After hearing about Dad’s hospitalization, Marcus couldn’t eat dinner and imdiately rushed to the hospital.
Hugo Quinn was already receiving an IV drip, and Eleanor Hollis was by his side, holding his hand with concern.
"Mommy, you eat."
Marcus peeled so fruit and placed it at her lips, his eyes warm and pure.
Eleanor Hollis smiled, thinking that raising the child has been worth it, her lips curving slightly.
"Marcus, haven’t you eaten? Do you want Uncle Yancy to take you to eat?"
Marcus shook his head and sat down beside her.
"I’ll wait for Dad to wake up, then we’ll eat together."
He knew that Mommy must be very worried about Dad and would wait for him to wake before eating.
"Children need to grow, you have to eat. I’ll have Lan Yancy bring you so bread."
After all, a child’s body can’t compare to an adult’s.
Marcus shook his head, "Then let Uncle Yancy buy two, one for , one for Mommy."
Eleanor Hollis found it amusing and could only nod.
Lan Yancy soon brought up two loaves of bread, the big and small ones looked at each other and ate slowly.
Hugo Quinn woke up two hours later, and upon seeing Eleanor Hollis, turned his head with a bit of airs.
"Didn’t you plan to stop talking to ? Why co see ?"
Eleanor Hollis knew he was upset and hurriedly clutched his hand to placate him.
"No such thing, hurry and get better."
Hugo Quinn said nothing, closing his eyes gloomily.
Eleanor Hollis fed him a piece of fruit at his lips.
"President Quinn, be magnanimous, don’t fuss with . I was just jealous, worried you’d be distracted by redith Sterling, feeling hurt inside."
Hugo Quinn finally opened his eyes. So it was jealousy, the talk of separation was just in anger?
He snorted, rcifully ate a piece of fruit, then grumbled about this pain, that pain.
Eleanor Hollis diligently massaged him for a long ti, not daring to utter a cross word.
Lan Yancy, watching this scene, twitched his mouth vigorously, suddenly understanding that when a man acts up, there’s really nothing for a woman to do.
By nine in the evening, the rash on Hugo Quinn’s body finally faded away.
Allergies are like that, they co and go quickly.
The doctor repeatedly warned him not to touch cat hair before sending him ho.
Having been distant from Eleanor Hollis for a while, Hugo Quinn began clinging to her the mont they left the hospital, his hand seemingly glued to her waist.
Back at the villa, the kitchen thoughtfully prepared supper; Eleanor Hollis and Marcus, who had only eaten bread, were already hungry and ate several bowls.
Hugo Quinn started acting up again, claiming his hands hurt, unable to use chopsticks, wanting Eleanor Hollis to feed him.
Lan Yancy finally couldn’t bear to watch, chose to turn a blind eye, and left the living room.
Eleanor Hollis indulged Hugo Quinn, grabbed chopsticks, and fed him a piece of vegetable.
Hugo Quinn closed his eyes contentedly, pecked her cheek.
"You’re still eating, your mouth’s all greasy."
Eleanor Hollis grimaced, pulling away, but Hugo Quinn continued smiling, in great spirits.
Marcus noticed the two were reconciled and also relaxed.
After eating, Hugo Quinn imdiately dragged Eleanor Hollis into the bedroom for intimacy; Eleanor initially resisted but finally gave in.
A couple quarrels at the head of the bed but makes up at the end, she truly grasped this truth.
The next day they woke together, seeming to have forgotten about redith Sterling.
After breakfast, Eleanor Hollis insisted on going to the company with him.
Hugo Quinn agreed, knowing her intent was to keep other won in check.
She cared so much about him; he was delighted, eager to report his whereabouts to her everywhere.
At noon, Hugo Quinn worked overti while Eleanor Hollis went alone to the cafeteria, returned and worried Hugo hadn’t eaten, planning to check his office.
As soon as she entered, she saw the opened lunch box.
The lunch box was sky blue, very pretty.
Hugo Quinn seed to have eaten, but due to being busy, only had a few bites.
Eleanor Hollis glanced at the contents, all Hugo Quinn’s favorites; on top was a heart-shaped fried egg, half-eaten.
The cafeteria doesn’t use such lunch boxes, nor do outside vendors, being a business venture, where one box costs thousands, no company would have this.
Her lips curved in irony, lightly touching the lunch box.
"Who has been bringing your als lately?"
Usually, Lan Yancy handles Hugo Quinn’s als, but he surely wouldn’t allow such a lunch box into the office, clearly belonging to a girl, yet Hugo was too focused on work to notice.
"Assistant Hale, the new one."
Hugo Quinn finally looked up, glanced at her, eyes smiling.
"Do you want so too?"
Eleanor Hollis snorted more coldly, sitting down.
"Indeed, I do want so. Tell Assistant Hale to bring another, identical one."
Hugo Quinn didn’t suspect a thing, imdiately called inside.
Assistant Hale was soon summoned, a very young man, probably quite capable to land the position.
"Assistant Hale, you’ve been handling President Quinn’s als these days, I see they’re quite nice, could you send one? I’m hungry, I need it now."
Assistant Hale’s face showed a hint of trouble; the al wasn’t purchased outside nor from the cafeteria but was brought by redith Sterling.
redith Sterling, soft-natured, fearing Eleanor Hollis’s trouble, rose at four a.m. to cook and brought it to the company.
He thought such a girl was admirable, quietly devoting herself to whom she loved, far better than the idle swoaning lady of the house.
"The restaurant closes after one, likely there’s nothing to buy now."
He chose to lie, shielding redith Sterling.
redith Sterling was too gentle a woman and would undoubtedly suffer at Eleanor’s hands.
Eleanor Hollis raised an eyebrow, guessing it was probably redith Sterling’s doing, her lips curving in irony.
"If I’m not mistaken, this must be redith Sterling sending it through you, hasn’t she been pitifully telling you many bad things about , arousing your pity? Assistant Hale, you’re about twenty-four, likely just out of university, in this post for your talent as President Quinn values. However, injecting personal matters into work is your fault; if there were poison in this food, and President Quinn fell ill, who would bear responsibility, you?"
Assistant Hale’s face turned pale, he simply wanted to fulfill the girl’s wish, but Eleanor escalated the matter unpleasantly.
Just like redith Sterling said, this woman liked to bully.
