But no matter how much he pleaded with her, Eleanor Hollis showed no intention of responding to him.

A flicker of hurt flashed in Dylan Dawson’s eyes, his hand gripping the cup tightly.

He opened his mouth, wanting to say more, but found he had lost his voice.

He had already sensed it; Eleanor Hollis must have known about his feelings, hence her absolute refusal.

He was sowhat glad, glad that the woman he liked had solid values and didn’t lead others on emotionally.

Yet the predominant feeling was sadness, which ant he had no chance at all. Staying in Serenford seed aningless.

"Do you want to leave?"

His voice was sowhat choked up. Initially, he mocked Eleanor Hollis for being timid, but when it ca to himself, he realized emotions are really uncontrollable.

"Yes. Dylan, I can’t reciprocate anything for you. You should go."

Eleanor Hollis looked at the flowers in the yard, her voice slightly ethereal.

Dylan Dawson suddenly stood up, taking a deep breath.

"If this is what you wish, fine, I’ll leave. Eleanor Hollis, I will always wait for you. If you ever want to find , I’ll be ready to welco you at any ti."

Eleanor Hollis didn’t respond, but felt a warmth in her heart.

Dylan Dawson had nothing here, and left empty-handed.

At the doorway, he looked back hopefully, wishing Eleanor Hollis would co after him.

Even if she didn’t plan on accepting his emotions, they could still be friends.

But behind him was only emptiness; she had no intention of chasing after him.

Dylan Dawson tugged at the corner of his mouth, annoyed, as he got into the car parked outside.

Heartless woman! Absolutely treacherous!

He cursed inwardly, and despite his reluctance, still left.

Eleanor Hollis stood by the window on the second floor. She parted the curtain slightly, watching Dylan Dawson leave, looking back every few steps, feeling sowhat reluctant. As friends, Dylan did indeed provide a sense of security.

Regrettably, this friendship wasn’t pure.

She stood quietly by the window for a while, hearing her phone ringing again. She didn’t bother to see who was calling and directly pressed the shutdown button.

She didn’t want to deal with anyone, just wanted to be alone in peace.

Hugo Quinn held the phone, his eyes flickering. It wasn’t easy to get a chance to call, but the other side had directly shut down.

"Hugo Quinn, who are you calling?"

Jean Nash suddenly stood out from the corner, her gaze full of scrutiny.

"Company matters."

His phone had already been bugged. As soon as he called Eleanor Hollis, Jean Nash would be imdiately inford.

When arriving at the hospital, he specially borrowed the front desk lady’s phone, but Jean Nash stuck by his side without leaving. Just as the other person went to the bathroom, he thought he could say a few words to Eleanor Hollis, but unexpectedly, she returned so quickly.

"Oh."

Jean Nash responded mildly, seeing the phone’s appearance that made her heart grow cold.

"That’s not your phone, right? When calling soone from the company, you don’t use your own phone?"

A flicker of impatience crossed Hugo Quinn’s eyes, his brows furrowing.

"My phone ran out of battery, so I borrowed soone’s phone."

Jean Nash looked at him, seemingly judging the truth of his words.

Suddenly, she took out her phone from her pocket and called him. If his phone rang, it ant he was lying to her, and the call just now must have been to Eleanor Hollis.

A minute passed, but the phone did not ring.

She slowly put down the phone, smiling brightly, "Seems your phone really shut down. Need to have soone bring you a charger? Things must be urgent at the company. With everything happening with Marcus lately, you haven’t been to the company in a while."

"No need, I’ve already explained clearly."

Jean Nash stood still and smiled.

"The doctor has made new discoveries; aren’t you going up to take a look?"

Hugo Quinn raised an eyebrow, knowing what she was planning, slight coldness at his lips, and he strode into the elevator.

Once his silhouette disappeared, Jean Nash’s gaze fell on the front desk lady.

Hugo Quinn had borrowed the phone from this person. Whether he called the company or not, she could simply check the call records.

"Miss, could you lend your phone for a mont?"

The front desk lady recognized Jean Nash; there had been overwhelming news online about the couple’s upcoming engagent, but now it seed they clearly did not trust each other. Could there be a third party involved?

She coupled many thoughts inwardly, but hearing Jean Nash’s request, she quickly handed over her phone.

Jean Nash took the phone, without hesitation, opened the call records, and seeing the topmost number, her fingers trembled, and she dialed it.

She was indeed sowhat nervous; if Hugo Quinn was truly in contact with Eleanor Hollis, how should she react?

She really liked Hugo Quinn, since the mont he saved her, she had liked him. Despite so mishaps, she believed Hugo would be her destined one.

"President, is there anything else you need to instruct?"

A formal voice ca from the other side, indicating it was indeed a call to Grandeur.

Jean Nash exhaled in relief, laughter in her eyes, hung up the call, and returned the phone to the front desk lady.

"Thank you."

Saying this, she turned around and headed upstairs, her steps surprisingly light.

Though Jean Nash was well protected by the Nash Family, living in such a family ant she had to be cautious since childhood, making her especially ticulous these past few tis. Therefore, Hugo Quinn had no way of escaping her scrutiny. Even Lan Yancy was under her watch, making it impossible to contact Eleanor Hollis.

Fortunately, after dialing Eleanor Hollis’s number, he deliberately called a senior executive at the company to divert Jean Nash’s attention. Her ticulousness was alarmingly terrifying.

Feeling rather restless, Hugo Quinn leaned outside with crossed arms, while Nash’s dical team was discussing how to begin treatnt.

"Hugo Quinn."

Jean Nash arrived, actively took his arm.

"Are you hungry? Shall I go get you lunch?"

Probably because she had just doubted him, her heart felt sowhat unsettled.

"Go fetch so back, I’ll wait here."

Jean Nash nodded and after a few steps, slowly turned back.

"I’ll also buy you a charger. You use an Apple phone, right?"

Hugo Quinn nodded, casually leaning against the wall.

Jean Nash smiled, her heart pounding as she turned away.

The more she interacted with Hugo Quinn, the more she was drawn to his masculine charm. At the ti, she wondered how she could have been mistaken and thought her ex-husband was the one who saved her. That man deceived her, taking advantage of the gratitude, shalessly.
