are truly blessed, like Hugo.
He was good-looking, capable, with a great family background, and even doing household chores, he was so charming.
"Mommy."
Marcus brought the after-dinner fruit to her mouth.
Eleanor smiled as she ate it, feeling sowhat excited about going to work the next day.
That night, she rarely quarreled with Hugo and was busy preparing things for going to the company the next day.
After a good night’s sleep, she energetically applied makeup in front of the mirror.
As she was about to leave, Hugo couldn’t help but say, "If anything happens, rember to call ."
Eleanor nodded, feeling that this man was overreacting. She was just going to work; what could possibly happen?
The company she was going to, although small, had a fair amount of information available online, suggesting it was a reliable company. They even provided social security benefits, and the year-end bonus was reportedly four months’ salary.
As a newcor, she didn’t expect to earn much salary.
Soon, she found her place and, after sitting down, checked through her docunts.
A few people ca over to give her so pointers and tell her what she needed to do.
Eleanor didn’t have any special skills, and since she hadn’t graduated from college, she could only find a clerical job.
And clerical salaries were generally low, just enough to cover basic living expenses.
After spending half a day at the company, the interviewer from last ti had soone call her to the office.
She had found out the interviewer’s na, who was said to be Sean Caron, the manager of the human resources departnt.
"Manager Caron."
She respectfully called out, standing in front of the desk, not daring to sit down without his permission.
Sean Caron tossed a bag next to her, "This is the dress you need to wear tonight, put it on and accompany out for a eting."
Eleanor frowned. It was her first day at work, and going out for a dinner eting with this person seed a bit unreasonable.
But Sean Caron’s attitude was firm, leaving no room for negotiation. She could only take the dress, thank him, and leave.
At 5 p.m., when the workday ended, soone reminded her it was ti to change into her dress.
Eleanor nodded and went to the fitting room to put it on.
Though she had given birth, her figure was good, and with her fair skin, the dress added a touch of femininity.
Sean Caron looked at her with satisfaction, as he was facing tough people tonight and had been looking for soone charming to captivate the n’s attention.
Eleanor was just right. The people there didn’t like young, clueless girls; won like Eleanor, who had been divorced, were more to their taste.
If tonight’s deal was closed, the company could make a great profit.
"Let’s go."
He gave Eleanor a once-over, then got into the car waiting outside.
Eleanor held her bag, along with a few docunts, and followed him.
The two quickly arrived at a hotel, where Sean Caron greeted the people at the entrance enthusiastically before entering a private room.
Since Eleanor was brought by him, she naturally followed behind.
The negotiators were two n, around thirty years old, but their steps seed sowhat unsteady.
"President Warren, President Randall, a pleasure, a pleasure."
Sean Caron greeted them with a smile and sat at the dining table.
Both President Warren and President Randall recognized him, but they didn’t imdiately respond, as their attention was captured by Eleanor behind him.
Her skin was truly fair, and the red dress she was wearing seed to glow on her.
Her temperant was restrained and modest, not like those loud, clueless youngsters.
Sean Caron noticed their gaze and knew they were very satisfied with Eleanor, so he promptly poured wine.
"This is our company’s new secretary. It’s her first ti following to discuss contracts, so if there’s anything amiss, please pardon her."
President Warren first ca back to his senses, his smile becoming a bit more sincere, "Not at all, Manager Caron, you’re too kind."
"Eleanor, pour drinks for the two presidents."
Sean Caron said, knowing today’s contract might succeed. Bringing Eleanor truly seed to be the right choice.
Eleanor stood up. She knew that as a secretary, it was sotis necessary to attend dinners.
It’s just her first ti in this role, so she couldn’t help feeling uneasy.
After pouring the drinks, she imdiately sat back down.
But President Warren quickly grabbed her hand, "Your na is Eleanor? That’s quite a nice na. You’re also beautiful. How about I talk to your Manager Caron and have you co to my company instead? What do you think?"
He held onto her, and she was almost pulled into his embrace.
She quickly pulled away, her expression a bit unpleasant.
Seeing her reaction and President Warren’s face fall, Sean Caron was startled and quickly reprimanded her.
"Eleanor Hollis! What are you doing?! Apologize to President Warren!"
At this mont, President Warren put on airs. He thought it was this woman’s good fortune for him to take notice of her, and she dared to break free, how ungrateful.
Eleanor bit her lip, thinking it was her first day at work, and it wouldn’t be worth getting fired. So she imdiately lowered her head, "Sorry, President Warren, I thought you were trying to take advantage of ."
She used the phrase "take advantage of," hoping President Warren would be more cautious with his actions.
A glimr of amusent flashed in President Warren’s eyes, thinking she was an untad little wildcat, which made things even more interesting.
"If you’re truly sorry, then drink this glass of wine, and let’s put that little scene behind us and continue discussing the contract."
From the glance Sean Caron gave her, Eleanor knew he was already displeased with her.
She imdiately took the drink and tilted her head back to sip it all down.
Both President Warren and President Randall’s expressions softened imdiately. That glass of wine had sothing mixed in it, and they wondered how long this woman could last.
Sean Caron heaved a sigh of relief and seized the opportunity to take out the contract he had prepared in advance.
Once the contract was signed, he would find an excuse to leave. Whatever might happen between Eleanor and the two presidents wasn’t his concern.
He even considered himself as doing Eleanor a favor; after all, a secretary’s job didn’t pay well. If she could connect with one of them, her future could be prosperous.
Maybe this woman would even thank him for it.
