The lightning crackled as it collided with the swirling hurricane. The purple bolts lashed out like writhing vines, quickly binding and restraining the storm. The lightning's power was enough to prevent the hurricane from continuing its assault on Anos.
Hannah could sense the intensity of her attacks. She could hurt Anos, but she wasn't aiming to seriously harm him. That much was clear from the way she had handled the fight. However, she had one goal in mind: she wanted to force Anos to show his true power. Her curiosity was eating away at her.
He was obviously stronger than he let on, but why pretend to be weak? Why had he been hiding his abilities for so long? It didn't add up. There had to be a reason behind it. But now, after his bold counterattack, it seed like whatever he was afraid of had been dealt with.
Hannah wasn't simply being nosy—her thoughts were completely natural. She had noticed sothing about Anos that made her believe he was far more capable than he let on. His presence, his deanor, everything about him exuded strength, and it wasn't just admiration; it was a recognition of power. It was the sa way Sofia had reacted back then.
Anos was soone worth admiring, so naturally, she paid attention to him. And once a girl began to pay that much attention to a guy, it was often the beginning of deeper feelings developing.
But why did Hannah believe Anos was only pretending to be weak? It wasn't because of so gut feeling—no, it was the sheer contrast between his overwhelming battle prowess and his apparent lack of cultivation. Soone as powerful as he was couldn't possibly be a "nobody" who hadn't trained for years. She doubted that soone could achieve such strength without real training. It just didn't make sense.
Her reasoning was correct—yet, what she didn't know was that Anos's battle prowess ca from his previous life on Earth. Even though he couldn't cultivate there, his training under Eva Frost had made him highly skilled in combat. So, despite not having the usual cultivation abilities, his battle experience was formidable, sothing no one would expect from a person who seed so unassuming.
---
The hurricane clashed violently with the surge of purple lightning, and slowly, the powerful winds began to dissipate. Even though the storm still brushed against Anos, it was ultimately blocked by him. It was clear that he had spent a considerable amount of points on improving his attributes.
"Logically, his purple lightning shouldn't have been able to cancel out my Deadly Tornado Wind," Hannah muttered, her eyes narrowing as she analyzed the situation. "But the strength of that lightning was enough to do so. He must have so kind of martial technique that enhances his attributes—and it's no small boost either! This technique isn't weak, not by a long shot!"
"Senior sister, can I just admit defeat?" Anos called out, his voice strained. "I won't resist. If I can't beat you, why should I even try?"
"No!" Hannah's response was sharp, and before Anos could react, dozens of daggers materialized in front of her. It was unclear whether they were real or re illusions, but they hovered ominously around her, all pointed directly at Anos.
Anos froze. "…"
In an instant, the daggers shot toward him in a rapid, coordinated assault. The speed was so great that he barely had ti to react. If even one of them hit, he would be impaled completely.
"Shit! This is going to kill !" Anos cursed under his breath. But luckily, he had invested in his Speed attribute. With a burst of movent, he darted to the side, narrowly avoiding the deadly barrage of blades.
Bang, bang, bang.
The daggers missed their mark and fell to the ground, dissipating into mist. It beca clear that they were just illusions.
"His speed is impressive, but his aura is only at the Spirit Core Realm, Stage One. Is this really his true level?" Hannah thought to herself, narrowing her eyes in focus. "Let's see how he handles this next move."
With that, she charged toward Anos once more, unleashing her full Wind Elent power. The air around her crackled with intensity, and Anos suddenly found himself caught in a swirling vortex of wind.
Rip — —
The winds were like slicing blades, cutting through the fabric of his clothes. In a few monts, his once-sturdy attire was reduced to tatters, leaving him looking as if he had been caught in a storm.
"Facing a true expert, especially one much stronger than , there's no way I can resist this," Anos thought, gritting his teeth. "Is there any way out of this? Can I use my Earth Tier martial skills?"
The reality was undeniable—power and rank were everything in this world.
Hannah swiftly moved toward Anos, her blade aid at his arm.
Slash — —
Anos didn't even bother to move. What should have been a clean cut to his arm ended up being nothing more than a faint tear in his sleeve. Hannah paused mid-strike, realizing he wasn't reacting the way she expected. She quickly pulled back, and the blow only grazed his clothing.
Anos smirked, noticing her hesitation. Just as he thought—she didn't have the heart to hurt him.
"Ugh... This is it! I'm done for!" Anos dramatically collapsed to the ground, clutching his chest.
The crowd: "…"
Is he seriously acting like this? Is he really going to take it this far?
Hannah, who had landed gracefully after her move, raised an eyebrow. She was slightly amused by the theatrics, but she knew he wasn't hurt.
She let out a sigh and dismissed her weapon with a flick of her wrist. "Alright, alright, I'm done," she muttered, tossing the dagger aside. She pulled out a lollipop and casually unwrapped it, popping it into her mouth with a sigh.
The crowd: "…"
Wait, didn't she say she was going to fight him seriously? She didn't even leave a scratch on him! The only thing he really lost was his dignity—his clothes were barely hanging on.
Hannah shrugged, her casual deanor giving no hint of guilt. "This isn't worth my ti anymore," she added with a nonchalant grin, clearly bored with the spectacle.
The audience was left bewildered. Was this really how the fight was supposed to go?
---
"Heh," Anos stood up from the ground and dusted himself off. With a playful smile, he glanced at Hannah and said, "Thanks for going easy on , Senior Sister."
Hannah rely shrugged and said, "It's just that I noticed Miss Sofia." With that, she made her way off the Battle Stage. Anos looked over and, to his surprise, Sofia was standing in the corner of the arena, watching quietly.
Hannah approached Sofia, said a few words to her, and then walked away, leaving Anos to walk toward them.
"Ugh, this is so boring. Miss Sofia showed up just in ti," one spectator muttered. "If Miss Sofia hadn't appeared, Anos would have been completely wrecked!"
"Hold on," another person interjected. "No way, Hannah stopped herself just now. She clearly didn't want to hurt him!"
"What do you an?"
"I'm certain of it! With Hannah's strength, it would've been nothing to seriously injure him!"
"So, you're saying…"
"Don't tell Anos knows Hannah personally?"
"If they know each other, then why would Hannah say she was standing up for the Advanced Division? There was no need for that! She didn't have to act like that at all."
"…"
The crowd was left bewildered, whispers swirling around them. Anos had beco an even more mysterious figure in everyone's eyes. Even the seemingly unstoppable Hannah, known for her ruthless nature, had refrained from hurting him. This would surely beco the next big topic of conversation at the Sky Martial Court.
Another point of discussion would soon rise: Anos' cultivation base, and the truth behind his victory over Samson.
---
"Miss Sofia!"
Anos scratched his head awkwardly as he stood before Sofia.
Sofia was speechless. Anos' knack for causing trouble was downright remarkable.
"Do you understand what you've done wrong?" she asked, her voice calm but firm.
Mia and Sasha rushed over. Mia quickly said, "Teacher Sofia, Anos was just helping —"
Sofia raised her hand, signaling Mia to stop. Her gaze shifted to Anos.
Anos nodded, fully aware of the situation. "I understand."
Sofia exhaled slowly. "The academy doesn't care about your reasons or who's at fault. You've broken the Sky Martial Court's rules, and that's what matters. Normally, you'd have been taken away for punishnt by now. I've managed to delay it, but once the leaders hear about this, they'll decide your punishnt. It won't be long before they make their decision."
She paused for a mont, letting the weight of her words sink in before continuing, "I can't do much more to protect you this ti. It's been ages since soone caused serious harm in the Sky Martial Court, so your punishnt could be severe."
---
It was true that very few dared to act recklessly in the Sky Martial Court. One of the academy's strictest rules was that no one was allowed to harm others, and anos had clearly broken that rule. Normally, he would have been taken away to face imdiate punishnt. Yet, Sofia had stepped in to protect him, and up until now, no one from the academy had interfered. However, despite Sofia's intervention, the punishnt was inevitable.
Anos had known this from the mont he had severely injured Samson. He understood the weight of his actions and the consequences that would follow. He also knew that without the backing of a powerful family, there was no escaping the academy's judgnt.
