Hugo’s brow furrowed; that night his mind was completely foggy, how could he know who that woman was? When he woke and saw Grace beside him, he subconsciously assud that woman was Grace.
"What about Marcus...?"
Eleanor’s eyes were sowhat bewildered; she truly treated Marcus as her own son. Now, finding Marcus’s mother was the only way to save him.
"Don’t worry, I’ve got soone investigating the surveillance from that night. Everything will be fine."
Hugo was also in a panic; for so many years, the child was the one he cared about the most.
As long as they found the footage from five years ago, they could find out who really entered his room back then.
Hugo didn’t rest and imdiately went to the hotel from that ti.
Unfortunately, the hotel had long been converted into an amusent park, and even the hotel manager was nowhere to be found.
"Find them for , even if you have to dig three feet into the ground, find them!"
Hugo’s voice was grim. Thinking about Marcus now lying in a coma, waiting for his mother to save him, filled his heart with anguish.
At that ti, he didn’t doubt Grace at all. After all, the first woman he saw upon waking was Grace, and she appeared to have marks all over her, as if she had been violated. He never took matters of n and won seriously, and he married her back then out of a sense of responsibility. Who would have thought it was all a trap set by Grace?
For a full two days, all the hotel staff from back then had gone abroad. Finding them overseas was like an impossible task.
anwhile, at the Shaw Family estate.
Since before, the Shaw Family had already declined. Felicity placed all the bla on Hugo; if not for Hugo’s relentless pressure on her daughter, her child wouldn’t have gone abroad and could only stay in contact via phone till now.
As her son, Jude returned ho very rarely, except symbolically during festivals, otherwise acting as if she didn’t exist.
Her anger deepened into resentnt for Hugo.
She returned to her room, took out that video, and watched it repeatedly, her lips curling cruelly.
Before, just soone like Grace, how could she manipulate Hugo? It was she who helped Grace from the shadows.
Because back then, Claire had given so much for Hugo but received nothing in return.
She loathed that high-and-mighty man who always found ways to trample on her daughter. Her daughter was a prodigy; how could she be humiliated by him ti and again?
Since Hugo showed no rcy to their family, she would reciprocate with unkindness.
She thought of having Hugo, that proud man, have relations with a country bumpkin to knock down his arrogance, but things evidently got out of hand. She never expected Hugo to actually marry Grace, and that Grace would be so fortunate to bear his child.
But recently, she had thoroughly investigated; the child wasn’t Grace’s. She secretly visited Grace in prison and learned this secret, also having soone buy the hotel and convert it into an amusent park; that one copy of the video was now in her hands.
Felicity’s lips curled even more, thinking her daughter’s current plight was all because of Hugo.
She wouldn’t let Hugo off easily!
Soon, she called Claire to relay this news; Claire was still abroad, taken aback by the news.
"So, Marcus is Eleanor’s son?"
Back then Claire was forced abroad; if she hadn’t left, her days would surely be difficult, not to ntion Hugo wouldn’t let her go, even Evan could easily tear her apart.
That ti she was genuinely afraid, hastily fleeing abroad, but the resentnt in her heart had never softened.
She was clearly from a noble family; why did a country bumpkin end up marrying Hugo? This she could never accept.
The marriage of Hugo and Grace already deeply hurt her; later when Hugo and Grace divorced, she thought her chance had co but didn’t expect Hugo to marry yet another woman who hadn’t even graduated college.
This was an insult to her!
So she got angry and did those things.
Perhaps even fate was aiding her; now Hugo was desperately searching for Marcus’s biological mother. If she revealed herself now, it would be as if she was saving the child’s life.
After all, she knew who the child’s mother was; all she needed was Eleanor’s cooperation.
Claire had a good plan in mind, but Felicity quickly dismissed the thought.
"Don’t think Hugo is a fool; if the child was really yours, why would you do such a thing back then? Claire, leave this to . This is the debt the Quinton Family owes you. I won’t let him have an easy ti. He’s looking for the child’s mother everywhere; I’ll make sure everyone knows that Hugo had already cuckolded Eleanor!"
Felicity beca more excited as she spoke.
That night, she released the video.
The video clearly showed Hugo’s face, but the woman’s face was obscured.
Yet in the video, everyone could clearly see what Hugo was doing.
Hugo’s body was constantly moving, while the woman remained silent.
As the video was posted online, everyone was abuzz, realizing that Hugo had cheated on Eleanor.
The video only showed Hugo’s back and his profile; from start to finish, he blocked the woman’s face tightly, so even Eleanor couldn’t recognize that woman was herself.
This was the woman who had been with Hugo that night, and this video was the only evidence.
She glanced at Hugo and saw him deep in thought.
"So, do you know who this woman is?"
Throughout the video, the woman only showed a pair of legs; one could tell she had a good figure, but where to find soone based on just a pair of legs?
Hugo shook his head, suddenly picking Eleanor up.
"I’m sorry you had to see this; it must be hard for you."
Although he hadn’t liked Eleanor yet at that ti, having this kind of thing in front of her must be hard for her to bear.
Eleanor sighed; saying it didn’t hurt would be a lie, but for Marcus’s sake, they must find this woman.
"Right now, there’s a lot of online buzz; perhaps once the woman sees the video, she’ll co forward. Can we use this chance to find the child’s real mother?"
Eleanor asked cautiously; after all, this was their only way. If this keeps dragging on, Marcus’s condition will only worsen.
Marcus is already in a coma; they can’t afford to delay.
Hugo felt deeply pained, seeing Eleanor’s forced composure, as if a knife was stabbing his heart and twisting again and again.
