Jude Shaw’s voice was hoarse, and his eyes gradually reddened.
"But it’s all too late, Julian. I blad you once. If it weren’t for you, Gloria wouldn’t have died. But later, I ca to terms with it. After Gloria’s death, you were the one who suffered the most. You have to live with guilt and pain."
Julian Sterling took a step back, feeling the pain spread from his heart to his lungs, even breathing felt like a burning pain.
"That’s all I wanted to say. If you can’t rember, then don’t. Heaven gave you the chance to forget, it must have been Gloria’s wish as well. She loved you so much, she wouldn’t want you to suffer."
Jude Shaw turned to look at Julian Sterling, only to find Julian’s face covered in silent tears.
His heart ached as well. He sighed and patted Julian on the shoulder.
"We should all look forward, don’t be sad."
Julian Sterling said nothing, the shouts trapped in his chest couldn’t find their way out.
Jude Shaw stayed with him for a while longer, then left.
Julian Sterling stood there blankly, the night wind carried a slight chill, and suddenly, fragnts flashed through his mind.
A woman lying among the flowers, surrounded by a sea of blooms, the most beautiful yet saddest scene.
He gasped for breath, wiped the sweat from his forehead, feeling only discomfort.
He didn’t know how he made it ho, his steps unsteady, his hands trembling even as he drove.
Ethan Sterling opened the door to see him standing outside, pale.
Ethan frowned, it was a wonder that the man had driven without crashing.
Julian Sterling walked past him, heading upstairs.
Ethan stood downstairs, watching his silhouette disappear before slowly averting his gaze.
His phone rang, it was a call from the other side.
"I’ll find a way to get the password, don’t touch her for now. Serenford is Hugo Quinn’s territory, you’re already wanted, if things get out of hand, none of us will leave Serenford."
The person on the other end was silent but eventually agreed.
Ethan’s gaze was complicated, he suddenly glanced upstairs.
He stood outside for a mont before going in.
"Cousin, look at this. I’ll ask questions, and you answer them, maybe it’ll help you."
Ethan Sterling took a clock from sowhere and placed it in front of Julian Sterling.
Julian’s eyes were vacant, and after slling a strange fragrance, his mind went blurry.
"From now on, forget what I just said to you, forget everything that happened tonight. In the future, if you hear anyone ntion Gloria Galloway, you mustn’t react. Gloria Galloway is Jude Shaw’s ex-girlfriend and has no connection to you. Rember, Gloria Galloway is Jude Shaw’s ex-girlfriend. Cousin, sleep now."
"Tick tock."
The ticking of the clock was peculiar, and Julian Sterling indeed closed his eyes instantly.
Ethan Sterling put away the clock, his face expressionless.
His hypnotism was quite powerful, renowned internationally, although internationally, no one knew his Chinese na, everyone called him Leo, the most famous master of hypnotism, and he planned to use this tactic on Eleanor Hollis.
The code was critical to them. Now that Dylan Dawson was dead, Eleanor Hollis might be the only one who knew the code.
A hint of danger flashed in Ethan’s eyes, and he smirked.
The next day, Julian Sterling woke up with a splitting headache.
"Cousin, how are you?"
Ethan Sterling handed him a glass of water, placing a headache tablet in his palm.
"Take it, it’ll ease the pain. Last night you drank too much, probably a hangover."
Julian took it hesitantly, when did he drink last night? Was it after he returned from Hugo Quinn’s place?
Seems like he drank himself into oblivion, he couldn’t rember what happened later.
He tilted his head back and swallowed the pill.
"When will you leave? It’s a bit inconvenient having you here."
Ethan chuckled, took the glass back, and put it away.
"Co on, just two n, what’s inconvenient about it."
Julian said nothing, he knew whether this person was a man or not, was he afraid he was gay?
The atmosphere grew tense, Julian felt his scalp tingle. He couldn’t stand being around Ethan, feeling like bugs were crawling all over his skin. Disgusted? Yet he was his relative. Not disgusted? It was too much for him.
Ethan stood up, wearing a calm expression.
"You don’t have to be so guarded around ."
Julian scoffed, started dressing, and after taking the dicine, his head felt a bit better.
Noticing Julian’s lack of response, Ethan knew the hypnotism worked.
He took the glass to the kitchen, tidied up a bit, then left.
Julian didn’t ask what he was up to, he knew from their first eting that his cousin was up to no good.
Ethan Sterling went straight to the hospital, planning to go in when he saw another car pull up. Eleanor Hollis stepped out.
Almost reflexively, Ethan hid, watching Eleanor enter the hospital.
He frowned, discreetly following her.
Eleanor eventually stopped outside Dylan Dawson’s ward, relieved to hear from the doctor that he was recovering.
From a distance, Ethan glanced at the ward, noticing several of Hugo Quinn’s n closely monitoring it. No one knew who was inside.
Ethan’s eyes flickered with suspicion, a bold guess forming in his mind, but he quickly dismissed it.
The bullet had hit Dylan Dawson in the chest, not even an immortal could save him, how could he be alive?
He waited in the hospital until late at night, then went to the neighboring ward, climbed through the window.
The bodyguards were stationed at the door, so he could check from the window to see who was inside.
The hospital’s ward design made it easy for a man of his build to climb.
Ethan grasped the window, slowly lifting himself up to look inside the ward.
That face was unforgettable, it was Dylan Dawson, supposedly dead.
Ethan’s heart skipped a beat. In his excitent, he nearly slipped.
He steadied himself, confird it was Dylan Dawson, a smile curved his lips.
With Dylan alive, things beca simpler. Such a surprise, thanks to Eleanor Hollis.
Ethan climbed down, quickly informing the others of his discovery.
Dylan Dawson had to fall into their hands. Last ti, with Ashley Dawson’s death, they failed to threaten Dylan effectively. If both Eleanor and Dylan were in their grasp, Dylan would surely reveal all his secrets.
Ethan left the hospital with a spring in his step. This trip had been fruitful. Originally, he only intended to restock so dicines, but he ended up with such a significant discovery.
