"If you like him, just be brave and tell him. He’s single, and you’re single too. There’s nothing wrong with liking soone. Maybe one day he’ll be moved by you."

Alice Warren’s face lit up with excitent as she held Eleanor Hollis’s hand.

"Eleanor, do you really think so? Is it possible that I could move the president? It looks like I need to keep trying harder. I can’t just like him silently behind the scenes; I need to let him know how I feel."

The al was finished amid Eleanor Hollis’s anxious thoughts,

When the two returned to the office, Alice Warren happened to have docunts to deliver to Hugo Quinn.

She smirked, her eyes glinting mysteriously as she knocked and entered Hugo Quinn’s office.

"President, here are the docunts you need today. Please check if there’s anything unsatisfactory."

Hugo Quinn was typing on the computer, and upon hearing her voice, he took the docunts and began to look through them.

He had always acknowledged Alice Warren’s abilities, so when Eleanor Hollis joined, he didn’t dismiss her but transferred her to a different position.

"Hmm, not bad."

Hugo Quinn placed the docunts beside him and noticed the person next to him hadn’t left. He frowned slightly.

"Is there anything else?"

Alice Warren seed to hesitate, then slowly opened her mouth.

"President, I’ve been with the company for years and never had much to say to you. Today, after lunch with Eleanor, she told that if you like soone, you need to pursue them, not like them silently from the background. She said maybe one day you’d be moved by my sincerity."

Alice Warren’s eyes were deep and intense, but unfortunately, Hugo Quinn couldn’t see her expression at that mont.

"President, I think Eleanor is right. Previously, I was too cowardly, only daring to like you in secret. From now on, I’ll be more bold."

Hugo Quinn’s hand paused on the desk. He hadn’t heard anything else, but Eleanor’s words were now stuck in his mind like a burden.

Did that woman really say such things? Doesn’t she know who I really like?

His face turned dark, his heart feeling a sense of bitterness and sourness.

"President, I like you. My efforts are all for you. In the future, I’ll work even harder, striving to beco like Assistant Yancy and beco your right-hand support."

Alice Warren’s confession ca suddenly, and after saying these words, she felt a bit nervous.

Even though it was all an act, ant to sow discord between the two, many of her words genuinely ca from the heart.

She joined Grandeur for this person, becoming excellent for this person, hoping that one day his gaze would pause on her.

"Leave."

Hugo Quinn did not respond further and blandly said these words.

Alice Warren’s face lit up with delight, growing excited.

This man did not harshly rebuke her nor show any disgust; does that an he doesn’t reject her?

She knew it wasn’t appropriate to say anything more now, so she obediently left the office.

After she left, Hugo Quinn nearly threw the docunts beside him onto the floor.

What a good move by Eleanor Hollis. All this ti he had been by her side, believing he had given her his two hundred percent. He hoped to eliminate her fear of the Quinton Family.

Yet she’s been encouraging other won to confess behind his back. Didn’t she consider what would happen if he agreed?

Does she really have no jealousy at all?

The more Hugo Quinn thought, the more upset he beca. In the end, a trace of hurt flickered in his eyes, making him sit silently on his chair.

Lan Yancy pushed open the door to find his boss staring blankly.

"Lan Yancy."

Hugo Quinn slowly closed his eyes and massaged his temples.

"Why would a woman who knows a man likes her encourage another woman to confess? What does that an?"

Lan Yancy had zero experience in love, so how could he understand what goes on in a woman’s mind?

But since the president asked, and it’s during work hours, he must answer satisfactorily or risk losing his pay.

So Lan Yancy thought for a mont and ca up with what he deed the correct answer.

"The woman surely doesn’t like the man and hopes to get rid of him soon, so she wished that another woman would draw his attention."

As soon as he finished speaking, Hugo Quinn’s face turned pale.

He clenched the docunt tightly with his fingers, grinding his teeth in the end.

"Are you certain that’s it?"

Every word seed to co out squeezed between his clenched teeth.

Lan Yancy nodded seriously; isn’t the answer obvious?

"Leave."

Hugo Quinn’s eyes were bloodshot, and he struggled to suppress the turbulent emotions within.

He felt like soone had stabbed multiple holes in his heart, causing pain throughout his entire body.

After Lan Yancy left, the office quieted down.

Hugo Quinn took his coffee and walked to the large floor-to-ceiling window, but even after the coffee cooled, he didn’t take a sip.

He thought carefully about his relationship with Eleanor Hollis. It seed like, from the beginning, it was his forceful intrusion into her world, never asking if she was willing.

He thought as long as he was patient enough, genuine enough, he would be able to move her.

She didn’t reject his kisses, didn’t reject his intimacy, and he was very happy.

He thought he finally left a small place in that woman’s heart.

But Lan Yancy’s words suddenly made him realize that, actually, the woman didn’t have him in her heart.

She didn’t refuse, perhaps because she knew his nature and understood refusal would lead nowhere.

With this realization, Hugo Quinn’s whole body slowly cooled down, including his heart.

Eleanor Hollis found it strange today because, all afternoon, the internal line didn’t ring once. Usually, about every half hour, Hugo Quinn would request a coffee delivery.

Even until the end of work, the line didn’t ring, and Hugo Quinn didn’t co out either.

She wondered if the man was working overti?

She could have left earlier, but instead lingered at her desk for half the day. Yet, Hugo Quinn still didn’t co out.

Eleanor Hollis slowly walked to his office door, thinking of raising her hand to knock, but hesitated, wondering what she should say.

"Do you want to go ho together?"

"Are you picking up the child, or should I?"

Thinking it over, neither option seed great, especially since Hugo Quinn had been the one picking up the child recently while she prepared dinner at ho.

It’s so odd, what’s wrong with her today? Isn’t it just that the man didn’t co out?

Why doesn’t she just go ho first?

While Eleanor Hollis was pondering, the door slowly opened from the inside.

She paused, imdiately withdrawing her hand.

"Hugo..."

She was about to speak, but then she t Hugo Quinn’s sowhat unfamiliar gaze, complex and hard to decipher.

In that mont, she couldn’t quite see through him and paused, saying nothing.

"I’ll take Marcus back to the villa. Sorry for bothering you during this ti."

Hugo Quinn spoke slowly, hoping Eleanor Hollis would say sothing in response, maybe even ask him to stay?
