"Eleanor, I don’t have much ti left either."

The old man’s eyes turned vague and unfocused, as if he was forcing himself to say these words.

Eleanor Hollis held his hand and suddenly felt that she had forgiven this man.

It’s not that she’s soft-hearted. A dying person, especially a family mber, in such a situation, it’s really hard to speak harshly.

She just felt as if her throat was blocked.

After talking for a while, the old gentleman felt tired, waved his hand, lay back on the bed, and planned to have a good rest.

Eleanor didn’t want to stay and disturb him. After leaving the room, she greeted the butler and then went downstairs.

But as soon as she reached the living room, she saw Damian Dawson standing there with a hostile expression.

"I heard your conversation with the old man."

Damian rubbed his fists twice, his face full of malice.

"You brought back, but ended up giving nothing. I’m really unwilling, Eleanor Hollis, didn’t you take everything from the Hollis Family before? How can you be so greedy, still thinking about the money."

Eleanor’s heart trembled, and she took a step back. This person’s mood was very off.

"I’m not here for money."

She had just finished speaking when Damian kicked over the coffee table.

"Not here for money?! When the old man was sick, I was the one by his side. He’s about to die, and you’ve only co to see him a few tis! You’re not after the money, so you must be worried about the old man’s health. Let tell you, you won’t be going ho tonight!!"

Damian was about to clap his hands to call people in, but the butler stood by Eleanor’s side.

The butler was newly appointed, with a rather stubborn personality, and only listened to the old gentleman.

"Young Master Dawson, Miss Hollis is a guest tonight. I’m responsible for escorting her out."

The current Dawson Family was not under Damian’s control. Damian only acted tough. Now, seeing the butler siding with Eleanor, he instantly crumbled, his face full of grievance.

"Does he even acknowledge as his son at all?! Not a penny of the inheritance for ! I’ll be a laughingstock among my brothers. If I had known it would be like this, why did he bring back in the first place?! Why give hope?!"

Damian was already on the verge of breaking down, his eyes filled with bloodshot lines, smashing everything clean.

No one ca to stop him; everyone stood quietly.

The butler escorted Eleanor out and arranged for soone to take her ho.

"Miss Hollis, I’m really sorry for the scare. I’ll have soone take you back right away."

Eleanor nodded, her face pale. Damian’s earlier deanor had truly frightened her, like soone driven into deep despair.

Damian was still destroying everything in the room, and the old man upstairs was awakened by the noise but no longer had the energy to discipline his son.

Recalling his life, he felt like a failure. His granddaughters were alienated from him, the son who was brought back only cared about his possessions, and his previous godson now harbored an irreconcilable grudge against him. In his twilight years, he found himself without a single person by his side.

The more he thought about it, the more pain he felt in his heart, and with a twitch in his legs, he was gone.

The butler was startled and called doctors to check carefully, but the doctors who ca all shook their heads, asking them to prepare for the aftermath.

Ashley Dawson was originally on a peaceful vacation abroad, almost forgetting everything about the Dawson Family. She thought she was completely out of the family’s control, but only realized soone had co for her when she was inford that the old gentleman had passed away and she had to attend his funeral.

She didn’t have any feelings for this grandfather, but seeing Damian at the funeral still startled her because he’d completely changed, looking very despondent.

It wasn’t until the lawyer announced the will after the funeral that she understood why Damian was so downcast.

The will was clear. The old man left her two villas, gave Eleanor Hollis seven percent of the estate, and donated the rest.

Both villas were located in pri areas, and selling just one would net a hefty sum. The old gentleman did care about her to so extent.

Ashley touched her face, recalling the two slaps from the old man, feeling a sense of relief. Even in his final monts, he thought of her, at least not completely forgetting this granddaughter.

Eleanor Hollis also attended the funeral but did not shed tears. Her identity was unknown to the outside world, and the attending dia didn’t focus on her.

Damian was constantly pursued by the dia’s questions, impatiently pushing everyone aside and leaving directly.

Everyone sympathized with the fallen son of wealth, but so said he deserved it, given that all his past actions had been exposed, his reputation long ruined.

The dia relentlessly pursued Damian with questions. Ashley maintained her silence, glanced at Eleanor standing in the corner, and instantly let go of past grudges.

Eleanor was about to leave when she saw Ashley walking toward her, furrowing her brow, instinctively sensing nothing good would co from it.

"Eleanor Hollis, stop right there."

Ashley’s tone was rude, but realizing perhaps she was too harsh, she cleared her throat and extended her hand.

"Let’s shake hands, wipe the slate clean on past grievances. I was the one who was mistaken before; now I recognize you as my sister."

Eleanor looked at the hand in front of her and gently waved it away.

"Forget it, I’m not interested."

Ashley’s face turned dark imdiately, but she went after Eleanor.

"What do you an by this? I’m being sincere. If I continue opposing you, you won’t have a good future."

Eleanor stopped, glancing at her calmly.

"I thought you chose reconciliation because you figured you couldn’t beat , Ashley. If you truly reconcile with , then don’t ever appear around again, because I’ve found having a face identical to mine is quite annoying. Maybe if I’m in a bad mood, I’ll co looking for trouble with you."

Ashley halted imdiately, unsure if it was a misperception, but she felt Eleanor seed sowhat scheming at that mont.

"Alright, alright, I won’t show up around you. Anyway, I’ve got two villas. I can sell them and go wherever I want."

She called out from behind Eleanor, but Eleanor never looked back, got in the car and left.

Ashley felt bored, curled her lip, and then drove away.

But as soon as her car moved halfway down the road, several black cars stopped around her, and she nervously gripped the steering wheel, swallowing hard.
