She threw herself into his arms without speaking, and the room suddenly beca suffocating.

Hugo Quinn’s body instantly stiffened, a little unaccustod to others getting close.

"Are you..."

Eleanor Hollis’s voice was hoarse, her eyes also reddened. She already knew what was going on; this person had forgotten her because of the dicine.

"It’s okay, Hugo. I don’t mind, you’ll rember sooner or later."

A sharp pain spread in Hugo’s heart. He looked down at the woman, bewildered, and then held her tightly.

"It’s okay, I know I love you."

Lan Yancy also said so, so maybe he really did love her.

Eleanor found it amusing; this man was kind of cute. Knowing you love soone and truly loving them aren’t the sa.

They hugged for a while before she led him to the bed.

"Sleep with for a while. My eyes are so sore. You don’t need to avoid , we’re just sleeping, nothing else."

Hugo was pulled by her and soon lay on the bed.

There was a woman’s body in his arms. Although he felt a bit uneasy, he instinctively patted her back slowly as he looked down at her face.

"Sleep."

He was stunned at the gesture he’d just made.

Eleanor’s lips curved and she truly fell asleep.

Actually, she had been feeling puzzled these past two days. Hugo hadn’t co to see her, which felt off. In the past, he would’ve probably stayed by her side.

Thinking that he did this to get dicine, her heart ached a little.

It must be Grace Wexler’s mischief. If she’s not mistaken, Grace is already out of jail.

As long as she’s out there, she and Hugo won’t have peace. So, as soon as her eyes heal, the first thing Eleanor intends to do is have soone capture Grace. If Grace is still in Morvania, the Crawford Family should handle it. Now that the Wexler Family, their biggest competitor, is gone, the Crawford Family is the area’s most powerful family.

Hugo hugged her with one hand and naturally reached for the magazine beside him.

The door was quietly pushed open, and Marcus peeked his head in.

"Dad, how are Mom’s eyes? Are they better?"

Seeing his son, Hugo felt a sense of closeness and, hearing him call Eleanor "Mom," he held the woman beside him a little tighter.

"Once she’s rested enough, she’ll be fine. Have you finished your howork?"

Marcus didn’t seem to find anything amiss, and tapped his head in frustration.

"All the howork is too childish; I’m not interested. Dad, once Mom’s eyes are better, can you take us skiing like you promised? We’ve been putting it off since we said we would go."

Seeing the expectation in his son’s eyes, Hugo couldn’t bear to refuse and just nodded.

"Alright, but first go out and don’t disturb your mom while she’s sleeping."

These words ca out almost automatically as if he’d said them thousands of tis before.

Hugo’s body tensed montarily, then he smiled. It felt surprisingly good.

Three days later, Eleanor’s eyes were completely healed. Since Hugo had already planned everything, she had no reason to refuse and was taken directly to the ski place.

It was the biggest skiing location in the country, with many visitors each year.

Hugo had booked a hotel and had all the skiing equipnt brought out.

Seeing that he was still wearing the scarf she knitted, Eleanor couldn’t help but smile. Even though he forgot, the mory was still in his bones.

"This scarf of yours..."

She spoke indifferently, glancing at Hugo.

Hugo looked down at the scarf. It didn’t match any of the other things in the wardrobe, but he oddly really liked it.

"It’s nice, so I wore it. If you like it, I’ll buy you one next ti too."

Eleanor’s lips curved, silly man.

"Dad, you’re such a dummy. The scarf wasn’t bought; Mom knitted it for us!"

Marcus interrupted, showing off his scarf.

"See? We’ve got one each, and you’ve already forgotten!"

Marcus wore a look of reproach, glaring at Hugo.

Hugo’s body stiffened in embarrassnt. So this scarf was knitted by Eleanor; no wonder he liked it so much.

"Dad, also, Mom doesn’t know how to ski, so you have to teach her."

Just as they finished speaking, Hugo’s phone rang. Without thinking, he pressed the answer button.

Because his hands were still arranging the ski equipnt, he instinctively switched to the speakerphone.

"Darling, do you miss ? Didn’t you say you’d call when you got back to the country? I waited these few days without hearing from you."

Hugo’s body went rigid. The speaker was Grace, a woman he liked very much.

But Eleanor was standing right next to him, bringing him a sense of awkwardness for the first ti.

Marcus, beside him, was wide-mouthed, glancing between Hugo and Eleanor, unable to utter a word.

"Grace..."

Hugo frowned. A voice in his head kept telling him that Grace was the woman he loved most.

So he couldn’t, couldn’t harden his heart against Grace, or his mind would be unsettled.

"Yes, it’s . Why have you been so silent since you returned? Could it be you’ve forgotten everything that happened between us here?"

Upon hearing Hugo’s voice, Grace knew Eleanor was next to him, so she purposefully said things that would cause misunderstanding.

Eleanor’s eyes flickered; she reached out to take Hugo’s phone, pressed the hang-up button, and before turning it off, she blocked Grace’s number.

"Weren’t you going to teach how to ski? Let’s go."

Her face was calm, showing no sign of emotion, as she took the lead.

Unexplainably, Hugo felt a bit of anxiety, like a child caught doing sothing wrong.

"Dad, how could you do this to Mom? You love Mom the most, and now you’ve hurt her. You better clear things up with the woman on the phone. If Mom gets mad, it’ll be scary."

Marcus grabbed Hugo’s hand disapprovingly.

Dad went abroad and already found soone? He used to look up to his dad as a role model, but not anymore. In the future, he would be responsible for his wife, and never ss around outside.

Hugo followed stiffly behind Eleanor.

"Eleanor, wait for ."

For once, he was flustered, quickening his pace to catch up with Eleanor.

Eleanor remained silent, stepped into the skis, and looked at Hugo.

"Teach , I want to learn."

Hugo’s steps paused. Suddenly, it felt an inappropriate ti to talk about Grace, maybe better after the woman’s anger subsided.

He feared her getting angry, and realizing this, he quickly stepped forward and helped her with all the equipnt.
