Hugo Quinn had taken Marcus to the amusent park before, but back then Marcus had shown little interest and hadn’t played anything from beginning to end.
But today, everyone could see his excitent.
Eleanor Hollis was also very happy. When she first t Marcus, she thought he was a very quiet child, but after spending so ti together, Marcus had improved step by step.
"Want to go ride the carousel?"
The huge carousel appeared in front of them, with many kids sitting on it, holding hands with their mothers, and quite a few couples snuggling together.
Marcus nodded and imdiately went to line up with Eleanor.
anwhile, Hugo accepted his fate and went to buy tickets for the three of them.
To be honest, he had never ridden a carousel before.
This ride was ant to entertain children and young couples.
Sitting on it for the first ti, Hugo felt embarrassed, his whole body tense.
"Mr. Quinn, have you never ridden this before?"
Eleanor saw him holding the middle pole seriously and found it funny, discovering for the first ti that there was sothing Hugo was afraid of.
"Yes."
Hugo was a little ashad because most people who ca to ride this were girls.
"Daddy."
Marcus took his hand, his eyes shining, "Don’t be afraid."
Hugo’s heart softened, and he reached out to rub Marcus’s head, "I’m not afraid."
The music began to play slowly at that mont, and the carousel started to move.
Eleanor kept her lips curved, really enjoying the current atmosphere.
Hugo’s gaze was involuntarily drawn to her, clutching the pole tighter and tighter until he smiled slightly himself, not knowing what he was smiling at.
After the carousel, Eleanor and Marcus went on the cloud soaring ride, and it was Marcus’s first ti screaming loudly, his eyes sparkling like diamonds soaked in water.
By noon, Eleanor was already a bit exhausted.
"Mommy, this way."
Marcus pointed at the haunted house, his face full of anticipation.
Eleanor was a bit timid, having heard that this haunted house was quite famous and very scary.
She didn’t dare to go, but didn’t want to disappoint the child, so she grabbed Hugo, and the three of them entered the haunted house together.
Inside it was pitch black, sotis you couldn’t see anything, and Eleanor instinctively clutched Hugo’s hem, scared and drawing slightly closer to him.
"Crash crash!"
The room suddenly began to shake violently, and Eleanor felt sothing brush her face, looking up only to see a ghost face hanging right in front of her.
"Ahhhhh!!"
She reflexively hugged Hugo beside her, burying her head tightly in his embrace, trembling all over.
Hugo glanced at the ghost face indifferently, the corner of his mouth curled.
"Mr... Mr. Quinn, I’m sorry..."
Her lips trembled, her face bloodless, knowing her behavior wasn’t right, she quickly lifted her head from Hugo’s embrace.
All sorts of strange sounds started around them, in the long corridor doors kept opening and closing, and the ground slightly quivering.
Eleanor held Marcus with one hand and grabbed Hugo with the other, feeling her legs were sowhat weak.
"Thud."
A hand suddenly erged from the ground, grabbing her ankle.
Eleanor practically scread as she kicked at the hand, fearfully stomping on it a few tis, faintly hearing a man’s muffled groan.
"Miss Hollis, don’t step on it, it’s hard for people to earn a living."
Hugo stopped Eleanor, seeing her face pale, knowing she was probably scared out of her wits.
Because a staff mber got injured, the manger quickly led Eleanor and the others out.
The staff mber was a young man, his hand swollen like a pig’s trotter, but his attitude was good.
Hugo compensated him financially, then glanced at Eleanor.
Noticing Eleanor biting her lip, knowing this was quite embarrassing, she hadn’t said a word the whole ti.
"Mommy."
Marcus held her hand, "It’s okay."
Eleanor felt terribly embarrassed; all the ghosts in the haunted house were staff mbers, and before entering, they had repeatedly warned not to fight the ghosts inside, or there’d be a fine.
Unexpectedly, she ended up hurting the staff’s hand, wearing high heels, those few stomps must have hurt terribly.
"Sorry, sorry."
She apologized sheepishly, seeing the man smile.
"It’s okay, sir has compensated well. You look like a happy family of three, hope you enjoy the day."
Eleanor wanted to say they weren’t a family of three, but the injured staff mber was led away for treatnt.
"Let’s go get so food."
Hugo suggested, noticing a KFC store not far away and imdiately led the big and small over.
After playing all morning, they were indeed a bit hungry, Eleanor rubbed her stomach, ordered a chicken wrap and juice, then sat down.
Last night she had thought randomly all night, hardly slept well, now leaning against a soft sofa, a wave of sleepiness instantly hit her eyelids.
Hugo and Marcus were still lining up to buy food, and when they ca over with a pile of items, they saw Eleanor asleep against the sofa.
Half her face was in the sunlight, fair to the point of reflection.
Long eyelashes cast deep shadows, her small mouth slightly pursed.
Hugo and Marcus seed to share a tacit understanding, sitting down without waking her.
"Daddy."
Marcus tugged his sleeve, unsure what to do.
"Your mommy’s tired, let her rest a bit, when she wakes we’ll head ho."
Marcus nodded, ate a little, then settled next to Eleanor.
Hugo propped his chin, occasionally looking at Eleanor, then at Marcus, suddenly feeling life might not be too bad.
Not far away, a woman in line spotted Hugo and was excited to co greet him, but upon seeing Eleanor beside him, her face almost twisted.
She hurriedly snapped a photo and called Grace Lynch.
"Grace, did you divorce because of that bitch Eleanor Hollis?! I saw her dating Hugo Quinn, and with your child too. Hurry over, or she’ll soon beco the kid’s stepmom!"
This woman was Grace’s close friend. Recently, having heard about Grace’s divorce, she had wanted to talk to Hugo.
Unexpectedly, she saw Hugo being so intimate with another woman, and that woman was Eleanor Hollis, who had just divorced.
Grace received the call, a touch of malice flashing in her eyes.
That photo stung her eyes even more; Hugo on it was very gentle, he had never looked at her with such eyes.
He really had feelings for Eleanor Hollis, huh? He would rather like a divorced woman than give her a chance.
This man was ruthless!
Grace gripped her phone tightly, in a fit of anger sent the photo to the elder, refusing to believe he’d let them run wild!
