Rachel gave her a knowing look, clearly Nicholas Hollis was on Eleanor Hollis’s side now. If they openly went against Eleanor, it would only make Nicholas even more sympathetic towards her.

"Anna, bear with it. We’ll discuss this little by little."

She spoke slowly into Anna Hollis’s ear, comforting her with a pat on her arm.

Anna Hollis bit her teeth in frustration but managed to hold back.

Eleanor had already followed Nicholas into the living room and discovered the aroma of food as expected, a trace of joy flashing across her face.

"Where’s my room?"

Nicholas noticed her seemingly good mood, and his own spirits lifted sowhat.

"Co upstairs with , I’ll show you your room."

He grabbed Eleanor’s suitcase and proceeded upstairs.

Eleanor obediently followed behind him. Once inside the room, she took her suitcase and placed it aside.

It was evident the room had been carefully tidied, warm and understated, indeed suitable for a girl.

"I didn’t know what kind of decor you like, so I’ve gone with this for now. If you don’t like it, feel free to let know and I’ll have soone redecorate."

After all, she had just returned to this ho, as its cherished one.

"It’s nice, much more comfortable than the countryside."

She said it as if casually, instantly striking a chord of guilt in Nicholas’s heart.

"Eleanor, Dad will make it up to you slowly."

Eleanor remained silent, perhaps she had changed, able to exploit soone’s weaknesses.

After her grandfather passed away, life with her grandmother wasn’t easy, especially with the bullying from her uncle and aunt, living in constant fear every day.

The Hollis Family mbers had never visited her back then, not even attending her wedding. Whatever the reason, she wasn’t going to quickly forgive this so-called father.

She headed downstairs, leisurely sitting on a chair.

Nicholas and the old master’s constant encouragent to eat showed their fervor.

Only Rachel and Anna’s expressions were less than favorable, eyes that seed ready to tear her apart.

Eleanor ate heartily, truly hungry, adding several bowls of rice.

Anna scoffed at her look of just being released from prison, lips curling in contempt.

"Have you never had anything this delicious? How silly of , you’re a countryside child; even a bowl of plain rice is good enough."

Though mocking Eleanor, she simultaneously scorned Nicholas.

"Anna!!"

Nicholas shouted heavily, placing his bowl down on the table.

"If you’re full, then get lost upstairs!"

For the first ti, directing such stern words at Anna, she looked at him in disbelief.

"Dad, how could you say that to ?"

Her eyes instantly turned red, having been pampered since childhood, never experiencing such grievance.

Thus, she abandoned her bowl, tearfully running upstairs.

Rachel felt a pang of heartache, casting a glance at Nicholas.

"Anna didn’t an it, how could you say that to her? This child has been proud since she was little; what if she can’t think straight?"

She thought by saying this, Nicholas might soften his tone, but surprisingly, he snorted coldly.

"Can’t think straight? She’s been indulged in luxury since she was young, nothing to not think straight about. If she truly is this fragile, let’s stop her monthly allowance and let her go work and train herself, maybe then she won’t be so touchy."

Nicholas’s words made Rachel’s face pale; only then did she realize how much Nicholas valued Eleanor.

She laughed awkwardly, quickly serving him a bite of food.

"I’m just saying it for fun, you took it seriously. Anna just has a bad temper, I won’t let her have her way. Rest assured, now that Eleanor’s here, I won’t let her suffer any grievance."

Nicholas seed pleased, finally smiling in agreent.

"Stella, I know you’re a sensible person, it’s clear just now that Anna was in the wrong. Eleanor is also your daughter, you shouldn’t favor one over the other."

Rachel’s teeth were nearly grinding to pieces, especially seeing Eleanor listening earnestly, looking so obedient.

Her face showed a trace of embarrassnt, yet she nodded.

"I understand, Nicholas, you don’t need to worry about that."

"Thank you, Mrs. Lynch."

Eleanor chid in tily, her face showing a hint of obedience.

Already angry, Rachel was provoked by this, nearly losing her composure but knowing Nicholas and the old master were there, she could only swallow her resentnt.

After dinner, she wasn’t in the mood for socializing with wealthy won and turned towards Anna’s room.

Sure enough, Anna was sprawled on the bed crying, deeply saddened.

Seeing her like this, Rachel felt a pang of distress.

"Anna, don’t cry. Grandma will be back soon, then Eleanor will have her turn."

Anna’s sobs persisted, it was always because of that wretched Eleanor she suffered such grievance!

"Why has Dad beco like this? He clearly cared for the most before, why did it change... boo hoo hoo."

Rachel sighed, gently rubbing her head.

"Crying here won’t help. I’ve told you, your father feels guilty towards Eleanor, his heart naturally leans her way. If you continue acting out, your father will only dislike you more, Anna, you can’t keep indulging your temper anymore. From now on, at least in front of your father, behave more obediently."

Anna’s sobs slowly ceased, unable to bear swallowing anger in front of Eleanor.

"Don’t forget, Eleanor has already offended the old master; there’s no chance between her and Hugo now. Anna, don’t waste your ti on her, use this ti to think about how to get closer to Hugo."

Anna stopped crying entirely, thinking of Hugo, a glimr appeared in her eyes.

"Mom, I understand. When Grandma returns, she’ll surely deal with Eleanor."

Her face regained its glow, her cheeks flushed with color.

Downstairs in the living room, Eleanor sat watching TV, idly changing channels.

Before long, Rachel brought Anna downstairs, seemingly having counseled her thoroughly.

Eleanor’s eyes showed a trace of amusent, casually placing an item Nicholas had given her on the table.

It was a car key, Nicholas said he couldn’t let her be shortchanged, so he’d assigned her a Porsche.

Anna had just cald her emotions but upon seeing the key, she gritted her teeth.

"Did Dad buy this for you?"

Last ti when she asked for a car, Dad said she already had many cars, refusing. Yet now, he’d bought Eleanor one quickly; how could she swallow this anger!
