However, the fact is, family is very important in Samantha Sullivan’s heart.
Eleanor Hollis shook her head. She had known Samantha for many years and always understood her attitude towards family. It’s unlikely she would abandon them.
The car slowly started moving and finally stopped at the entrance of the villa.
Soone was already waiting outside the villa—it was Nathaniel Quinn.
Eleanor Hollis saw him and frowned even more. If possible, she really wished never to see this man again in her lifeti.
Nathaniel looked like he had lost thirty pounds, his suit hanging loosely on him. His eyes lit up when he saw their car stop, and he hurriedly approached.
"Uncle, I heard Eleanor has returned; is it true? Could you let see her, please? I want to apologize to her."
He shouldn’t have indulged his inner thoughts that day, leading to hurting the other person.
Hugo Quinn’s expression was very dark. Seeing Nathaniel continuously tapping on the window, he signaled a few bodyguards to drag him away.
He knew Eleanor Hollis definitely didn’t want to see this person, whether it was Nathaniel or Old Master Quinn, or Simon Quinn; she didn’t want to see any of them.
"Uncle!"
Nathaniel’s face turned ashen. After being dragged far away, he finally saw Hugo and Eleanor slowly getting off the car.
A trace of rapture flashed in his eyes. Eleanor was really still alive; that was wonderful!
His eyes reddened, and tears started flowing as he stared dazedly at her back.
The woman he once scorned, now he humbly wished she would turn back to look at him, even if just once.
But even until their figures disappeared from his sight, Eleanor never turned back. She must hate him very much.
Thinking of this possibility, a surge of intense pain spread through Nathaniel’s heart as if his body was no longer his own.
Eleanor and Hugo entered the living room. She closed the door, instantly shutting everything outside.
In her mind, Nathaniel’s image appeared again, emaciated beyond recognition. How could a person change like that in such a short ti? It was truly surprising.
"What’s wrong? Feeling sorry for him?"
Hugo humd and pulled her to sit on the sofa.
Eleanor knew he was jealous and quickly nestled into his arms endearingly.
"How could I be? I was just shocked. When I saw him, I almost didn’t recognize him. He’s so thin now."
Hugo’s heart felt a little better, as long as it wasn’t jealousy.
Nathaniel’s current state was fully his own doing.
Quinton Manor.
Hugo and Old Master Quinn were discussing company matters. Halfway through, Nathaniel ca in.
Old Master Quinn was very worried about Nathaniel’s condition. He was too thin, and his spirit was always in a trance, as if a gust of wind could blow him down.
"Where have you been again? Didn’t I just tell you to sit aside and listen? Nathaniel, you should pay more attention to company affairs, not always focus on won."
Nathaniel sat down in a daze, his face filled with rapture, so much so that it was slightly distorted.
"Grandfather, Eleanor Hollis has returned; she didn’t die. That’s wonderful, just wonderful."
The hand gripping the teacup paused, and his brow instantly furrowed.
"How could she not have died? Didn’t the hospital confirm that the dead person was Eleanor Hollis?"
He had been happy about it for a long ti because of this, and now he was being told that Eleanor hadn’t died.
"Grandfather, there must be a mistake sowhere. I just ca from Uncle’s place; Eleanor is over there. Uncle won’t let see her."
A mont of gloom flickered in Old Master Quinn’s eyes. Recently, he hadn’t been dealing with this youngest son’s affairs, thinking of setting Hugo up for matchmaking once mourning ended, but now Eleanor had returned.
"Are you sure you didn’t see it wrong?"
The news of Eleanor Hollis’s death had been swirling all around back then, and even Hugo was in despair for a while. How could she suddenly return?
"I didn’t see it wrong, Grandfather. I knew Eleanor wouldn’t die, she’s so wonderful."
Nathaniel’s voice began to choke at this point.
Such a wonderful woman was originally his, but he didn’t cherish it, pushing her away ti and again.
Sitting on the side, Simon Quinn, unlike Old Master Quinn, was happy to hear that Eleanor Hollis had returned because Jane Shaw had ignored him for a long ti. If Eleanor ca back, maybe she could let it go.
"That woman’s got so luck. I won’t let her stay by Hugo’s side. If she can dodge it once, I don’t believe she can dodge it a second ti!!"
Old Master Quinn’s face was overcast, slamming the cup on the coffee table.
Nathaniel’s heart sank. His grandfather seed intent on continuing to go after Eleanor Hollis.
"Grandfather, please leave Eleanor alone. She just wants to be with the person she loves, is that wrong?"
He slowly lowered his head, his heart tightening. Even though the person she loved wasn’t him, he didn’t care.
He wished she could live well, just as long as she lived.
"Nathaniel, why have you beco so spineless? Eleanor Hollis is your ex-wife; surely you want to reconcile with her, don’t you? I’ll help you; this ti, she just got lucky."
Old Master Quinn’s voice was filled with persuasion. Nathaniel nearly nodded but then thought of Eleanor’s hatred towards him and slowly stood up.
"Grandfather, I don’t want to force her anymore. Eleanor Hollis isn’t our puppet; she has the right to love. I do love her, but last ti you saw it too, she’d rather die than be with . How else can we force her? I’ve decided to let go. As long as she’s happy, that’s all that matters."
His words didn’t move Old Master Quinn. Instead, he thought the man was indeed foolish.
What you like in your hand is the only way to be assured, yet this man let go of the person he loved, foolish indeed.
"That’s enough for tonight. You all go."
Old Master Quinn rubbed his brow, not understanding what was so good about Eleanor Hollis, how Hugo could like such a woman.
Simon and Nathaniel exchanged a look and then got up to leave.
Simon had originally planned to stay overnight at the manor, but upon hearing Eleanor Hollis hadn’t died, he suddenly wanted to see Jane Shaw. Maybe Jane would forgive him.
He got in the car and drove towards Jane Shaw’s place.
Jane Shaw didn’t know about Eleanor Hollis. When she saw the man coming, she frowned and continued walking straight ahead without looking to the sides.
"Eleanor Hollis didn’t die."
Simon slowly said while holding her, his tone filled with joy.
"Jane, does this an you can forgive ? You blad for being involved in that event that cost Eleanor her life, but now she’s back alive. Can you forgive , so our family of three can be together happily?"
